Ladies: Yasmin BC pills
Anyone take these? My Dr just switched me from a different birth control pill. Curious if they cause any water retention or weight gain in anyone.

I am on these... they seem fine, but I do wonder sometimes if they are slowing my weight loss. Supposedly they are not going to cause weight gain but who knows... everyone is so different! I haven't gained since starting them but it seems my weight loss is slow even when I'm eating very clean.
Anyone else have any experiences with Yasmin? |

I've been on them for several years and I like them. I've never noticed anything abnormal with them. My doc said they're actually supposed to help with weight loss. I'm not sure I believe that, but that's what she said. She also said they're supposed to be one of the most side effect free bc's. That, I believe.

Way too much time on my hands!

I love Yasmin. I was on Ortho before and would gain 4-5 pounds of water weight at TOM and with Yasmin I don't gain any water weight and I actually can lose during TOM which I never could before.

How do you Yasmin users feel about it as an anti-androgen? I thought I read somewhere that it contained Sprironolactone? (sp) I have PCOS and hirsutism issues and am thinking about requesting Yasmin when I get back on BC pills. Do any of you have problems with androgens and feel that Yasmin has helped you with them? TIA.

Spirnalactone is a fluid pill (diuretic) and I too have pcos and I used to take yasmin because my doc said it was reccomened to pcos'ers. Never changed a thing for me. Still got the hair and acne d/t the androgens, then I tried proactiv for my face and it is a GODSEND! I get lots of compliments on the skin these days, no more acne. Also, there is something called vaniqua for hair problems, supposed to work ok but most insurances won't pay and I hear its pretty pricy.
Good luck ! |

I am also considering taking these so thank you for starting the thread! Is it true that it makes your bust size bigger? Just wondering...
And how has it helped/hurt your skin? |

Lol ..... cant say these ever made my boobs bigger or my skin better. Only proactiv ever did anything for my skin. They do however not produce many side effects, which is nice.
