~*~ Losin' the Baby Fat ~*~ Weekend edition! July 9-10
Hey, girls, I'm up since we got home late and thought I'd start it out.
We had a good time at the game. We managed to get into the stadium before the storms Chelle talked about arrived. That was some vicious lightning. Scared the crap out of us. Right now it's not raining, just windy and the humidity is sky high. Alison didn't like the wind when we were walking back to our car. It was like she couldn't figure out how to breathe, she kept trying to catch her breath (pretty cute). My main reason for posting: Rob got his stitches removed today. The preliminary findings were that the cancer was 0.5 mm deep. However, futher analysis shows that it is actually 0.9 mm deep. 1 mm is cause for concern. So, to be sure, he has to go to Moffitt Cancer Center in a week for a consulation, and they will probably have to do more surgery. And they will use some sort of dye or something to determine if some lymph nodes have to be removed and to see if it's spread to any organs. So, not great news, but not terrible. As it stands right now, it has a 10% chance of returning. If he has further surgery, that reduces the chances to 5%. Anyways, did good at the game. Had a steak n shrooms basket from Outback (a teeny amount of steak, and gave Rob my fries), and then got a salad later from Columbia. Chelle knows what I'm talking about. Cals 1197, 12 net carbs. If I'd had known my cals were going to be so low for the day I would have eaten more! ![]() Plan for today is totally dependent on weather. The original plan was to go to Walt Disney World and we were going to get cobb salads for lunch at The Brown Derby. We'll see what the storm does. He keeps creeping west away from us. But, he' pretty big. Oh, and one more thing.. we stopped at BRU on the way to the game. My only intent for going was to exchange nipples, get some infant spoons, and check if they had formula or diapers on sale. They did, BTW, 20.99 for 25.7 oz cans. I got 4 cans and had $19 in coupons, so almost like getting a can for free!! ![]() Anyways, Rob's folks bought the bedding set we had registered for! We had decided we weren't going to get it, since it's so expensive, but they got it for us, anyways! I'll have to take a pic so you can see it. Ok, probably should get some sleep. Later! |

Trying to catch up on what I missed...
Dena, I had the exact same thing you described. I was too grossed out to post it, though! (I had what seemed like a TOM, but was very gooey, odd colors, etc. Then a couple weeks later I had what you described.) Not sure what it was, but not long after, I had a "true" period. Red blood, pretty normal (although heavy).. no brownish gooey clots. Since that finished, the discharge is all back to normal. Mostly non-existent except during ovulation. Hopefully this will be the last of the 'funky' stuff for you. Mandy, some ways I tried to keep Alison awake during nursing... strip her down to her diaper, tickle her neck, back, and feet, blow on her neck, change positions. Also, keeping a log of when he eats, has bm's, and wet diapers will help you to see if he's eating enough (and also help you to see if he's developing a schedule which can be so nice). Dierdre, we also used a thermometer to "probe the poop chute". It worked every time and Alison never seemed bothered by it. If anything, she liked the relief! But, make sure it's a rectal thermometer, not those fancy electronic ones. I think Alison will lose her hair. She seems to have a little less than she did. And when I look at my baby pics... I had hair at 3 months, but just peach fuzz at 11 months. Ok, gonna get some sleep. |

I can't believe I'm still up! It is 1:00 am here! But I think we are about to go to bed...maybe it is this wine cooler I'm sipping!
Anyway - I'm happy - lost another lb this week. Friday is my weigh in day - lost from yesterday - but since it is Friday - I'm claiming it! I think it is the weight training I'm doing now. I go to a "Muscle class" two days a week. It is lifting weights (handheld ones) and using a barbell and resistance band to music. I really enjoy it. And today (my class was Thursday) my butt is feeling it!! Anyway - not really following a plan until school starts up again and I am more on a schedule - but for now the exercising seems to be paying off. I'll take it! Dar: I hate to hear that DH has to have more testing - but at least they are taking care of it! for him!!Sorry I didn't get to check in yesterday - but my newest nephew is here! He was born by c-section today at around noon! He is 8 lbs even. And so adorable! I went to the hospital tonight to visit with my sis and the new baby. She was doped up on pain meds so mostly just held the baby. But we are all glad he is finally here. I'll try and check in later and see how everyone is doing. Sherry |

