Doc appt tomorrow
I'm 42 yrs old and for the past 3 yrs have had signs of menopause. When I was 39 I missed two periods which totally stressed me out. I got it the 3rd month and it was a doozy!
Now I am missing 3 or 4 months without a period and experiencing heavy flow with much clotting. I went to see my Doc a few months ago regarding a tubal ligation. Unfortunately last week they told me that they could not do the surgery laproscopically due to the previous surgeries (c-section & gall bladder) scar tissues. They refuse to do the surgery in the old traditional way by cutting my belly open due to my weight and long recovery required. What I have been discussing with my doc is something called Essure. They go in through the vaginal canal and insert a coil into each of the fallopian tubes. They also discussed doing endometrial abulation at the same time to cease my periods, basically they sear the inside of the uteris with hot liquid to close off the blood vessels. I have an appt tomorrow for an Endometrial Biopsy to rule out any other issues that may be causing my irregular, heavy bleeding and clot problems. Has anyone had any of these procedures done and can offer any info on what I can expect the first few days following them?

I never had heavy or painful TOM until I had a tubal
and I've talked to alot of women since who say the same thing. Something you may wanna ask your DR about - the tubal may make it WORSE. |
