Evening primrose oil?
Can any body give me any information / advice about taking evening primrose oil on low carb plan. I am trying to lose weight (also ttc), & am having to keep carb level really low (less than 20g p. day) in order to do so. Have lost 12lbs so far (yay!), but still a way to do. Do not really want to mess things up carb wise by taking epo.
FYI the 'ingredients' are: Evening promrose oil, modified potato starch(Mmmm??), sorbitol syrup, Maltitol syrup, Glycerol, Vitamin E compound, Emulsifier (Mono- & diglycerides of fatty acids), vegetable wax. Any advice gratefully received - ta! Niki. |

I take EPO in gelcaps, it contains "evening primrose seed oil, gelatin, glycerin, and water. I expect the last 3 were used to make the gelcap. There is a thread in the main lobby called something like CLA update, that is about using epo and CLA. The epo is used because it contains GLA. The combo is supposed to help you burn fat, especially abdominal. It is interesting read.

I take EPO, but not for weight loss purposes (although my feelings would not be hurt if that also happened). I use it to supress TOM symptoms. It has been a miracle for me. I also pair progesterone cream with it.