Sherry- Congratulations on the new nephew!!!! and on the lb!!!
Dar- Sounds like you had a great night, Hunter did that in the wind at first also. Andrew and I thought it was so funny... Can't wait to see your new bedding for Alison!!!! Well, sorry gals for dropping on you. At 10:00 almost on the dot, we had a big bang and then a flash of white light (which is funny because it wasn't raining, etc at that point, so I'm not sure what caused it) and one of the transformers on the main road exploded.....we just got our phone and power back at 7:15am...here is the weird part......Hunter slept thru the entire thing. Oh well, need to get some stuff done, we are heading to my parents house around 10:00am. Hope all you Fl people stay safe!!!! |

Morning Ladies *yawnnnnnnnnnn*
Elana didn't go to bed until midnight last night...then something woke her at 2am, prolly the storm. So she wanted another bottle and I woke at 4am on the couch with her sound asleep on top of me LOL. Guess she got some mommy snuggling time Hubby's watching the storm closely due to concerns of flooding. I for some reason keep sitting here as if it's another day LOL. We're supposed to take PJ shopping at ToysRUs to spend his bday money this morning so I think I'll call the store and make sure it's opening. If so, we'll go sometime this morning real quick. Looks like he'll probably be staying with us until Monday night instead of going home tomorrow night. Hope everyone has a great weekend! Sherry...congrats on the new addition to your family!! |

Dar~ I'm so sorry to hear that Rob has to have more surgery! Keeping him in my that everything turns out okay! Sounds like you did good at BRU! Sherry~ Congrats on the new nephew! Great job on the lb loss! Melissa~ Have a safe & fun trip this weekend! Chelle~ Hope you guys are able to make it to Toys R Us for PJ's birthday shopping this morning! Keeping fingers crossed for you that you're not affected by any flooding & that your fish problem is taken care of! Well, weigh in this morning was 206.0, so 3.8 lbs gone from doing M/E from Wednesday thru Friday. Not as good as last week, but I'll take it! Not sure of a menu yet for today. DH has 24 hour duty, so I'll probably take the kids out in the afternoon. Going to do regular LC for the weekend. I'm seriously craving something sweet, so maybe a legal treat? Hope all of our Florida mommies stay safe; I'll BBL to check in. ![]() |

Happy Saturday -
Ok, so I did a bad thing last night - 3 almond clusters from See's Candies. The only good thing about it is that they are all gone DH bought them and didn't finish them, so I felt it was my job to polish them off Yeah, that sounds good! I will say I feel so guilty for eating them, that right after I finished them I drank about 32 oz of water!Melissa - Have a safe trip to your mom's house! Enjoy your visit! Dar - Sounds like you all had a nice time last night. for Rob.GoJackets - Hi There! Sherry - Congrats on your new nephew! WooHoo on the loss! Chelle - Hope the store is open so you can take PJ there! Sorry about the sleep[ing last night! Kristen - WooHoo on the lb. Enjoy the quiet time while the little ones are sleeping. I didn't have that option this morning as they were both up at 5:45am Emily - WooHoo on the 3.8lbs in 3 days! Enjoy your time with the kids today! Not sure what is planned for today! I do need to get the car washed and make a run to Trader Joe's! Tracy - Thinking about you and your family! Wendy

