Hey Everyone!

Just wanted to report that we had the ultrasound this week and all is well! The baby was visible and so was a heartbeat! We are thrilled!

My doctor adjusted my due date to March 21st which puts me at 8 wks 5 days.

Thanks for all the prayers and sticky vibes!

Well, I went to my doctors on Monday to get an u/s, NST and an exam to make sure everything was okay, since I didn't go into labor by my EDD. Got my u/s, was waiting for my NST when my doctor called me to her office and said "How would you like to have a baby today??" I FREAKED out!! Luckily when I was leaving the office, I saw my therapist who just happened to be there that day in the hall. I couldn't breath and was crying so bad! She had to take me into a room and calm me down.

They decided to induce because my fluid levels were getting low, so they figured I was full term, they would just induce me. I was warned since I had no progress yet, it would probably be a long labor and possible c-section.

Anyway, I got to the hospial around 2:00 they put the little pill thingy in me at about 3:00, watched me for an hour, told me to go out for 3.5 hours and come back at 7:30. DH, mother and I went for dinner, walked around a bit, and went back to the hospital, they hooked me back up for a while, saw mild contractions, checked me and I had progressed to 2cm. They got me a room, started an IV, and penacilin for Group B and after a few hours started me on pitocin. Almost immediately, I felt the effects and by 3cm, I had contractions on top of each other, so I got the epidural. After they got the two doses of anitbiotics in me, they broke my water, which intensified the contractions, so they adjusted my epi. Did fine, snoozed off and on, they checked me early in the morning and I was 6cm. All of a sudden around 7:30 I started getting a lot of pressure in my rear, they checked me and I was 9cm. They told me it would probably be about another hour and it would be time to push. Well within minutes the pressure was so bad I buzzed the nurse, sure enough, it was time to push!! OMG They kept telling me that it would feel better to push...BULL *****...I told them it hurt so bad!! They upped my epi a little and it helped take the edge off. I pushed for about 1.5 hours and Sara Elizabeth was born at 9:23 on Tuesday, August 9th. She was 7lbs 9oz, 19 inches long. Turns out a lot of the pressure was because she was sunny side up. Ouch!!

I did have an anxiety attack when she came out. I wanted to look at her, but it was just too much reality. I was crying hysterically. They kept telling me to look, that she was beautiful...I just couldn't. Finally after they sewed and cleaned me up (needed a very small episiotomy), I was a little more ready to hold her. After a few minutes of that, I was fine.

Over all it was pretty good. Painful, but okay. It went a whole lot faster than I AND the doctors thought. No complications.

Last night was really rough. She didn't really fall asleep unitl 5:AM in the morning. So, DH had slept some, so at 7:AM when she woke up, he got up with her and I slept in until 9:30-ish. Of course she was FAST asleep at that point!

So, she is a pretty content baby...eats really well...just hates being changed.

I think my milk came in some today. I went to take my bra off that I slept in and my right boob is all lumpy and a little sore. How long does it take to go away? Anyone know?

Oh, and no issues with cloths my old jeans fit fine!!

Congrats Amy!! Jake was sunny side up. I had tremendous back pain thru the whole labor even with the epi. I'm glad it went relatively easy for you. I was worried about ya. Welcome Sara!!

Wow! I can't believe i'm second from the top of the list! I'm not ready yet! I have apparently dropped, though, according to most people with a nice opinion. I also think I've started losing my mucus plug, no bloody show though. I've had some odd cramps today, and have been kinda nauseated off and on all day. For the past 3 days I've had stronger BH's, and more frequent, and I"ve been drinking tons of water! I don't know what this means, if this is me preparing for labor or what. I don't remember this with dd, so I'm wondering if anyone has any words of wisdom? I have a little over 4 weeks left, so I can't imagine this means anything serious, but I'm a bit nervous.

Barbi - congrats on the results of the u/s! You must feel so much better!

Amy - love your birth story, I just love how everyone's is different! I was induced with youngest dd as well, and it just makes things go so fast! Sara is beautiful, and so tiny! Congratulations, and take a few days to get used to things and let us know how things are goin!

Glad to hear that labour wasn't as long as you dreaded, even if it did surprise the hospital staff. Hope you are getting SOME rest.

No real words of wisdom... just keep an eye out. The "last" time I went into labor with my first I just thought I was sick to my stomach. Just be prepared incase it does happen!
