Clomid question

Hello ladies...

Well, today, I would like to announce, DH and I went to the OB/GYN/RE, and I was prescribed Clomid 50mg!

I'm full of hope, I'm happy as can be, scared, nervous, so many things are going on inside of my mind and body right now....

My question to all the ladies that have used Clomid....What can I expect? Can I keep taking the Vitex or should I NOT take it? I am so new to this, and I'm reading everything I possibly can on PCOS, Metformin, and Clomid...I just know that this is the first step for us to have a happy healthy baby of our own....I am on a cloud!

So don't feel bad if you had a bad experience with Clomid, please share it with me, I want to actually know what I'm dealing with here...

Thank you all so much!

Meg - I apologize for the threadjack (haven't done Clomid yet) but...
I was wondering about the Vitex you mentioned. If you get a chance could you PM/post about what it is/why you use it. I know you have PCOS, so I thought maybe it was a natural/over-the-counter treatment for that? I'm trying to research that, so I can try it before I move up to the hard stuff

threadjack over

TIA!

I used clomid to get pregnant with 2 of my 3 kids. They start you off with 50 mg but don't be disappointed if you don't ovulate with it, it can always be increased. Fifty mg didn't work for me, 100 mg did though.

Take an ovulation predictor test starting on day 12 of your cycle and continue testing until you get a positive. You may not ovulate on day 14 -16 as a normal person even on clomid. With my son, I didn't ovulate until day 19 and still conceived. If you don't ovulate at all by the end of the seven day test, then tell your Ob that you need the dose increased.

Good luck!

Gosh I didn't see this thread until just now. I don't know what day of the pill you are on today, and it depends on what dosage they have you on. What you can expect is moodiness, hot flashes, visual disturbances (seeing trails and like things are in slow motion, very weird), headaches and I can't remember what else. The first few months were not bad on it at all. The symptoms increase the more months you are on it. I did it for 8 months and I could not do it again, I couldn't take it. I hope this works for you!!!

I hope the Clomid works for you .
I'm on my forth cycle on Clomid. We did 2 on Clomid 50 mg, then one Clomid 100 mg and I'm now on Clomid 150. I REALLY hope this dose does the trick. I ovulated on Clomid 50 but really late in the cycle (days 21 and 23) then nothing on Clomid 100. This cycle I think I ovulated on day 16 so I'm very excited about that (I'll know for sure tomorrow if my temp stay up).
I also temp and use OPKs but those don't really work for me. I never saw a test line that was the same as the conrol line. ALMOST as dark though.

I don't have any major symptoms from the Clomid, first time I was arguing with DH over the smallest things, second cycle I was very emotional. No other symptoms after that. I take the pills on days 5-9 and I take them at night.

I have PCOS and I'm also on Metformin 850mg twice a day.

If you have any questions feel free to pm me . I'm an open book, been TTC for 15 months.

GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maja
