TUBAL LIGATION... Please share...
I'm having a tubal ligation next Wednesday and I'm getting a little nervous. I've researched the crap out of the procedure and will be going tomorrow for my pre-op appointment... but nothing is like the real-life-stories and experiences of other women...
Would you all share your experiences with getting a tubal... Pain? (I had a c-section... is the pain similar?) Recovery Time? Pain??? When do you think I'll be OK to exercise? Pain???? Thanks... Last edited by Mel78 : 03-09-2006 at 09:39 AM. Reason: Another question... |

I had mine tied right after giving birth to my 3rd child.
A very tiny incision through the bellybutton. Honestly, the recovery was no different then it was after the first 2 kids. ~lisa~ |

mine
I had mine done directly after having my daughter. They did it to coincide with the c-section. Best wishes for a speedy recovery. Jess

I had mine about 10 years ago vaginally. I came home same day rested, no pain at all and never looked back. As for exercise, I would check with my Dr.

The worst part for me was the aching shoulders. Get a good heating pad or one of those microwaveable beanbags. When you're sitting around keep a heating blanket rolled up & draped across your shoulders. It's from the gas they pump into your belly - it's working it's way out.
It's not really PAINFUL, just very uncomfortable & achy. HTH! |

Thanks yall. I have read about the shoulder/gas pains and I think that worries me... I'll dig out the heating pad and keep it ready.
Thanks yall. Going for my pre-op today, so i'm sure a lot of question will be answered, and hopefully some anxieties relieved! |

Let me know how it goes. I am considering this procedure. I have an IUD currently but my SIL has found out she may be pregnant and has one too. We got them just a few months apart after our 2nd babies. If she confirms she is pregnant this may be what I do because I really feel I am done populating the earth!! I have 2 boys and occasionally get baby fever. I really wanted a girl. But as I tell everyone I don't want 3 boys more than I do want 1 girl!!
