I think I will leave pg moms up until 44 weeks and then take them off if there has been no word from anyone. I know a bunch of the ladies are not on here anymore. If I take you off but you come back... just let me know and I will add you right back up there! It's nice to know that people had their babies!

Hi Luna!
There is a question mark by my week (week 8?) I have no idea! This is my first pg, and I don't know the calculations that are done to get that. The first day of my last period was August 7th. Haven't been to my first dr appt yet. Anyone know the formula that would tell me the week?

Thanks!

Wahoo. I JUST GOT MY BFP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I used to be part of the old TTC thread, and I am happy to report I just got my BFP yesterday. The bad news in my husbands father died and he has gone to the funeral in Sri Lanka, and I want to tell him in person,(I also want to let him grieve without other things on his mind) so I cannot tell anyone for over a week and its killing me!!! as i want hubby to be the first to know

The worse part is my hubby is so sad as his cousin has also died while he is over there as well as a friend of the family and I know I could cheer him up, but I am staying firm in tellling him in person and letting him have time to grieve for his dad...thats the right choice......right

PS Kbeth, in medical calculation terms they date your pregnancy from the first day of your last period so in medical terms you are about 6 weeks pregnant. In actuality you are probably only 2-3 weeks or so since you ovulated but you are considered to be 6 weeks.

Kasia -- thank you!! I knew it was something odd like that. I guess it's just easier to keep track of that way...

Congratulations!!! Wow, what a tough situation -- but yes, I think you are making the right decision. By the time your husband comes back home he will have had time to focus on the situation at hand and be ready for such wonderful news. (IMO)

Kasia Woohooo! You know.... if you wait until after the actual funeral day is over... it might be something healing for his family to know that a new life is on the way. Just a thought.

lil miss......... that is a tough position to be in! Nothing will ease their loss, but I hope it does not over shadow your joy!

Oh! I'm so glad you asked, lil miss. I just figured BFP was an Australian term I wasn't familiar with!! Ha!

Kasia, I am right there with you. Had the implantation "symptoms" about a week ago...and although dh can't stop staring at my new p*rn star breasts, I have managed to keep dodging him!!

Just this weekend, too, I was cleaning out the fridge (MIL is coming for a visit) and I couldn't stop gagging while removing the occasional expired sourcream or moldy/mushy carrots. blech.

Congrats on the BFP!! I am also glad someone asked what that meant, as I couldn't figure it out either.

kbeth, you talk about your "porn boobs" just wait until after the baby is born and the milk kicks in. They just get HUGE!!! I am an A cup and I swear I went to a C cup overnight when my milk kicked in after my first child. Unfortunately, with my second child, it didn't happen. I don't expect to get boobs back this time either. Although they were sooo sore, it was still nice to experience what it might feel like to be Pamela Anderson.

Still having my bouts of nausea. For those of you who have had children before, when did you start to feel ligaments pulling? I am about 8 weeks along and am feeling ligaments pulling. I was at my parents' house this weekend and my mom said that my tummy is already starting to poke out. I actually noticed this too. I remember that I didn't start wearing maternity clothes with my first until I was about four months along. I was wearing maternity clothes at three months with my second. Guess it might be sooner yet with this one. Everyone was joking around with me when they saw my little tummy about having twins. Twins do run in both in my side and my husband's side of the family. Twins? I don't think so. I would be shocked if I found out that I was having twins. It would figure, though, since everything else about this pregnancy has come as a huge surprise.

Have a great day!

LOL Sorry bout confusing everyone with the bfp, just keeping you on your toes he he.

As for me I think the hormones might be kicking in, I had a bit of a sook when I spoke to my hubby last night which isn't me at all....he must be thinking whats happened to her LOL, and then i felt bad after as he must be thinking that for me to sook I must be really suffering and there is nothing he can do about it overseas....sigh THIS SUXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX!!!!!!!

I have decided not to tell him as he will be home next Monday, and his family is muslim and islam is (as I understand) very strict about mourning periods, so I'm not sure what is appropriate . He is going to fly back in 40 days which is the conclusion of the mourning and his family do some prayers or some sort of ceremony. He actually missed the funeral as muslims are buried within 24 hrs and he couldn't get to Sri Lanka in time. So I can tell him when he gets home, and then he can tell his family at the conclusion of the mourning period in person when he goes back, so there is no problems.

Doesn't stop me wanting to tell everyone...so I am sorry about the whinging but you are the ony people I can tell!!!

cenicieta- wow 8 weeks is soon to be showing, maybe there is 2 in there or three

maja... I only tried for 2 months!! I am very surprised as I have POly Cystic Ovaries, and expected more problems, but I lost over 100 lbs last year on atkins before I got married, and I am certain this is the secret to my success.

lilmiss... how far are you along...when I originally read your post I thought I read "mother in law doesn;t know we are expecting a boy" NOT mother in law doesn't know we are expecting AND boy which means quite a different thing. I thought that meant you were quite far along to know the sex already.

kbeth_ My boobs are already a d-dd so no change there THANK GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh and to top it off I woke up this morning and my boobies didn't hurt and I don't feel any symptoms, am I relieved????happy????? NOPE I decide its all been a mistake and the last pregnancy tests were wrong , the baby has evaporated so I run off to the supermarket to get me another test to check....yep still pregnant

Hi Kasia, I think I am 7 weeks right now, will be 8 on Friday, my due date is 5/5/06.

