has anyone here done IVF or have infertility issues?
I am curious how the low-carb diet works with infertility issues. Has anyone here done IVF (in-vitro)?
My story - I'm 38 and I have done six IUI cycles - all negative - and three IVF cycles. Our third one worked and I became pregnant. But at 8 weeks of pregnancy I lost the baby. that was in October 2005. We had the tissue tested - it wasn't related to my weight or my husband's problems. Our baby boy had too many chromosomes and he wouldn't have been able to hang on much longer than he did. Anyway...just wanted to share and introduce myself. tazzy |

Just from hearing from other women on the board I would say that losing weight in general makes you more fertile, LC or other wise. There are alot of women on the TTC or pregnate thread who have tried for along time and then got pregnate as they reached their goal.
I'm sorry for your loss, but it is good news they did a tissue sample and you can know why. We lost a baby at 15 weeks and none was done and I have always wondered why. I'd say the proper foods and excersise would make anyone more likely TC, keep up the good work, I'm sure everything will work out for you. ![]() |

thanks, orphalie. I'm so sorry for your loss.
the funny thing is, I was 45 lbs lighter when I started ttc and I definitely wasn't able to get pregnant then, either. the fertility meds and general depression that accompany multiple failed ivf cycles and miscarriage have really done a number on my weight and mood. I don't know if I will get pregnant - it's a mystery to me and to my doctors. but we will keep trying for now. |

There are quite a few ladies on the TTC & PG thread like Orphalie said that have gone through this.
Many of us could not get pg until we lost more weight. And many of us have "Atkins Babies". I do know that stress can play a MAJOR factor in it too. Also has your SO been tested too? Feel free to join us on the other thread! |
