HRT and low carbing
I had a hysterectomy that included taking my tubes and ovaries on July 13th and started on 1.25mg Cenestin HRT 3 weeks ago.
I've been low carbing 90% of the time for the last 5 years, and just over a year ago I gain 25lbs really without explanation. I know now that this had to do with my out of order hormones. This past Tuesday I reinducted and have lost 5lbs already. I have reinducted a dozen times in the last year and was lucky to lose 2lbs in 2 weeks only to gain it back. I feel like maybe my hormones are finally getting back to normal with the HRT and that perhaps I can take off another 20lbs to get back to where I was (195lbs), before my female system went out of order. Has anyone else experienced a 'recovered' metabolism after starting HRT? I'm also hypothyroid, and even with my thyroid normalized with 100mg of Synthroid, I was struggling to lose weight. Thanks for any replies!

No, no luck here. I had a hysterectomy last Sept. I am on HRT and I am also hypothyroid....but throw in to that mix.....insulin resistant diabetic and pcos.
I hope you continue to lose!!! Good luck!!! |

Hi there,
Both of you should do a search for the posts of a member named NonStickPam. She is incredibly knowledgable about Thyroid, hormones and low carb weight loss. Even if you think your thyroid is regulated, it may still not be. Seriously, try to track her down, or at least all her posts on the matter. Good luck, LizzyD |

Thanks. It's because of Nonstickpams posts that I finally had tests done and diagnosed hypothyroid several years ago.
I'd better sift through her posts and look for some more info. Thanks again! |
