I haven't been around much lately. I've been very very busy with the 2 kids and a very miserably deployd husband. I can say we're doing alot better than he is with the seperation right now. I also shoped around for sonograms this week as my insurance wont cover another even though they got very few shots of the baby with the first one. The prices were alot higher than a couple of years ago though when we got our DS's done, $ 350 and up! So needless to say were sticking with our first plan of not knowing what were having till the big day and hoping the other shops they didnt get are fine.

I had my Colpo a few weeks ago. It went way better than expected. After the dying and looking and swabing the Dr. decided she didnt even need to do another biopsy then because there was no change or growth! So no new appointment for 6 weeks to do that again.

This is baby #3 for us, pregnancy #5, and the first time I've had a child lay completely sideways 24 hours a day. I can feel its little head poking on one one of my sides and its feet on the other.

We dont have a nursery for the baby as we have a 3 bedroom house and already have 2 kids. The baby is going to stay in our room for quite awhile so I have decided to save the money I'd normaly spend on decorating and maybe put it twords getting a larger car for me. I'm going to get all the clothing I have from DS washed up and ready for the baby along with some basic things in yellow and greens since we dont know what were having.

As far as eatting and weight gain goes I think I'm doing fairly well. I've gained about 7 lbs since getting pregnate and im about to be 22 weeks. I think most of that weight is in my boobs LOL. I'm not over eatting or doing strict LC. For the most part I try to east good fruits veggies and proteins but I do have some of the questionable stuff. I eat cereal every morning for breakfast, I like the great grains from post which isn't too sugar laden. I tend to have a sandwich on whole wheat bread with fruit for lunch and what ever I can get the kids to eat for dinner. I try not to snack unless I realy need something and most of the time its cheese. I do have sorbe a couple of times a week after dinner with vanilla yogurt and fruit. But I'm not eatting pizza and donuts and chips and I'm getting in all the vitamins I need. I tend to need alot of vitamin C while pregnate, I have no idea why but I crave it like mad so I have had some OJ off and on. Its either that or force myself to not down 5 Vit C pills every morning.

Pregnant Challenge of the Week:
(My new weekly idea and it will change each week)

The challenge this week is to eat a piece of fruit everytime you have a craving for sugar... FIRST... to see if it will take care of it!

Try to stock up on low glycemic fruits, but a banana is better than a cookie in the end.

My fav is frozen berries with heavy cream....mmmmmmmmm... it's like frozen yogurt or ice cream. Sweeten (Splenda or Stevia) to taste.

Also maybe try starting your day out with a smoothie. Sometimes I find if I eat a little something sweet first thing I dont crave it as much later.

YMMV

ljh150- I'm so happy to have another resource of someone who has done babywise! I will probably be coming to you with some questions!
How did meeting with your midwife go?

When do any of you usually start feeling the baby move? I'm thinking the doc said about 20 weeks? Only FIVE more weeks from today and we have an ultrasound to find out the sex!

Congrats Shelly, she's adorable!

My midwife appt. went well, sugars and blood pressure are both good. We asked her about homebirth, but she said she's gotten too busy to do homebirths anymore. So, the plan is to deliver at her birth center.

Dr. appt today went well....still gaining, but that's my own sugar eatin' fault. Doc says everything looks/seems good and that the heart beat still sounds like a girl! UGH! It better be a boy now that I've given away my girl things (I'd bought a few bargains I couldn't resist).

Aubrey is a doll!!!

Need ideas for boy's names starting w/ A. (middle name will be Lane, so must work with ............ Lane Copp)

Can't have Adam (ds's name)
Andrew (dss's name)
Alex (dss's brothers name...don't want him to have 2 brothers named Alex)
Austin (DH says it's too common)

Thanks!

Aidan? (you know, from Sex and the City)

Orphalie! Great to hear from you! I'm so glad the procedure turned out okay. I'm curious...did you say you lost your mucous plug? Is everything alright with that?

