Love the new primary post!

I'm up late as usual, but I'll sleep in. Whatever will I do when school starts? UGH... And school starts on MONDAY! Didn't they JUST get out of school? I'm looking on Ebay for some school clothes, and I've been pleasantly surprised so far. I'm bidding on one lot of clothes (7 outfits WITH accessories) with no reserve and $17shipping... The last time I looked it was still under $50. Hopefully, I can get it for not much more than that. If it goes too high, I won't bid. Well... Now it's $66... I think if it stays close to that price, I'll bid... I don't want to pay more than $100.

If not, then we'll be school shopping with the crowds this weekend. It's the no tax weekend. I just hate crowds though. Ick. LOL!

Hi Mommies,

I haven't been able to keep up the last couple of days, sorry about that.

Confession: I'm 3lbs above siggy, but haven't cheated. BUT, I now know I cannot have BG Cheesecake!! I've eaten a whole one (with a little help) since Saturday!!

I definitely have strong opinions about parenting--but I also think that if it works for you, and you're happy, that's great! I get upset when people try to push their opinions onto others. That's one of my big issues with Sweden, my parenting style/ideas are very very different and I get looked upon badly, I think. (SAHMommies here are really looked down upon--like they're too stupid to get a job. I'm just feel lucky for myself that I get to stay home, but it doesnt mean I think less of working moms. Why would you?) The BF nazis get to me too. But, I would never say anything to another mommie with a different idea than me, other than friendly discussion. I mean, maybe they have some insight...sorry, I rambled on there, hope it made sense.

Jenn, those clothes are really cute, I LOVE that first floral skirt and the sweater/jeans. It's great that there are accessories too, I'm really bad at accessory shopping. Girl clothes are so much more fun than boy clothes!

Well, I'm off to lunch with American friends today, and tomorrow, and DH is in London all day tomorrow--no public transport, though! sigh

Hope everyone is doing well!

Oh, Dawn, I'm ordering the Cworkbook (is that the right spelling?) too. Which books didn't you like? I'm thinking of getting Super Baby Foods as well.

And thanks for the baby food lesson Melissa!

Good Morning

TOM arrived this morning but the scale is holding strong...so we'll see where we end up. I'm starting to realize a pattern of losing a few lbs. before TOM

We got some good news...my mom and her new husband bought their tickets to fly down the day before Elana's bday through Christmas. They'll be staying with us, which will be hectic, but it will be the first time in 12 years I've had extended family with me for the holiday (here in Florida). My mom is like a kid she's so excited to be with the baby for both events.

I'm wiped out physically. Elana crashed around 7:30 last night and slept until 3am. Then was up until 4:30am and is now starting to stir again. Needless to say, I'm tired. Knowles works at 5pm to 2am tonight so perhaps I'll go to bed when she does tonight. Fingers crossed that maybe, just maybe, she'll sleep through the night. This tooth can't come through fast enough.

Have a wonderful Tuesday ladies.....keeping you all in thoughts.

OH and I have a QOTD:

Diapers....yes, disposable diapers. Elana is in a size 3 Pampers Baby-Dry. Fits her fine but now that she's more mobile....we're having quite the number of poo explosions up her back. It's like she poo's then decides to roll over and it squishes up the back. Any cures for this other than duct taping the top of the diaper to her?!?! I bought a pack of Pampers Cruisers as they look to have more "give" on the sides, perhaps letting us tighten it a bit more. Just haven't opened them until the others are gone.

Ideas or just grab some duct tape?

Chelle- The Cruisers should work better than the Baby Dry's. If I buy pampers it has to be the cruisers or Hunter has explosions. Hope they work for you! Hunter does the best in Huggies, but I know a lot of mommies don't like Huggies and like Pampers the best.

For those of you that plan to make your own baby food, I honestly wouldn't go hog wild on buying books. Once you get the basics, unless you *have* to have fancy recipes you can just make it up as you go along. Just remember that you can't use Honey or Strawberries until 12 months, and no PB until 24 months.

Well, I'm going into work today. I'm sure I will get dirty looks, but this is day 4 of the cold and I'm sure I am not contagious. Oh well, gotta get into the shower!