Morning moms-
quick drive by- baby is down and I am finishing up some housework, waiting on this storm to roll in. Wanted to say hi to everyone and Dar- I am keeping Rob in my prayers Chelle- you guys are taking some hurricane precautions aren't you? These storms are so unpredictable. Make sure you at least have enough food and water to get by a few days. Enjoy that shopping trip! Wendy- awww, you didn't do too bad. The 32 oz of water probably saved you on that one Emily- heck! I would take that too. Any loss means you are doing something right. Keep up the good work! Sherry- awwww congrats! I know you are a proud aunt! Melissa- isn't it great when babies are deep sleeping through stuff like that? My kids, yeah, all 3, usually end up in bed with us for the night and noone gets any sleep! Ok, gotta run, million things to do. I am taking before and after pics of the house and yard for insurance reasons, but will post them next week. Should be interesting Will check in as soon as possible, have a great weekend! |

Good morning all! Well on the poop front, Audrey's not making much progress. I've been massaging her tummy and doing the leg thing.. My neighbor suggested pear juice and Chelle said prune, so I'll head out to the store to get some little cans. Once, my car isn't blocked in that is. Hubby is having electrical stuff done in the garage.. I think more power put in and a special generator plug. He told me what it was, but it kind of went in one ear and out the other.
As for the thermometer trick, I'm not sure it would help. She's pushing so that's not the issue... I'm watching a show about haunted hotels... Ghost stories are cool!

Good afternoon!
Tracy~wanted to let you know you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. I take it you are not in the mandatory evacuation zone? Dar~Yes, you caught me in time. Congrats on the in-laws buying you a new bedding set !Mandy~ I have to second everyone on the waking him up. Later on will be the time to celebrate him sleeping, but unfortunately now it isn't good for him. He should eat 8 - 12 times a day. Exhausting for you, but good for him. Wendy~ we use the Sam's brand wipes, but I have been too chicken to try their diapers because if I don't like them, I will have a whole box to finish. How do they compare to the name brands? Dena~ Love the new avatar!! Hey Dar, Kristen, Deirdre, and Melissa! Murphy and I have already been by the Salvation Army this morning. I dropped off a bag of t-shirts and formal dresses along with a bag of shoes. They have a great thrift store, so Murphy and I went browsing. I bought 4 almost new hardbacks from the Left Behind series for $1 each. Sellers at the flea market wanted $5 each. We've decided since it won't be long before Murphy will want to feed himself and make a mess, we should start eating in the kitchen on the tile floor. Our dining room has carpet. So we also went by a local dinette gallery. Here is what we want. To buy it off of this site will cost $310 (that includes shipping). But the local place wanted $454 plus tax for the exact same model and everything. I guess I will be ordering it onlilne. http://www.westfurnishings.com/chbrno.html

Hey Girls~
Just a quick post. Dar~ Sending you a pm. Tracy~ Glad you were able to check in! I'm keeping you & your family in my . Please stay safe! KJen~ That's a nice dinette set; we saw lots of those in the furniture stores in Germany, & the link you posted looks like a really good price (especially for shipping something so large!) Great deals on the books - I love the Left Behind series! Sarah~ Hi! Hope you're having a good weekend! Dierdre~ Hope Audrey's feeling better soon! Wendy~ I guess we'll let you off the hook since you drank so much water! Okay, getting ready to take the kiddos out to do some errands. I'll pop back in later this afternoon. |

So, we didn't go to Disney. We weren't sure when the next rain band would come in. Instead, we went to Bob Evans and waiting an hour for food! So, we got our meal free. Seems like a trend lately. ![]() I had 3 scrambled eggs, bacon, and sausage, and Rob ate my pancakes. Dinner will probably be steak and a salad.In-laws are still here. They tried to leave about 5 minutes ago, but we've convinced them to stay until the next rain band passes through. Moments like this (sun out, no breeze) are why idiots who are told to evacuate don't. Rob's playing Team America: World Police for them. MIL has a blank look on her face. ![]() |

Jen - I actually prefer the Sam's Brand to Huggies. We needed diapers and I was at target so I bought Huggies. With the Huggies I can totally smell the urine and can't with the Sam's brand. For some reason even his clothes smell like urine when we use the huggies, and believe me it isn't like we let him sit in a wet diaper. Need to make a run to Sam's this weekend for diapers.
