~*~*Losin' the Baby Fat - Must be Good Monday*~*~
Had a pretty good weekend, considering ... Sat. we went to a house warming party, that night at our house was WAY to hot 80 at 12:30 at night is not a good thing. Worst part our AC petered out, not all the way but enough for it to be 90 inside our house ....awww man. Have to get it serviced as we have never done so in the 5 years we have been here. David swerved to miss a kid on a bike and the only place he could go was the median so he ended up blowing a tire, taking a chunk out of another one & now it is near impossible to get his truck into drive. So we have to take it into the shop in the AM. When it rains it pours !! Guess I will have to get out the check book for our equity line of credit , didn’t want to but oh well !! My sister and I went to see C&TCF this weekend.... it was really good !!! it was nice to get out of the house.... if only for 4 hrs (most I have been away from Payton) David was a big talker before I left saying that he was going to clean the house and take care of the baby, yeah right they where both napin' when I got home and nothing was done around the house. Oh almost forgot guess who slept for 9 hrs straight this weekend... wooo Hooo !!!Well hope everyone had a good weekend I will see you all in the afternoon !!

Hi everyone!
Hope you all had nice weekends ![]() Chels, that’s great that Payton slept 9 hrs! Sorry about the a/c and tire. Jeffiner, This is my last black car…EVER! Wait, let me restate that. This is my last black car, unless we get a chauffer/butler (rolling eyes) to clean it daily for us! Black looks great when it’s new, but shows every water/dirt spot and scratch. Hope dark blue isn’t as bad. Hi Becca, hopefully we’ll be back next spring…summer at latest, but will depend on DH’s work. OMG poor you with the poop! Chelle, I’m afraid Charlie and the Chocolate Factory would make me want to cheat! Glad you managed with Elana, though, I haven’t braved the movies yet. I totally understand you on the time thing—I’m planning to lose 10 a month and that doesn’t get me to onderland until April—not taking any account for holidays too. I wonder if I can keep it up for so many months. Mentally I’m thinking it’ll be easier to do it here in Sweden, because there’s less temptations. But hubby is always telling me to take it easy on myself, the other night he even suggested I take a week off now and then. He doesn’t understand how difficult it can be to get back on the wagon…I think he feels like he’s suffering from my diet (it’s not like he’s a bean pole either) I’ve also been depressed, so hubby says take a break. Sigh Ewww doggie French kiss! Melissa, I don’t care for white chocolate either…is your back better yet? I developed some sciatic nerve pain after birth and went to a chiro for an adjustment a few times, it really helped. OMG those wet cats are tooo funny! Dar, I’ve wondered about Logan having nightmares too. A couple times I’ve heard him whimpering in his sleep, then he wakes up screaming. What on earth could they be dreaming about? Is she getting teeth yet? Jen, those pictures of Murphy are so so cute! Logan gets his first shot today. I’m really nervous about what it’ll do to him. He’s been so testy lately in the evenings with the teething…plus, he slept through the night twice last week, and now he’s back to a 4am bottle. Sigh. The shot today is Diptheria, tetanus pertussis, Hib and polio, all in one. Eek. BBL |

Catching up on Friday's thread:
Chelle, you look awesome! I have the same kind of hair, very fine but tons of it--unfortunately, it's straight and limp. Oh, my grey (which are becoming plentiful) do have some body, though. Vanessa, trying to save $15 by buying HP in the US Pics? Here you go!This is my new favorite: His 3 month pic: And finally: Great pics Tracy, I love that last one, her eyes are HUGE! Emily, you're beautiful!! Mandy, WTG Spencer! Logan is trying, but, like Allison, will only take it to his side, which he's really digging right now. |

Ettiquite question:
One of my hubby's Swedish friends has basically asked if he, his wife and two kids can stay with us for a night. it's one of hubby's best friends and hubby doesn't want to say no...they live in a completely different part of Sweden, so we rarely see them. If we say no, hubby thinks they'll stay with someone else and not even have dinner over. The problem is they let their kids run rampent...even the dad's parents have anxiety attacks about their grand children coming to visit. Well, we only have one spare bedroom, but they said they'd stay in the basement and bring their own matresses. So, we have totally different parenting styles and DH pointed out that we believe just because you have children doesn't mean you stop being adults and can still have nice things. (sorry this is getting long) So, from my impression of other Swedish children raised this way, you basically plan to have every square inch within 3 feet of the child covered with something sticky or smelly or broken. How can I say "NO F-ing WAY"? without upsetting hubby? |