B- String Cheese
S- String Cheese
L- Hamburger Goulash
D- Chicken and Veggies

I'm trying to keep my carbs as low as possible because I know I over-carbed it this past Sat, Sun, Mon between the cold and TOM.

G'morning ladies.

Dar: Regarding the juice thing yesterday: It can't be 100% juice if it has splenda in it, now, can it? It *used* to be 100% juice, but concentrating it enough precipitates the sugars out of solution, and then they skim those out and replace them with splenda. There's no extra flavoring, and the water is at the original concentration when they sell it, so it's real juice with the sweetening property changed. They have no right to call it 100% juice, though.

Cyn: The "goulash" is just what Melissa calls my scrambled hamburger with veggies and sauce that I make, for lack of a better term, I suppose. Last night it was Asian influenced, with onions, peppers, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, and splenda. However I make it with whatever I have onhand... Extra tomato sauce, mustard, hot sauce, cheeses, different spices... whatever.

Andrew, I was referring to what I found on Gerber's website. It just says "100% juice", but interestingly enough they have NO nutritional info available on their products. Hmmm...

What up, girls! I noticed that our list is missing Coleen (Dedivah) and Cecilia and LizzyD.

Meal plan today:
B- cheese (forgot to boil some eggs last night)
L- deli ham, provolone, celery w/ cream cheese
D- pork, salad
12 net carbs, 1149 cals

Not too exciting.

Martha, enjoy your lunch today!

Chelle, I use the Baby Dry at night, but I don't like how the waist isn't stretchy at all. I use Huggies Supreme during the day and like them. But, we haven't had any explosive poos yet.

Hi, Cyn, Jenn!

Melissa, take it easy at work today!

And Dena, if you are lurking, Good luck with moving!

Good morning moms!
Thought I would jump in and share a few pics before this place gets hopping!

I LOVE the list! It really looks great! Thank you to whoever fixed it up all pretty!
And we need to add the missing mommies, in the morning.

Jen- Sounds like a great deal you have there. Let us know how it turns out!

Martha- wow, Sweden! I didn’t know that’s where you are!
(did I miss something interesting last night?) Sorry about the extra few lbs. Buckle down hard, you’ll get it back off. Oh, and no more cheesecake woman! I cannot even have that stuff in my house. I have NO control!

Chelle- sorry bout TOM, ugh. But yay on getting your mom down here! You guys are getting along better now I assume?
And ROFLMAO on the poo explosion! Katie has some monster ones, but rarely an explosion up the back.
I’d go with the duct tape, but, well…. I am a bad mommie
J/K. Try the cruisers, we use those and love them!

Hi Melissa! Hope you feel better soon.

Hi Cyn! Thinking about you!

Thanks for the info Andrew. Oh and I am drooling reading about your goulash.

Hi Dar!

OK- here’s the pics real quick-

Someone LOVES ice cubes in a cup. Keeps her busy for like 20 minutes

Her TV and DVD player. I just ordered a corner bracket thingee for it, right now it looks kinda tacky on the box.

And this is our living room now- excluding the couch from her play area. I don't think she feels as "caged" in here as she would if we put the playyard back to the way it came.

And "the cabinet" she likes to play in.

K- sorry if I missed anyone. I will try to BB in a bit!

Have a great day everyone!

No problem! It was part of the same conversation. I was typing one handed and had a bottle in the other, so I kept my message as short as possible.

Speaking of pie eating contests, they had some eating contest on ESPN2 last night (and because Rob is a sucker for bad tv, he just HAD to watch). Why do they show that kind of junk on ESPN? Who decided that's a "sport"??!!

Alison was up late again last night (11). She did not want to go to sleep. The frustrating thing is that at 9 when she was complaining she was hungry, she'd get very distracted and not eat. Instead of fighting with her, I'd take the bottle out of her mouth (she was turning her head to look around and making a mess). She'd act hungry again, and we'd repeat the process over and over. So, she was up late because she was hungry.

Hey all! I'm going to jump in here even though what I really feel like doing is crawling back in bed and staying there all day. I'm feeling blue for some reason. Don't know why...it may be because my oldest is 18 today and I'm feeling old!

