Female Lube job.......... guess alittle sensitive...
Figured I better post here in stead of the main board (they would move it anyway.... ) dont want upset the fellows (yes I do, but poor fellows cant handle it).. although there is so much more traffic on the main board...O.K. brace yourselves..... I have an issue.... I am 53 (in april) and in the very beginning stages of menapause, although no real symptoms other than the one I am getting to now......dryness.... you know where I am looking for a lubricant that can be used for the intimate moments... that will last....(.K-Y is not doing the trick.)... and yet not contribute to the dreaded "infections" that we women can get... NEVER.....EVER.... thought I would have this issue, but, here it is. So, those in the know, those with experience.....give me feedback before the old man leaves me.... Vicki

Yes, my gyno had given me that...... 1 application and I had such a horrible night, then she said my test was back and estrogen was o.k....... so basically I am looking to use a lubricant until the hormone levels do drop to the point of needing it.. and she suggested KY.... not a good one for me.
But thank you anyway Vicki |

Try AstroGlide. You can get it at stores like Target and Wal-Mart - they usually keep it where they keep the condoms and pregnancy tests.

I agree with Katz, trying a silicon based lube might be good. My husband thought he'd be kinky and bought some one time and I couldn't even wash the stuff off in the shower LOL so it should do the job for you.

Way too much time on my hands!

I've heard astroglide works great. I think this is a very common side effect of menopause so it's nothing to be self conscious about. You can even buy an applicator and instert it yourself before sex if you don't want the interruption of stopping and putting some on....although your partner might find that interruption fun!

Try this one- I found it at the "toy" store, but the bottle has a web site listed. It's called "O'My natural Lubricant" It is made with Hemp.We love it! It's not sticky or greasy, but it does tend to foam a bit. All the other products are irritating to me, but this one isn't!
The website is www.omyonline.com |

Hi there,
I'm 53 as well. I had my last TOM last August. One that my doc. recomends and that I really like is, "Replens". Comes in a tube with an applicator. It's the closest thing to real feminine moisture that I've ever used. You only need to use it every 2 to 3 days. You don't have to use it just before intercourse. After you use it for a couple of weeks, you should only need to apply it once or twice a week. You apply it just before bed. It's non-staining, Hypoallergenic. Works like a charm. Chris ![]()

I so know what you're going through! I am only 21 but had terrible atrophic vaginitis from the pill. Not only was I dry as a bone but my skin literally wouldnt stretch. At least now I know what menopause is going to be like for moi!
Okay, rant over. I never tried those estrogen creams so I hope they work out for you in the end. The lubricant I use is Woman's Wellbeing cream. I love it cause it doesnt contain glycerin like all those other products, which are way too sticky and uncomfortable for me. It also has aloe vera, elastin, vitamin E and marine collagen. I was going to try Replens as I've heard such good things about it, but it has glycerin. I this lubricant.Good luck ![]() |

All the lubes with glycerin just feel very unnatural and sticky to me. I found them to actually pull and create friction on my skin which was obviously uncomfortable and hurt
The company's website is their name spelled out--- (womanswellbeing). You can buy from them online or they might sell it at your regular drug store in your area (I'm in Seattle.) They sell it at drugstore's website too. So far this is the most soothing lube I've ever found. I'm actually going to write them and let them know how much I it. |
