Organic while pregnant??

Just wondering...as we are all trying to eat as many fresh fruits and veggies as possible while pregnant...how important do you think it is to go organic?

There aren't any Whole Foods or other health-type stores anywhere around me, and the organic section of my grocery store is really crummy. I'm starting to feel strange about the wax covered-pesticide-spritzed things I'm eating in the name of good health.

Any thoughts? Thanks. I just don't want to be doing my baby more harm than good, you know?

If you have access to it and can afford it you should eat as much organic as possible every day for the rest of your life no matter if you are pg or not.

I buy as much as I can.

Also you may want to do a search for that "10 most contaminated foods" list... the one that shows the top ten foods that have the most pesticides and such and try to replace those first!

ANY organic in your diet is ONLY going to help you!!!!!!

After surgery for breast cancer, I try to use as much organic as possible. Look for butter, cheese, milk, meats, and produce grown organically. I've learned that DDT and pesticides can stay in the ground for more than 20 years, so even with organics you may be ingesting some chemicals. But less!

Congrats on the coming baby!!

I shop at Publix, they have lots of organic things. Also, Ingles has an even better selection if you're near one. Walmart supercenter is slowly adding some organic, as well. I try to get as much organic as possible. I buy organic beef from www.burtsbeef.com www.eatwild.com is a site where you can locate organic meats in your area.
