No period for six months, until 3 days ago
In January, I worked out at the gym pretty much six days a week. Kept very low-carb, but cheated several times during this period. Stopped working out in June and started physical therapy for a leg injury. Haven't really gotten back up to speed yet. Combined with no exercise, I've not been good at staying on plan, and even when I do, I've been overeating. So, I've gained probably about 10-15 pounds since May. (I don't want to actually look!!)
BUT I finally got my period after not having it since the first of January. Any one have a similar experience or observations? I don't want to even consider that I have to be a certain body fat percentage in order for me to ovulate, and I really don't want weight lifting to be the reason I didn't menstruate. I've been wanting to get tested for hypothyroidism, and I've read that too low carb levels can cause low thyroid conversion, perhaps the cause of my amenorrhea. I did get examined/tested last year at my OB/GYN exam and everything came out perfectly normal. That's why I think this is diet/weight/stress/activity level related. Any wisdom out there for me? Other stories?
