Last weeks thread: Pregnant or Trying thread for November 1st -6th
Saltire I fixed your due date up top as I saw you had a different one in your siggy. Look at all the new moms in the 2nd trimester and those who will be there next week! Now we just need some new pg tummies so that kasia will not be all alone down there! |

Jai.... still hanging in here with us?
How did everyone survive the weekend? What is your lc goal for the week? Mine is to get more protein in, which never used to be a problem but can be now. How about everyone else? Each week we can try to "challenge" ourselves a little. Lets hear how everyone is doing!!!!! |

Hi ladies,
I haven't posted for some time.. just wanted to pop in and say Hi. I'm 34 weeks today and already hoping this baby shows a little earlier than 12/19... I am so uncomfortable. Feeling crappy all over again too. I know I'll miss being pregnant, but I'm ready for it to be over. I want to get back to losing weight and feeling great! DH's company has offered him a possible transfer to Phoenix, Arizona. So we've been looking into that option. We may try and go this weekend for a quick turn around to check it out. We've been there before and enjoyed it. I just don't know if I'm going to comfortable in the car for the 5+ hours it'll take to get there.. The doctor said I was fine to travel up until the last 4 weeks. Anyone from the Phoenix area that can offer any advice on house hunting?? godsbeloved79 - Hi and I've had the nursery ready for some time now. I knew I had to get it done well before the Holidays or I'd regret it. I had my shower a couple weeks ago and got lots of nice stuff. I still have some more washing of clothes/sheets etc to do, but I'm pretty much ready for baby's arrival.I hope everyone is doing great!!!

Happy Monday!
Goal for this weeK: Hmmm...last week I REALLY cleaned up my act...my aversion to veggies is lifting...so I think I will continue to trade fruit for more veggies. Fruit is certainly good for you, but I was eating SO much to compensate for the lack of veggies I know I got way too much sugar. ( Still eat the occasional Halloween candy, but not gorging. I feel soooo much better, by the way, eating much smaller portions and cutting down on the junk.)
godsbeloved--we haven't really gotten into baby "things" yet. I'm not a big shopper anyway (kinda missing that girl gene ) so it will probably more of a last minute "oh no...I'm due tomorrow I guess we should get a crib" kind of thing. The rest of my pg girlfriends are really into it tho...If it weren't for their hand-me-downs I'd be wearing the same three maternity outfits over and over!! Ha ha.We decided on a type of screening...I had the first trimester screening which is an advanced ultrasound and bloodwork. Had the us today...that looked good, and we'll know about the bloodwork by friday. In a few weeks we'll have the quad screening bloodtests done. We feel better doing the non-invasive procedures. It's not completely 100% accurate like amnio, but darn close. Have a great week! kbeth Still have screaming headaches...do these EVER go away???!! |

No goals for me, just to finish a meal. Still having trouble bloating after just a few bites and as such I am still sitting at a weight loss since getting pregnant.
As for the nursery, I was given a crib by my SIL which is gorgeous and I just ordered my bedding set. Once that comes I will have DH paint the nursery after xmas. Ok off to work. |

I still have a few items from my last that I managed to keep... high chair, combo stroller/car seat and a couple of small things. I have VERY few boy clothes left. I really gave EVERYTHING away! My little guy picked out a brand new bathtub for the baby... that counts.
So far I have bought a few new boy outfits and girl outfits that were just waaaay too cute and on clearance to pass up. I figure I will save the ones I can't use for a future baby shower for a friend. It's hard to buy too much when you don't know what you are having... unless you want everything to look unisex or you want to spend double. I hope to find out in the next month and then I will get what I can. And I plan to do MOST of my shopping right after Xmas during the sales and right when the winter clothes go on clearance for spring. I always buy in advance now when things are cheap. And luckily I will have the baby right about when the yard sale season starts up again! Two years ago I came upon a yard sale where the lady was selling al these name brand baby clothes for 25 cents. She also had like new Baby Einstien videos for 25 cents. And toys under a dollar. I STOCKED up for a friend of mine! So I hope I hit a few of those this time around for me!!!! I am also holding out because if I have a girl it will be the first girl on my side in almost 15 years and the 2nd great grandchild and first girl in like 24 on my hubby's. I just might get a baby shower out of that one! ![]() |

