I guess that shows how tired I am, I hadn't even noticed!

Anyway... I've still been lurking and wanted to say congrats to Daisy! Yeah!

DH and I have been discussing birth control since we don't want another surprise, especially not this quickly... looks like we're going to have a difficult time finding something that's right for us... we both HATE condoms, I can't take BCP (besides, DD#1 was a BCP baby), I'm BFing so I can't use the Nuvaring (which is what I wanted to use), we were using spermacide when we conceived Kayden so I'm not to fond of that idea again (though we had just switched brands so I suspect the first was fine but the brand we switched too wasn't effective enough) plus it's so messy, my weight is still too high to use a diaphram (according to the last gyn I asked, but that was a while ago), etc etc etc... we're stuck... we might just try charting with the purpose of NOT getting pregnant, but I've never charted before and it looks so complicated, plus I don't trust myself to remember to take my temp everyday, much less at the same time! I admire everyone who is sucessful at charting, such a comittment it seems. Anyway... that's our dilema right now. I know since I'm BFing I could have some natural birth control right there, but I don't know if I want to trust that, ya know?

Amy, charting's not that difficult, it just has to become a habit and you have to set yourself up for success. Put the thermometer and chart right next to your alarm clock. Or better yet, get a thermometer that takes a reading in 10 seconds and has a memory. That way.. alarm goes off, take temp, set thermometer down and start the day. You can go back to the thermometer later and write down the temp. That worked the best for me because the thought of turning on a light that early in the morning sucks.

Amy~ I charted for 2 years to get pregnant with my second. Two great sites for it are Ovusoft and Fertility Friend. Ovusoft is a paid software that you download & Fertility Friend offers free online charting (I used both & they're both wonderful programs! ) I did just like Dar said, I had my alarm set for 6am every morning, woke up long enough to temp, & went back to sleep. Then, once I woke up for the morning I would record the temp.

[Exiting lurking mode briefly]

I just wanted to respond to Vixen's post. I am currently charting for purposes of avoiding. It's a lot easier than it sounds, especially with the programs that Emily mentioned. I personally use Fertility Friends. Even though I just recently came off hormonal birth control, my cycles are pretty regular. After about two months of temping every day, I now only temp about 1/2 of my cycle - once my CM changes to possibly fertile (usually about 5 days or so before O), I start temping *every* day and using condoms. After I get my coverline (FF gives it to you three days after a temperature shift) I quit doing both. Every once in a while I temp just to update my chart. You can view my charts here if you want: http://www2.fertilityfriend.com/home/9b64a and you can see that for this current cycle I temped consistently from CD 11 - CD 20 and O'ed on 15. It all depends on how regular your cycles are and what other fertility signs you get. I would recommend getting "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Toni Weschler and reading it even if you decide on a different form of BC. GL and love the avi - Kayden is beautiful!!!

wow, this is amazing. Well my fiance and I are planning on getting married in March 2006. We would like to start trying for a baby right after our wedding. Wedding night, throw out the birth control!!! Unfortunatly, I am seriously obese. I always said that I would move Heaven and Earth for my children and I want to start now by getting healthy for them and developing healthy habits. I do not want to even attempt to get pregnant unless I am well under 200 lbs. I want to be pregnant and not over 200 lbs. I know I have a long way to go to get to this point. I need the motivation, and this group seems soooooooooo ideal. I pray that God gives me the strength to succeed in this endeavor.

Kasia~~ Congrats on your new marriage! I'm sure you are still in your honeymoon phase so TTC or practicing TTC should be fairly easy

LunaA shelly.......... May just be getting nekkid for her hubby period
No "may" about it

Our goal "Get knocked up" "barefoot and pregnant" allthough I prefer not to be barefoot..lol I know my goal will be to keep practicing knowing my husband that goal will be very easy! he's such a tart.

I started LC again on Monday, doing the Meat and Egg fast for a few days to jump start things again.

I don't think this was our month TTC wise, but that's ok I accepted it. When my DH finishes working over time, we'll have time to practice some more .

Shelly, your son is ADORABLE!!!!!! I hope you got find out about your Anniversary Present soon .

Luna~~ I thought I would help you along with those pictures.. You know a friendly little push in the direction of the bedroom of course (or anywhere else!) Your husband may thank me when it is all said and "done" or choke me..Either or! Ethan looks just like his daddy! and Jeremy tells everyone that he is his little mini me but that he has his mothers "big mouth" so now evertime I see a picture of Ethan smiling I just have to laugh.. I'm not sure what your smelling but I think I just got a wiff of a shoo shoo diaper On a more serious note... I am a few days late but since having Ethan my . has been off so I am going to wait a few more days before I test...

Kasia~~ You had me laughing when I read the word "scamp"! that fits Ethan perfectly I love your Avtar! very pretty. Just remember that practice makes perfect! and that continued practice is needed even after the fact you wouldnt want to get rusty

Maja~ Aww thanks! if this month wasnt for you I'm sure there are plenty of more months for the picking!

Hi to all the practicing mommies to be!

Hi Luna, thanks for the welcome! I am not sure about being on the list yet. My DH and I are in two different cities right now due to work. We see each other every weekend, but it's kinda tough to figure out the TTC once a week. At least, it is very good "practice".

Saying "hi" to the rest of the TTC group and possible lurkers!!

Hello ladies! I'm going to be lurking in this thread for a while. I'm not married, not even engaged so this is really premature, lol, BUT I'm 35 and know that my boyfriend really would love to have a baby if we marry and I know that my weight and age will be against me. I also have PCOS so I'm going to be lurking around here for links and helpful hints if my days of TTC ever come.

I went to the gynecologist today and she didn't discourage me as far as my age goes. She also recommended weight loss via low-carbing. I thought that was great! (She had no idea that I practically live on a low-carb message board.) =)

Luna, your avatar is so beautiful but I miss seeing your pretty face!

Daisy, it looks like you were the first one to "do it" in this group. Yay for you!!!

Shelly, your baby has the most magnificent smile!

I wish you all beautiful, happy, healthy babies...AND SOON! =)

Where is everyone else? Is it safe to assume that there's been a WHOLE LOTTA practicing going on this week?