Chels, WOO on Payton sleeping 9 hours! That's awesome! Sorry about the truck, though. How scary he had to swerve to miss a kid!
Tiffany, I was thinking about you.. I hope it goes well at the doc's. Did Emily sleep well last night? Martha, do you ever get tired of hearing how much he looks like Alex? Everyone raves about Alison's big eyes, which I can't claim because they are Rob's. I think she might have my pinky, I'm not sure. Seriously, she's all Rob. Irritating! LOL... Have you seen anyone about your depression? Have you seen any of your American ladies lately?I wish I could help you on the etiquette question. I dread when the SIL and the youngest nephew visit. He has broken so many of my things, and she could really care less. She thinks visiting us is a vacation from being a parent, too. Is hubby a little leery of them staying there, as well? I mean, without much room, it will be hard. But, it is just one night. I know it's a chore, but can you hide alot of the valuables? More stress than you want to handle, I'm sure. Melissa, glad the cats got through okay. I've given up washing my cats, although I really should now that they are older - they don't really look after themselves. It's hard enough work washing the baby and the two dogs now and then. How's the back today?Ok, I have two QOTD's (I actually have three but didn't want to push it): 1. Diaper rash - Alison ended up napping yesterday with a poopy diaper. Not really like her, she usually fusses when she's wet or dirty, but she slept the day away yesterday (and didn't eat much). Anyways, she ended up with redness and bumps down there. Is that what a diaper rash looks like? I put some A&D on it and the redness started to go away. Just wanted to make sure that's what it was so I was treating it correctly. 2. Alison's also started kicking. Alot. She'll be just sitting on a lap, kicking away, or when she's getting a diaper change, etc. Is this because she's suddenly learned that she can, so she does it alot? Or is it a by-product of having a child that's been in perpetual motion since the moment she was conceived?! I'm so not ready for her to be crawling or walking yet (thank goodness we have a little while).. once she does she won't stop.. she is just constant motion. Meal plan today: B- deviled egg, piece of bacon L- leftover pork rib, celery w/ cream cheese S- cheese or deviled egg D- don't know, but probably some meat with zucchini & summer squash S- sf jello w/ cool whip |

Alex is leery of them too, but thinks they can go outside (or leave if it's raining) for feeding time and really wants to see them. I guess I'm just going to have to suck it up. Maybe I'll just have to knock back a few g&t's before/during/after their stay! Haven't seen anyone about depression, going to get together with some American friends this week. That sounds like diaper rash, but I'm not really sure either. Logan kicks a lot too, it's probably normal. BBL |

Morning ladies! Well, I think morning sickness is starting to hit (I've been good for the past two weeks). No barfing, but man did I feel like crap this morning! We had a great relaxing weekend. It was SOOOO hot! Got into the hundreds, and with the humidity here, it d@mn near kills ya! Plus, we don't have air conditioning... so we had some sticky sleeping.
Oh, and on top of that, Jason decides to get all humpy at night! Chels... 9 HOURS?! That is awesome... especially for such a new little man!! Good for you! Martha... What adorable little pictures! Sure looks like a happy little guy. I'd probably suck it up and let the friends over.. if it's only one night. Yes, gin is always helpful!! Chelle... Uh-oh.. I musta missed something with your lawyer... good luck! Oh, and Eli has had so many dog kisses from his two dogs... I think he gets more action than I do! Melissa... How you doing?! I gave Eli his first Mommy-haircut yesterday. I must admit, it looks pretty darn good! I just used a scissors, and went at it. I was SO nervous. Have you guys had to give Hunter another yet? Tiff... Oh, you poor thing. You must be out of your mind.. I know I would be too. Please let us know what the doc says right away! Dar... Questions... Yes, that is diaper rash.. it is no fun! Hopefully it goes away right away. Kicking... Eli was the same way.. from utero to toddler.. always moving! Now when is Rob's next surgery? Ok... BBL!