Stretchmark-wise...well, I'm giving it my best shot....I'm using Magia Bella. Kinda expensive, and I'm so frugal...but I figure if it helps it's worth it. I have one of those Gold memberships at GNC, so I save 20%. I hear it's pretty much genetic...My mom and sister both had their children in their early 20s, only put on 25-30 lbs. and are *covered* with stretch marks. I am 37 (with plenty of sun damage ) and I've already put on 35 lbs. So far...no marks....but I know the big growth months are coming up. I'll let you know!!

Just had frozen strawberries and cherries with half and half. Oh my. Didn't realize how satisfying that would be. I'm up to this week's challenge!!

Shelly you are gorgeous and so are your babes! Congrats!

Hello everyone. Sorry I havent been a very good pregnancy supporter here. I just dont have much time to come online. Especially when Im not following the woe. But here is my update.

I had a boy Feb. 14th. by Ceserean. He is healthy, but my incision got infected. So I have been dealing with the healing of that, and of trying to produce enough milk to breastfeed. Im sorry its taken so long for me to update you guys. I have 3 girls and now our little boy. The baby was born at 3.5 kilo's which is 7.71 lbs. and he has lost weight he is now 3.1 kilo which is 6.83 lbs., he is not losing anymore thank God, we are just watching him now hoping his weight goes up soon. He will be a month old on Tuesday. My husband is freaking out and driving me nuts. I am working closely with a midwife who is watching his weight and helping me with my breastfeeding. Its funny because with my 3 girls he never noticed if they lost or gained weight, but with this baby he cant stop thinking about it (his little boy). The midwife will be coming next week to weigh him again, so I hope he'll be better by then. I've been supplementing with formula now for about 3 days, I'm offering formula after my breast just to make sure he's full.

He looks so scrawny, and has lots of saggy skin. All 3 of my girls were at least 8 1/2 lbs and over, he is my smallest. Im not used to it.

Shelly, Aubrey is beautiful. and I know what you mean about having 3 boys and then a girl, I am the opposite. I remember when they showed him to me, holding him up to my face naked. I was like......"What is that??? (between his legs)
I never had a kid with one of those. I also was scared to change him, and bath him. It's like now how do I do this? I think I got the hang of it now. He's pee'd on me 3 times, and I even got poo'd on last week. So I guess he's broken me in now.

Anyway thanks girls for listening.

awwwwwwwwwwww.........congrats on your new baby boy!!! I'm sure he'll do just fine, and you too! Those weinies sure are strange looking after birth, huh? lol! In one pic I have of ds, the nurse just brought him to the nursery from the operating room (csect too) and is holding him up naked for everyone to see through the window and his "sac" is hanging darn near to his knees! omg, he'll hate that picture when he is older!!

Again, congrats!!!

Ditto on "Ashton". I really like it.

Soooo, we've basically had names picked out since I was pregnant last time. The deal was that I get to pick the boy names and my sweetie gets to pick the girl names. My husband had "Paige Amy" picked out for a girl the last time and now he is having second thoughts about using it if we have a girl this time. I hope he doesn't change his mind because I really like it. I've had "Cole Brian" picked out for a boy for a long time myself, but a couple that started going to our church last summer has a baby named Cole and I feel kind of weird about using it now, KWIM? Especially, since he will be in Grant's Sunday school class growing up. I spent the last few hours looking up baby names on the net and I don't like any of 'em. I know we have a lot of time yet, but it was soooo easy that last time, because we had names picked out from the get go. So, opions please.....do you like the names, and would you use the boy name even though there is another Cole at church? I know it might be silly, but I feel weird about it non-the-less.

how's everyone doing?

I bought a thing you can put on your belly and hear the baby's heartbeat/kicks/hiccups, etc. Think it maybe a little early yet (it says best heard in the 3rd trimester), but it is pretty cool. ANyone else have/use one?
