I think I will leave pg moms up until 44 weeks and then take them off if there has been no word from anyone. I know a bunch of the ladies are not on here anymore. If I take you off but you come back... just let me know and I will add you right back up there! It's nice to know that people had their babies!

Here is kbeth's post today so it is not lost:

Portia--sorry I can't inspire you with how well I've done nutritionally....But scoot over!! I am joining you on your new leaf. Eating well was SO important to me when I found out I was pregnant. Unfortunately, nausea got in the way. The thought of veggies...blech! I felt the need to be constantly chewing, but mostly on things I should have been avoiding. I put on 12 lbs in just 14 weeks. I was so disappointed in myself. The good news is, I *think* some of my food aversions are going away. Just yesterday I bought all kinds of vegetables that I haven't been able to touch...last night and again this morning I had raw broccolli, sno peas and carrots. So...the tide has turned! We can do this!

Cenicienta--here's hoping you can find a regimen you're comfortable with. I can certainly understand the influx of hormones bringing depression to the surface.

Jai..... how are you doing????

kbeth... no big Halloween splurge. I attempted a mouth of Nerds but it went nowhere. Candy just does NOT taste good anymore. My child self would cry at that statement!

I instead went out to dinner and had a club sandwhich, green salad and orange tea.

Portia
... It sounds like you have a meal plan together for your self. Just be careful with the fruit... it can lead to problems!!!!!

My "WOL/Diet" accomplishment of last week:

I took a large cake carrier (plastic kind with lid) and cut up a TON of veggies and I am going to keep that full each week for everyone.

I like to make sour cream dips, greek dip (can't spell today... the one with yogurt, garlic and cucumbers), hummus (protein),guacamole, etc...

Now we all can grab them when we want them.

I am trying to work on getting more protein in my diet and it is hard. I have been trying to eat more eggs too. I make a "mock" Huevos Rancheros (did I spell that right?). I take some black beans and cheese and melt it in a bowl. Add on top 2-3 eggs. Maybe some salsa or sour cream. Mix all together and I don't need a tortilla or rice. The beans are lower glycemic and have protein and I can stomach it some days.

I am also going to try this week to maybe make some cheesecakes. I have liquid Splenda and I may try a few savory ones for the heck of it.

I will also attempt to roast a couple of chickens so I can have some chicken salad. Plus roasted chicken sounds good.

I bought 3 acorn squash at the store and was going to bake them tonight. I use butter, Splenda and basically pumpkin pie spices. My mom used to use brown sugar. I crave these a couple of times a year and they are lower than making sweet potatoes.

I rather eat a couple of those than a couple of candy bars. You don't know HOW much of an achievement that is for me! I can remember those days when one could live off of candy and soda.... all day long. Ugh.

I have a huge bag of garlic and I think I may stuff a chicken with it. We shall see.

Ok I have babbled long enough now.... what is everyone else doing?????

Hi Guys!

I missed you! I have been out of commission selling my house and prepoaring to move in January. The house ios presently under contract so I hope things have calmed down.

Portia and kbeth, I am SO with you, I need a buddy or two or three to keep me honest. I am over the nausea and still my crappy eating continues. I just need one good day under my belt. I am eating so poorly right now I need baby steps ie one day work on getting the water in , the next day do the water and make sure there is NO sugar, etc Lets do a new leaf challenge right here!

Luna-still feeling sick? Yech I am so sorry! God how I love and envy you for not desiring the dreaded candy bars. Grr to Halloween! hee hee

Names? Dont know yet. Honestly, I am so happy to be having a thrid child but this pregnancy has been so different than my other two, I feel like I havent had a second to sit down and just revel in it and feel the joy. BUT I WILL tell you that I had my first dream the other night about the new baby and it was a boy!

With my second child, before I even KNEW I was preg I dreamt that a good friend and I were both sitting holding our new babies and both were boys and guess what? Turns out we were both pregnant and we ended up having boys within a week of each other! So now I am thinking maybe this latest dream is also telling me the sex....

I never found out the last two times, altho the second time I felt I knew it was a boy. DH wants to find out htis time but I am torn..

Still have our girl name but wavering a bit.... Not sold on any boy names yet.

Hope everyone is feeling well and I just love hearing how you all are doing!

I am feeling pretty good. Still crampy and my back is killing me but I guess it is all par for the course. Weird how even though I've already had a child I know NOTHING about late pregnancy... LOL! Well had my regular appointment yesterday. Not much progress :P Just a little over 1cm and still only 50% effaced. My Dr did decide that since we live 95 miles from the hospital we should schedule an induction. So I have a regular appointment on the 8th and then we set up induction for the 16th. So I will go in on the 15th for a check-up and for him to go over everything with us then will have to be at the hospital at 6am on the 16th to start induction. DH and I are fine w/ this, but we decided not to tell the family. We are just going to pretend I have a regular appointment on the 15th and at that appointment they make us stay. My mother is VERY much against inducing labor so we are keeping it secret to avoid having to be berated about our decision. Both DH and I feel much more at ease knowing we will be to the hospital on time. His biggest fear is me having the baby in the car on the way.

I know inductions can be contriversial, but I was induced when I had Derrick and am comfortable with the process because of that. Who knows, maybe I'll have her before the 16th and it won't even be an issue.

Hope you all are feeling well!