Yup.. better believe we did! Actually that was Jason's job.. he was to distract Eli with bubbles and stickers! We put him in his booster seat out on the front porch (so I didn't have to clean it all up!) and cut away.. then just let him run around outside and play with the hose to get the hair off of him. Not sure how that'll work in the winter!
We'll be thinkin' of you two on Friday... Is it a quick in-out surgery? |

Go in at 8 am, get the dye injections. Wait two hours for the dye to travel. Take x-rays to determine which nodes to remove (that's what the dye is for). 12:30 pm surgery for approx. 1 1/2 hours 1 hour recovery Go home! So, he'll be home that day. And I'll have two babies to take care of! Fortunately, it's on Friday so he should feel better by Monday when I have to go back to work and he has to take care of Alison by himself. |

Hi everyone!! Hope everyone had a great weekend. We had a busy one! It was my husband's company picnic - we had it at Burger's Lake - a small waterpark type place around here...it was so much fun. We kept Elizabeth in the shade - but got Christian in the water. He tends to be scared of swimming - but he had lots of fun as long as mom or dad was holding him! We (my DH and I ) just took turns - one would take Christian - one would stay with Elizabeth and then we'd switch! After that my parents (actually mom/stepdad) had their 15th anniversary dinner at Rainforest Cafe. All of my sisters and I and all of our famiies came as a surprise for my mom. It was a lot of fun for the kids. We were sitting right by a fish tank and Christian loved it. It was the best he has behaved at a restaurant in a while...and we were scared - it was a no nap day for him since we were so busy!
Well - today is an orthodontist appt for Meg and my step aerobics class. I am in mourning since this is my last full week off of work... next Tuesday I go back and am not happy about it! I love my summer! Chels: So glad Payton is sleeping for ya! Gotta love that! Martha - Man - that really stinks. I guess we gotta do what we gotta do but the extra work really stinks...I'm sorry - but hopefully it won't be that bad. Chelle - Love that picture! Hope work is ok for you today! Melissa - YOur menu sounds really good - I've been craving wings lately! Tiffany - HOpe everything is fine at the dr. and you get to see your baby again on the u/s. Dar - That does sound like diaper rash to me. They get really red around their poop hole...it that too much description for ya! Also - I think it is their age to be kicking a lot...Elizabeth is doing that too. It makes me sad. She was trying to get up on her knees last night when having tummy time. Dawn - Sorry the am sickness is hitting now! Hopefully you won't have it too bad. Sounds too hot for me! Well gals - kiddos are waking up now - I'd better go if I want to be able to exercise this am.

Hey Guys,
I need some advice. Sophie is having a hard time with finger foods. We started trying her on Cheerios when she was 9 months and she would just gag and then throw up. I've also tried mushy bananas and last night we tried those Gerber puff things. The minute anything slightly solid (besides pureed baby food) hits the back of her throat she hurls. Plus last night she actually choked on the Gerber puff and wasn't breathing. It just seems like she should be old enough to handle some finger foods but I know I probably don't give her enough opportunities because I'm freaked out by the choking/puking. Thoughts? ETA: She's almost 11 months now and I want her to eat some b-day cake on her 1st! |

Way too much time on my hands!

Hey Ladies!
Not much to report here...just battling some depression...not sure if it is PPD, but maybe since it has only been three months....but my period lasted ten days, my SPD (back problem) flared up and I can't walk without limping, looks like my incision from the c-section is leaking or something along with my abdomen feeling really tender (WTH? It's been almost 12 weeks and showed up out of no where), I'm exhausted from all of the festivites (house and wedding)....so I feel pretty freagin' miserable....can't even enjoy my son these days. Sorry for being such a downer...just feel like I don't have much to contribute here, but I have been lurking and I love the pictures. They cheer me up! Keep em' coming! This too shall pass. ![]()

My question? What would you do if you were in my position? I stayed at the table because I had my own baby to tend to, I needed to eat, and honestly, I didn't want to listen to another rant about Trae. I felt like a bad friend. And, would you have brought toys to occupy David at dinner? I just thought it strange he had nothing to play with. |
