Not any more, but I did. I'm now post-meno, but went through the whole process while low carbing. It is frustrating when the hormones interfere with loss or cause water retention, but don't give up! You can lose weight and look good even if you are in menopause!

google "progesterone creme" or do a search in this website - great info and a big help. Also, read Dr. Lee's book on perimenopausal treatment. Good stuff.

I am not sure, since I had a hysterectomy last year (I was 39 at the time) but got to keep the ovaries. But SOMEthing freaky is going on. I hold water like a spounge even when eating very low sodium foods and increasing my water.

i think i maybe done. i sure hope so. i spent a number with PMS most of the month. it was awful. i had my last TOM in october. don't have any symptoms as of now but am aware that it's too soon to hope that it's just over! i lc'd the whole time and it was truly way better. i am rejoicing in getting over those darn periods (started at 10 am now 54...a real curse). i am staying away from any hormone therapy, natural or otherwise. afterall your body just sees hormone. am way more diligent about weight bearing exercise.....no more slacking. also eating my vegies.

Wow - what a coincidence. I am 52 and I have never been on this thread before and I came on because I am going thru just what you are. I have been getting my period every 2 weeks (3 times) and I cannot lose this water weight. Every morning my rings are tight. I know I am eating right. I wouldn'tdare cheat now, but I am about 3-4 lbs up and I cannot lose it. I am drinking alot and I am just done with my period so I hope it wont come again so soon and I can lose this water weight. My son is getting married in June and my gown just fits so I can't afford to gain any weight.

I'm supposedly in the middle of perimenopause too! I get my TOM infrequently but still get crampy around the time I should be ovulating which makes no sense. I think the actual ovulation is still going on here more than it should. I get very puffy, esp my upper half and hands when I haven't eaten alot of salt. I can tell where I should be in my old cycle by how sleepy or tired I get. It's a real pain, since I get tired enough to sleep for hours in the middle of the day if I ever give into it. The LC has really bumped up my energy level, but not on those days. That's a fatigue with a life all it's own.

I bounced around the same 3 pounds for the entire month of February. I should have had TOM last week. I went through the PMS thing and the cramp thing but never started. Since I've been fixed for 15 years I'm not worried about being pregnant (45). I'm not minding the idea of this being over with, but I would like to be able to get the pounds moving down again!

Well, amen to everything -- got to tell you ladies that I am 49 (will be 50 in May) and I did not understand for the past 5 weeks what the heck was going on!
I had my "period" off and on - very light - then a gush one day two weeks ago - then light . . . . my husband said may be it was the LC dieting . . . I thought "peri-menopausal" and the confusion continued. Anyway, I take the depo-provera shot and a light TOM would show up for 1 day when it was practically out of my system - that's why I was totally confused. I'd just receive my shot early January, so I knew that I was no where close to the time to receive it in February and early March. Needless to say, because of this, I am holding on to weight for three weeks at a time - I used to lose a pound per week - but that has stopped! Well, I am scheduled for another shot in April - and believe me - I will be discussing this with my doctor. If anyone can give me some pointers, I'd appreciate that. The mass confusion was laying in the depo shot regimen - I knew that I'd be approaching (if not in) the peri-menopausal stage soon enough. I also noticed that sometimes my feet sweat and get warm. Unusual for me. I work out on the treadmill 5 days a week for an hour - but we're talking my feet sweating when I am not working out - hours later! Thanks in advance for any comments you can offer.
