Positive pregnancy test today!!!!!!
oooohhhhhh my goodness.
I don't really believe it yet. My husband is very, very, very excited. I am uh....stunned. I just took one test, but it was unmistakable. Period is a week late. I went on Atkins two months ago, and I think I "corrected" something internally, because Boom and I'm pregnant. With my last two kids, I gained 60 pounds. I went over 200 with each one. This time, I am saying NO NO NO NO to bad carbs and fake foods. I'm not letting that happen again. |

Thanks to everyone!!
I had problems with labor and delivery with my first two because I gained too much weight. I was swollen all over and the babies got too big, too fast. Each time I had to be induced and had difficult, painful, drawn out labors. My goal is to keep my weight in check to keep myself and the baby healthy. |

Count me in! I took a pregnancy test yesterday as well and was shocked as all get out when it came back positive. We weren't even trying! Guess that God had other plans for us. Looks like I am going to have a May baby as well. What a Mother's Day gift next year!!!

This is my third pregnancy. We have a daughter who 4 and a son who is 2. We thought that we were done since we had one of each. In my heart, however, I never really felt as though I was done - especially after looking at the Mother's heart necklace that my husband gave to me as a Mother's Day gift. The heart has three points to it, two of the points were already filled with my children's birthstones. I felt like there was still a birthstone missing to complete our family. I had always wanted just one more child. My husband was happy with just 2. In May, my ob/gyn found some uterine fibroids and told me that if I had intended on having any more children, that I had better consider doing it now since sometimes uterine fibroids lead to a hysterectomy. I presented the idea to my husband, who shot me down. I guess that God had other plans for us, however. It is quite coincidental that I will be due right around Mother's Day.
I have to laugh. When my expected period was running so late, I was joking around with my husband about being pregnant. I always keep an extra pregnancy test on hand, just in case. Yesterday morning, I decided that I was getting sick and tired of waiting for my period to come, so I decided that since I had this test sitting around anyway, I figured "what the heck". At the very least I would know if my period was on the way or not. You cannot believe my surprise when it came back positive! I had to run out and get three other tests since I couldn't believe it. After those tests came back positive, I called my doctor's office to set up an appointment. My husband was traveling yesterday for work and didn't come home until well after supper. I put the two of three positive tests in an envelope labelled "Daddy" and told our daughter to hand it to Daddy when he came home. My husband fully expected it to be a piece of our daughter's artwork. You should have seen the look on his face when he realized what it was. He was completely in shock, happy, but shocked. Now we just have to decide what to do about our house. We only have three, small bedrooms in our house. We just LOVE our house, but we might have to start looking for a different one with more space and more bedrooms.Good luck to you!!! Let's keep each other updated!!!! |

I have a similar story with Bethany. We were ttc for years with no luck at all. Went to a fertility doctor who said we could start treatments, but we should lose weight first, so the treatments would be more effective. He reccomended Atkins. End of Oct. 2003, DH and I started to diet. I lost almost 60lbs. I was to go in on Feb 7th, to discuss artificial insemination, but instead it was a 7 week pregnancy check-up. After years of trying, it took two months on Atkins!!! So definetly, I advise low-carb if you are having trouble conceiving!!
Now with this pregnancy... we weren't even trying!!! Big surprise, but I'm so happy ![]()