Hi Everyone!
I haven't posted in a while. My nausea is basically gone. I have my moments though. I still have some food adversions that I believe are going to stick with me for the remainder of this pregnancy. Nothing that my body can't do without however. Still struggling with depression. I knew that this would be an issue. I suffer with depression whether I am pregnant or not. I went to my ob/gyn last week and she told me that I could take Lexapro without any harm being done to the baby. She gave me some samples, but I never took any. I did online research on Lexapro and saw that it is a pretty new antidepressant and they really don't know what effect it would have on a developing baby. Pulled out my sunlamp, which I used during my last pregnancy with little to no effect. I basically pulled it out and am using it to humor my poor husband who spent a lot of money on it for me. I see my psychiatrist at the end of the month, so we will see what she tells me. That's about it from here. I hope that everyone is doing well. |

Hi!
I'm learning so much from you ladies. When I do get pregnant, I know what to expect . I did some browsing at the store yesterday and saw the cutest baby seat, strollers, and etc. Shopping for the baby is going to be FUN. I hope I can make it to the store without the sickness, and etc. I'll endure whatever for our Gift from God! |

I am glad to hear the is going away! There are many other anti depressants that are safe (enough) to take while pg. Many have been around for some time, plus you are going into the second trimester. I am glad to hear that you are seeing your pdoc soon though! If you are suffering it is worse to let it go unchecked!Depression can easily slip into "Why even be here" thinking which is very dangerous. I am bipolar and understand. Normally my symptoms seriously go down or away while pg, but I know there are a few things there that if needed I may have to take. And I understand your hesitation because the drugs I would take are worse as I can NOT have anti depressants. Use your sunlamp, cut out all sugar, take omega/fish/flax oil caplets, get some exercise, get GOOD nutrition.... do NOT let yourself be alone! This is what helped me the most (not "cured") while I could not take my meds. It wont solve everything but it helps. The fish oil taken several times a day helped ALOT and they have done many studies on it. One more ![]() |

I can tell you that if you see a good deal on something now get it if you can! It will REALLY help later! And if for some reason things did not work out you can always give it as a gift or donate to a shelter! I know some peopledon't like to shop in fear of jinxing... but good value is good value, even if it ends up with someone else! Before I was pg (or even wanting it) if I saw something cheap I bought it, knowing I would find someone who could use it! This went for non baby stuff too. Once I was at a store and found a rack of jeans on clearance for about $3 a piece. I bought ALL of them and then handed them out to friends. A good deal is a good deal and if you live with a budget it can help... even if you don't, being thrifty is never out of style as there is no faster way to keep your money than to not blow it! ![]() |

I was a little afraid to post that I have already brought some baby items, but now I see that you have the same idea in mind. I'm a bargin shopper for sure . I saw a cute baby outfit in the store yesterday, BUT the top was 3/6 months and the bottom was 6/9 months. I'm buying things that I see that are on SALE, and also things that I like. You are such an inspiration to me, and I'm glad that I found this thread! |

Hi All! I lose you every week and then my preg fog lifts slightly and I realize I have to look for the new thread! duh!
I am in second trimester! I cant believe it! I am so happy! We sold our house, so that stress is over, now to find a new home....hmmm... ![]() I eat well all day every day and then am so pooped at night I dont cook anything and DH who USUALLY cooks and LOVES to cook come s home and we end up eating something BAD like pizza. I have almost 20 lbs to show for THAT so I finally got SERIOUS yesterday and now I feel good, those first 24 hours can be the hardest sometimes, dont you think? GOALS FOR THE WEEK? I love that! I am trying to set myself up here for some success, so I am taking baby steps. Mini goals are increase water intake, no SUGAR [its the devil] and keep calories under control. Kay |

Congrats on finding us lilmiss!! ha ha! Yeah, I know what you mean...I'm amazed I still find my way home every day!
![]() Yeah, the sugar thing. I've been clinging to it since becoming pregnant. I don't know why. I wouldn't be eating it if I weren't pg. It's a mind set of wanting to spoil myself. Maybe as NEXT week's goal....ha. Congrats on the house. |
