Ladies only please (Older ladies ;)
O.K. Was to doc the other day and she feels I may be entering Menapause (I am 52) and she feels I have a "dryness" problem!
If so, this is the only symtom I have noticed (other than missing the last two months). Anyway, she has given me a cream for down there , it is an estrogen cream, she said it will not enter the body, just help tissue in that area, but that is not the way the pamplet reads...... anyway, has anyone else had this issue??? If so, what do you know about the cream and its effect and also, is there any "natural" product that can help without putting these synthetic products in the body? IF THIS IS TRUE, I dont think it is all that bad yet. I developed a yeast infection that feels like a bladder infection (causing discomfort during sex )and that is the reason I went to see her, now she says I have this other problem. I must admit, my sex drive is less than it use to be, but the darn thing was still working!!! Mom has passed and really not anyone to ask, so I have come here. Thanks Vicki

Welcome to my world!!! Your doctor is wrong in telling you that the estrogen cream will not enter your body. Of course it will! Check out this website:
http://www.power-surge.com/educate/sexuality.htm This should help you a bit! Peace, Okira |

Vagi-Fem vaginal tablets that come in pre-filled applicators. Very easy and convenient. Couple times per week. Not messy at all. The tablets are very small.

Can you try a non-estrogen lube? Many of us are estrogen-positive, which can contribute to breast cancer! (I am one, and would never use an estrogen cream.)

Vicki, check out the book "What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Pre-Menopause" by Dr. John Lee. Because of that book I started using a natural progesterone replacement after having hyperplasia (excess uterine lining) due to estrogen dominance (which many overweight and/or aging women have), and I've been doing great ever since.

Thanks for the info. I thought it strange she give me a estrogen cream when last year I had a endometrial ablation for heavy bleeding. They also removed a polyp that showed slight signs of hyperplasia, they went back in last Dec. and there were no signs of hyperplasia. I use to have night sweats, that was my ONLY sign of peri. When I got serious (Memorial Day) about Low carbing, the night sweats stopped!!! But so did the small periods I still had after the ablation. O.K. not a problem. Used the Estrogen cream last night, had a BAD NIGHT SWEAT, woke up soaked and freezing (with this hot weather) had to get a quilt. I went back now because I thought I had an infection (and I did have a low grade yeast infection).........maybe slight bladder infe. They put me on antibiotic, yeast pill, estrogen cream....... seems to think I am to dry???? O.K. I admit my sex drive went for a vacation, but I blame that part on being so heavy (I was just to tired), now that I might want to, well, there are these issues. Not really happy with this. So, now you have the story
