Ortho Evra.....BC patch

Okay so I kinda heard bits and pieces of things being reported about the BC Patch.....anyone know the low down? I am on TOM this week so I don't have a patch on... I have only been using a few months now, formerly was on BC pills before having DD 2 yrs ago. I have a Diaphragm I can use, it is about 2 yrs old...There are no holes in it....I didn't actually use it all that much it was "too inconvenient" then....but I was starting to think that I would like to go a "non-hormonal" way of BC since I am 38 yrs old and We don't want to have any more kids, but I also dont' want all those hormones in my body either. I think the inconvenience is worth not dying from using the patch.
Any thoughts? Ideas? Suggestions???? HELP....

I read something about yesterday, I didn't pay too much attention since I don't use it though. They believe the patch is the reason for more than a dozen deaths due to blood clots.

That is what I heard from a friend of mine... she said she heard about it lastweek and there were a lot of young people dying. I am too scared of that stuff.... I will go without rather than risk it. Darn Hormones!!!!

OMG, I hadn't heard about this until I saw this post! I just Googled it & there are several news reports about it. Apparently the manufacturer is denying a link (surprise, surprise) but it appears that there is an increased risk of blood clots & stroke. I know there's a risk with all meds, but I'm going to see if I can find out more about this. (This is my 2nd month using Ortho Evra.)

I know, that's the scary thing about using new things in the drug market. I just use the old trusted IUD.
