Morning ladies...

Don't know what I did right, but my back is SO much better today!! I was a little naughty and slept on my back for a little while last night. I had to. My hips hurt so bad!

My account managers both have no issues hole punching their filing for me - so that will help a bit AND my lumbar support for my chair came in!!

Tiffany ~ Glad you get a break!

Jackie ~ Glad the MS is getting better. That has got to be a relief.

Amy, the nursery looks great. I had trouble getting comfortable sleeping towards the end of my pregnancy too. Sleeping on my side made my hips and back sore. I ended up sleeping in my recliner with pillows propped everywhere!

Abby went to sleep at 11 last night, woke up at about 3 AM and then at 7 AM. I am very happy! She can nurse in the side lying position but she is not as good at staying latched on yet. We're getting better though! I just ordered a Maya sling. Anyone have experience with those?

Amy-Glad you are feeling better. Great pictures. It is wonderful to use something in the nursery that was yours as a kid. DS has a dresser that I had when I was a baby. Your cats look mighty comfy!

Luna-Good to see you, sounds like you are doing well. I never quite got my sling to work right, but at the time I was very heavy. Try asking Becca, she has a sling too! Good Luck!

Amy - your nursery looks beautiful! Glad your back is feeling better. I keep starting off sleeping on my side with pillows around me but it seems each time I wake up , I am on my back! Stress. I hope it's not too big of an issue.
Did the tinfoil work at keeping kitties out of the crib?
Lara- yay for your good night with Abby sleeping well. I have a feeling its going to be sooooo hard getting into a baby's routine.

It's a beautiful day here in Winnipeg, makes you wish for the weekend already. Hope everyone is having a great day and all pregnancy aches are minimal!
Has anyone had a spot of skin that is kind of sore to touch? My tummy about 2 inch above my bellybutton is a little sore but not even red. Weird. I assume its a streching thing.

She is still wearing 0-3 month onesies, but the legs in her 0-3 month pj's were too short, so she's started wearing 3-6 month. And her 0-3 outfits with any kind of leg are too short. The sizes vary so greatly depending on the brand, though! For instance, Rob just told me that he has her dressed in a Purdue t-shirt with jeans. The jeans are big, but not too bad since they have a tie waist. He tried putting her in shorts we just bought her and they fell off. They are each the same size!

I just got my lucky baby sling the other day. I've used it once for practice, and it seems to work well. It seems snug, but I guess it's supposed to be. It fits my body fine, but put Alison in and it's snug. At least it will keep her safe! She isn't so sure about it, but wasn't unhappy. I'll let you know how it works this weekend at Disney World!

Val ~ I haven't noticed the kitties in the crib/PNP since I put tin foil in it, so hopefully it is working. And regarding the sore spot, don't know if this is the same, but since very early on, to the right of my belly button, I always get really sore. Not muscle sore, but ouch sore. And, there is never any redness or swelling. Never asked my dr about it. I assumed it was stretching too and that it was normal.

Jackie ~ Yeah, it is nice to see a piece of furniture that was mine in the room. Sentimental...I finally have a use for it!

Luna ~ Woo, hoo on Abby sleeping almost right through the night! That is great!

Friendship ~ Glad you liked the picture!

Oh, I forgot to mention yesterday that I am a bit nervous. Our birthing class instructor told us to find out if any of the women on our side of the family had fast labors because that could have an impact on how we labor. Turns out my mom and both of my aunts had VERY fast labors. I am talking an hour to two hours - almost not making it to the hospital!! I'll have to mention it to my doctor next week - especially since I live over an hour from the hospital.

Amy--Your nursery is so cute. I love the pics of the cats. Where did you get that quilt that's on the bed? I really like it. What are you going to do to keep the cats out of there once the baby is born? My friend put foil in the crib before her daughter was born. The cat jumped in and then jumped right back out . She was trying to hurry out but couldn't get going on the foil. It was sort of like a cartoon. Her legs were moving but she wasn't going anywhere.

Jackie--Glad that your MS is getting better. Mine was better the last couple of weeks, and now appears to have returned worse than ever. I still haven't thrown up though. I just have horrible heartburn.


Luna--Hello!

vjfreddi--I can't help with the sore skin thing. My stomach itches all the time and I assume it has to do with stretching too.


I am starting to feel like there is no way I can make it until 12 weeks before I tell my boss. That's only 11 days away, but my stomach is getting so big . I can feel my uterus getting bigger, so part of it is the baby, but part of it is fat too. Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on how you look at it) I am not getting fat anywhere else. To me it is obvious that I am pregnant. I just keep wearing loose fitting clothes. But they aren't loose anymore I am trying to keep a low profile at work. I don't even see my boss every day, but there are two ladies in my dept that I worry will figure it out soon.