I think your plan for your DH is a good one, sounds like you are being so careful to respect his culture and traditions and that is lovely and I am sure his family will appreciate it. Have you called your md yet to tell him/her of pregnancy?

Cencienta, I too am on my third baby and already have lost my waist. Are you thinner now then the last time? I am about the same, but if you are thinner I think that would definitely make you show sooner, altho I have read you do show sooner after the first pregnancy..

Kasia-what does sook mean?

LOl must be a cultural thing...you guys don't use sook???

to be a sook in australia means ummm...how would i describe it ...cry baby I guess, but not quite so mean sounding...cry baby sounds like an insult, sook is more affectionate.

he he welcome to kasias guide to aussie slang.

to HAVE a sook is to be upset like a baby...I guess

I am on number 3 also.... and I am showing much faster than the last two! I have not been able to button my pants for over a month, even though I have lost 12 pounds.

As for boobs... I am the bearer of bad news... some of us just keep growing and never stop! It might have to do with genetics. I can tell you I was a 36C when I got pg the first time (and went to a 38D literally overnight also after giving birth... oh gods it hurt!)... and now I am a 44DDD... so this should be fun. I am sooooooo going to need a boob job!

I did want to say that many of the sweet items that you guys might be craving could be made at home with Splenda or Stevia! I make an AWESOME "Apple Crisp". All Splenda, Granny Smith apples (less sugar) and I use a mix of oatmeal and almond flour for the crust. I have found that vanilla protein powder tastes like vanilla cupcakes and smells like it when cooked! Just be creative!!!!!!

I have come to the conclusion that with this pregnancy, I cannot tolerate the taste, smell or even thought of any meat (or eggs) whatsoever. For my last two pregnancies, it was just selected meats that I couldn't stand, now with this one, it is ALL meat. Guess that I will be getting my protein from elsewhere. Might end up being a vegetarian with this pregnancy if the nausea keeps up like it has. Crackers and Coca Cola are the only things that make the nausea go away for me. I look at it this way though, I only have a few more weeks of all of this and then the nausea will go away. It did with my last two. I could be one of those "lucky" few that have the stinking nausea stick with them the whole pregnancy. Ugh! Every pregnancy is different after all. I am being optimistic though.

Feeling just extremely tired. I got a good night's sleep last night, but it still feels like I have to glue my eyelids open. I wanted to take my kids to the park to play today, but I am just not up to it. I tell you what, I have tons of respect for all of the single moms out there. My husband is in China for business this week and I am just about going out of my mind with the nausea, fatigue and having to take care of my 4 and 2 year old on top of it all. Fortunately, the Lord has given me the strength to get through it so far.

Hope you all have a great day!!

Kasia--soo funny!! I've had those --wait--I feel entirely too good at this moment mini-freakouts!! I've experienced your "evaporating baby" syndrome. LOL

Cenicienta--I feel so bad for you. I cannot imagine handling two little ones on your own while feeling so crummy. As the list of food I too can tolerate dwindles...I worry about what's going to be left!! I actually had to run out and get a new toothpaste...my old minty kind was making me gag! (I purchased Lemon Ice by Crest, I think. Not Bad! )

That's great news, lil miss!! And what a fun birthday!!

Sitting at work...where no one can see me...pants now have to be unbuttoned! Beneath the soft squishy roll there is something hard and protruding that wasn't there before. I hope it's not just the constipation....!!

Hi Ladies!

I just have to say, what a great group of women you are!! Thanks for being there for me.

Nausea was much better yesterday. The emotional stuff is really kicking into full gear now. I cry at the drop of a hat and on the other extreme I am just a crab. Was able to tolerate meat last night for dinner. Didn't gag or anything. Although as I was writing that sentence, I was thinking about it and nausea is setting in now.

Must go, need to settle a fight between the little people in my house.

Have a good day!!

Hello Mommies 2 be!!

Hello everyone Im Umayya. I'm thinking about joining you all, but I know it means commiting to the woe. I am lazy and not really ready, but I need to get off my butt and put some effort in. I've been off and on this board for a couple years now, and not really managing to do anything significant with my weight.

I am now 16 weeks, 6 days pregnant. I have already 3 girls. I am gaining like a cow. And I was already fat in the first place. I got a call from the doctor today, she said my cholesterol is 9.8 mmol, (I live in Australia) and I guess the normal is 5.5 mmol. I am freaking out because I never new I had a cholesterol problem, and I dont really know how bad it is. I have to go in Monday to see the doc.

So I came back here for the thousand'th time, because Im turning into a cholesterol loaded elephant. I am the biggest I've ever been in my life, and Im only 4 months pregnant. Whats going to happen 5 months from now? And the weight Never comes off after the baby. I'll have a 10 lb baby, and I'll only loose 8 lbs, after the birth. My husband is freaking out. He's like .... "You eat too much meat!!!" And Im like..."No, I eat to much sugar and junk!" He's practically planning to put me on a vegatarian diet, and if that's the case I'll just jump off the bridge right now, LOL, of course.

Any way enough about me. But congratulations to all of you pregnant moms, and new moms. I hope to get to know you all much better, and I hope I havent scared you all off.

Love, Umayya