Every time I walk into the kitchen her birthday cake is staring at me! I want a slice so bad but I know if I give in to that, then I'll start cheating again. I can't do it. I've been good for several weeks now and I don't want to break the no-cheat streak I've got going!

Can someone change the list to include Emily's birthday? It's March 5, 2004.

Aw, Cheryl.

TO LANA!!!!

Is she getting anything exciting for her birthday? Is she going to be a senior this year?

And we'll have to update the list tomorrow.. you can't edit it after an hour posting.

Heather and Jen, I also wanted to say we're happy you are here with us... are you all feeling better? (Jen, I knew you were blue last week.)

Dar - Lana graduated in May. She's working during the day and going to school at night. I took her on a shopping spree at Old Navy this past weekend for her birthday and she bought them out! I got a pair of pants and Emily got the cutest shoes, but Lana got everything else!

Her birthday cake has cream cheese frosting, 24 carbs for two tablespoons. How evil is that!?!

Oh. Yum. That is evil!

Where is she going to school? If I'd have known better, I would have gotten a job and gone to community college first. Going away to a big university away from home was WAY too much fun (and why I flunked out and it took me 7 years to get a degree!). Of course, I met DH, so at least there was one perk.. albeit expensive.

She's going to business school in a city about 45 miles from us, taking some sort of computer courses. (Bad mommy again because I can't remember EXACTLY what it is she's taking!)

LOL, no problem. As long as SHE remembers! WTG Lana!

Dumb mommy question about the cloth diaper discussion. I really don't think I could ever use them.. Poopy diapers are bad enough. And I'm terrible enough about doing my OWN laundry. But, logistically, how do they work? I'm clueless.. I mean, they are cloth. Soooo.. they get wet... what am I missing here?

Morning mommies! Up early again today... and it is SOOOO hot here! I think it's supposed to be around 100 degrees today, and we don't have air. I may have to find refuge elsewhere!

Just have a couple minutes...

Martha.. What I loved about the cworkbook, is that it layed everything out by the months you should give the different foods to the baby.. no other book seemed to be layed out that way. And it uses a microwave dish (I used a large tupperware with a vent on the lid instead of saran wrap) to do all the cooking. It seemed much quicker and easier to clean up to me. It also tells you how to shop for the produce (which is good for a produce dummy like me!). The ones I couldn't get into were "Mommy Made and Daddy Too" and "First Meals" by Annabel Karmel... First meals is a beautiful book, but spent very little time on "Baby" food, and put really weird stuff that would be very time consuming. The Mommy Made book was just really poorly layed out and hard to follow. HTH!

Tracy... CUTE pics!!

Chelle... That is so awesome about your mom coming to visit for the holidays.. it will surely make them special for you all!

Dar- You "stuff" them. They have inserts and depending on you child you and the time of day you stuff them different.

I'm sure that Dawn will have a better explaination.

HI GIRLS! I'm still here, but things have gone from crazy to insane I've been working almost everynight, plus my 3 days, and I still have the Jamie, and Connor on tuesdays, and just picked up another little girl on tues/thur.

I'm way off the M/E thing, I did really well, but I think it just made me want to cheat even more then normal because I felt so deprived. Does that make sense? So I'm on and off, mostly off lately with all that has been going on. However, I'm still around 288-290, so i haven't done to much damage

I love the new starting post What else did I miss? I'll never be able to go back and read everything now/

Elliott started day camp yesterday for the next 3 weeks, then he'll have a week off, and start kinder on the 31st of this month I ordered him an LL Bean back pack this morning, with a matching lunch bag.

Judson is now rolling both ways, and has a tooth top left!

I feel like I've been away for weeks, but I think it's only been about 2

Mark's still fishing, and driving me nuts he's worse then the kids!

Oh and I did the netflix thing for Mark for his b-day, it's not really till the 11th of this month, but I used my dads credit card, and paid for a yr. well worth it We should be getting 3 more today, it seams like they only come on Big Brother days Gotta go get some stuff done, and think about what I'm gonna feed the heard for lunch. I'll be back I promise!

Luv & miss you guys