Hi I'm Lynisha and I'm 26 years old ---->

I'm going to jump on in, if you don't mind?? I'm not pregnant, yet. But I feel that my time is very near. God is FAITHFUL and just. I know he is going to bless me and my husband (30 years old) with a child. We both have no kids, and we love them. We are currently raising his twin nephews and they are 4 years old. We've had custody of them since they were 5 months. Their parents were young, and just couldn't raise them. We were blessed to be able to raise them. So we know what it is to be parents! I will keep you all posted on my progress to becoming a mommy . I'm still trying to shed these last 30 lbs before I do get pregnant, if it happens before then; it was just meant to be . I look forward to meeting all of you and sharing in your BLESSINGS!

Lynisha!!! I will add you to the ttc list next week.

Jai... I don't have a problem with the being induced in your case for sure! If you have chosen a hospital birth and with what happened last time ( ) AND you live almost a hundred miles away.... I can COMPLETELY understand!!!!!

I don't think everyone should be induced... but in the end it is about getting out the baby healthy and not the journey. As much as many would like it to be about the journey... you only have to have one special needs kids... one kid in the NICU or one kid not come home with you... or one kid never to come home... before you realize in the end that labor is such a small thing compared to having a healthy baby. I wish it could be beautiful and easy for everyone... but it can't. And history has proven that.

Natural is best........... but it can't always be that way. You have PLENTY of reasons for wanting to be there so don't let anyone make you feel bad!

If they try just smack them!!!!!

Ok so some of you want good examples for eating.

Well we can all try to be a great example to each other! Alliecat has a great post over in the main lobby and it is just as true for us if not more while we are pg!!!!!! And even for the ladies ttc!

I would suggest reading it before answering....

How many of you were planning to "pig out" during the holidays?

You can remake almost ANY holiday dish to be lc or at least lower carb. I am going to make an entire lowcarb Thanksgiving this year. Do you have a recipe that you REALLY want to eat and need help making it lower carb? Post it here or in one of the forums and we will work on it!

Here are some ideas:

Turkey (jaz it up, look for one that is not sugar injected)

Ham (don't buy a honey baked type ham... you can glaze your own lc!)

Cranberry Sauce (you can make your own. You can also add Jello to it and pour it into a can for authentic sliced can jelly!)

Stuffing
(there are a TON of low carb recipes! Heck just using lc bread would help!)

Various veggie/green bean casseroles (you can rework these so that they are lc... try replacing the crackers with pork skins to start!)

Pumpkin Pie (hell this is very easy to make lc!)

Other pies (you can turn them into "crumbs" and use nuts and such instead of flour!)

Cheesecake (who doesn't love this? Ever add a can of pumpkin to it?)

Rolls (buy or make some lc ones.... or just delete them. Will you REALLY die or combust without them?)

Cakes
(there are plenty of lc cake recipes. Or you can at least use Splenda and whole wheat flour and limit yourself to a small serving)

Candied Yams (make yams or sweet potatoes and use Splenda and no marshmellows. Or instead use squash, such as acorn, and cut into cubes and substitute)

Various Jello molds/fluff/salads. (most of these can be tweaked. Use sf Jello and ditch marshmellows or buy special lc ones. Don't use sweetened canned milk... use the other and sweeten it yourself. If Cool Whip HAS to be used... find the lower sugar one)

Pate (very good... use lc crakers, pork skins and raw veggies for dippers)

Seafoods

Deviled eggs

Pasta salads/dishes (find a lc pasts to substitute. Try not to use any Miracle Whip and make your own lc version)

Ethnic foods (you can always find something to replace in these. Drop the sugar, use a whole grain flour, etc... where there is a will there is a way!)

Veggie Platters with lc dips

Spiced/Candied Nuts (you can easily make these lc)

Etc....

I wasn't. I pray that I'm smaller (to look nicer) during the holidays! TTC has made me more focus on losing weight and the benefits of it. I'm doing this not only for me, but for the healthy baby that God is going to bless us with! Allie is right on the money with her post, and she always is. The TRUTH gets a few upset, but this is NOT a DIET, it's a lifestyle!

Great post about the holidays, Luna. I had a ball last Thanksgiving turning my recipes into a low carb feast. Everyone kept telling me, Oh, it's only one day out of the year....but truthfully, I had alot of fun being creative. Luckily, my husband is open-minded.

Jai-- I have been following your posts and want you to know how much I (we all) am/are supporting you. You seem very strong having been through everything with your first baby. Good things are bound to come your way.

Okay Portia and lilmiss--how's project healthy-baby-not-so-bloated-mom coming along? I have made a real effort in the last 36 hours....haha yes, every hour counts!!

Yesterday:
B-yogurt
S-cottage cheese and apple
L-taco meat w/sour cream and broc/carrots/sno peas
S-1/2 chicken sandwich on whole grain and glass of V-8
D-boiled shrimp and broc/carrots/sno peas and glass of orange juice
S-1 piece of mini halloween candy (didn't want to have induction flu, you know, only thinking of the baby... )
Lots of water
All of my portions were much smaller than normal and I ate every 3-4 hours. I can't tell you how much better I felt yesterday. That alone is inspiration!!! (and welcome back, lilmiss. Getting ready to move is so tough)

Good luck, Godsbeloved! You seem like a lovely person.

Kasia--are you out there? Any updates?

Right now I have aversions to asian food, pizza, cheese, chips, chocolate, sugar and candy so my eating has been great, this boy does not want me to eat crap it seems. Actually sitting at a 7lb loss for the entire pregnancy. So bring on the holiday food, WOOT.

Hi, PG and TTC ladies, lurking here, and wanted to add something about LunaAshling's food post - you aren't supposed to eat much if any pate or liver when you are PG, there is too much vitamin a and can be toxic to the baby....

I HATE liver...............was just trying to come up with ideas for a group of people!

But you do have a point! If you do end up having it I would highly reccomend buying organic/grassfed liver!