Louise, if they have any tact they won't say anything. But, knowing how "office ladies" can be, I think you might be sunk. I told at 11 weeks. It just turned out to be a perfect opportunity (staff meeting which we rarely have). The girls had already figured it out (and one already knew since I talked to her about benefits). It was hard to avoid their 'looks'.

Amy, the nursery looks great! So much more together than ours is!

Oh, and Lara, I wanted to mention that the outfit in the first pic is an outfit that was Rob's sister's. We're pretty sure his mom made it. She sent it to us, and we promised we'd take pictures of her wearing it. It barely fit. The neck was really tight.. we took pics and got her out of it ASAP.

The bottom outfit is a gown from Carter's. 0-3 months but still huge.

Louise - I didn't tell my boss until after 12 weeks and they had actually already guessed. They weren't upset about me waiting to tell because they understood ,but it does get hard to conceal. Especially since I was growing out of my normal pants about 6 weeks!

Louise-I was hooked on Tums with DS because heartburn was so bad. I hope you get some relief soon. Is there any way you can tell your boss and not the rest of the office until you are ready?

Hey Ladies!

Dena-Thanks for the post last night. There are actually a ton of people that give rice cereal in bottles. They don't recommend it because you really should do it supervised by a pediatrician because it can cause constipation, etc. Luke is doing much better with the rice cereal in there. I would never have done this before. My DD ate so much formula at one month old that she was huge and some serious rolls. We had to use powder and stuff so she didn't get infections of her skin. He was just eating waaay to much formula. He is much happier now and satisfied and still pooping good so I will continue. Hopefully we can slack off the cereal some.

SmileyAmy- Do you sleep with a pillow between your knees? It will help alot with hip pain. Try using a throw pillow that has alot of stuffing. That is what I did.

Darlene- the pics are gorgeous. I wanted to ask you...do use use powdered formula? I have some for you if you do.

Thanks for your thoughts about the work situation. Luckily my boss is the most clueless man on the face of the earth. That and I usually only see him once a week or so. My co-workers are "office ladies" as Dar put it. I don't think they would say anything to him, but I am sure they are talking to each other about me.

The only good thing is they know I am off Atkins (and have been for a while ) so hopefully they just think I am getting fat.

Becca---Glad to hear Luke is doing better!

Jackie--I need to get some more Tums. My mom told me that she had heartburn the entire time she was pregnant with both me and my brother.


Oh, I also found out this weekend that DH weighed 8lbs 14 oz when he was born!!! I was smaller, 7lbs, 6 oz. My little brother was bigger than me at 8lbs, 10 oz. DH was the largest of his sibilings (1 brother and 2 sisters). I have a feeling I am going to have a big baby.

I thought the same thing. My DH was like 10 lbs and I was 7 lbs 10 ozs. But when i had my daughter she was only 6 lbs 9 ounces. And I gained like 50 lbs w/ her. But she was tiny like my brother was when he was born..and now my brother is like 6'0 and 250. LOL

Louise - I kind of want a boy too. If only the little girls clothes weren't so cute! I have my 18.5 w ultrasound on Tuesday. Maybe it will be obvious. If not, we are not going to ask.

Dena/Becca -- I'm going to try and hunt up a study I just read the other day. Can't remember where I read it. But it was UN sponsored, and showed that feeding cereal earlier is actually better for babies than waiting - contrary to popular thought. I think the main focus was on allergies, but I can't remember specifically. I'll see if I can find it. Granted, it was not talking about early weeks, but rather saying three months might be better than the six they reccommend now.

I agree that there is no one-size-fits-all regimen for babies. It's not as if all adults respond the same way to the same diet, so why do we think babies must.

I think it's great that you guys are trusting your own instincts and working with your docs to find a solution that works for you. Must be hard with so much advice coming at you saying the opposite. As long as your babies are healthy, content and gaining weight, you can't be that far off, right?

So I finished Herm's blanket that I was crocheting. This is a minor miracle, as I never finish craft projects. Looks pretty good if I do say so myself. Maybe I'll post a pic later. Now I'm working on a cute little sweater and was very proud to figure out how to crochet the button holes last night. This of course when I had a ton of work I should have been doing.

Last night I felt two taps that I am 99% positive were the baby. The other things I thought I've felt were just little tickles and swooshes. Pretty cool.

I'm anxiously awaiting the results of my triple screen. I hope to get them today. I so hope I don't have to have the amnio.

Somehow this week, I have lost two pounds. I am not complaining.
