Baby Fever Club... TTC for week of: 7/4-7/10

Hello again and welcome! This is thread number two. To see last weeks thread go here ONE

Quote:
A little intro. My name is Angela. I have two boys (12 & 3). I am a homeschooling WAHM. I used to run the "Nummies" thread on breastfeeding here on LCFBB awhile ago if you remember that!

And I have the "fever"!

But I am trying to "control" myself and lose more and get healthier because I have had two high risk pregnancies. And I am sure this would end up being my very last baby.

So please feel free to intro yourself and I will start a list at the top of names and what number you are trying for and post it next week! Each week I will update it!

Mommy list for the week:
(I apologize if I get any info wrong... just post and I will fix it for next week!)

Hi all! I'm not sure how well I fit in around here. I don't think I have the fever YET, but I am very interested in learning how to stay on Atkins and be healthy when hubby and I do decide to have babies. We just married May 28, 2005!! Yay for us; we're goofy newlyweds. I'd like to be under 150 before I get pg but I think I am at a healthy weight now.

Speckle! Even just "thinking" about the fever counts around here!

Hi Everyone,

to Maja...I've been there and it takes time.

Well, it looks like this past month wasn't the month for us. However, I was at Barnes and Noble today and did some interesting reading. I was pouring over some books on how to up conception odds and learned a couple of apparently very basic things. You guys probably already know them but just in case:

1) After sex, it is a good idea to put a pillow under your hips and not move for about 15-30 minutes (I've been jumping right up to go to the bathroom and take my makeup off for bed).

2) It is not good for your husband to eat soy products while you are trying to conceive. It has an effect on male sperm that decreases its abilities by up to 76%. (My husband has been eating Kashi cereals with soy protein almost every day for a year and a half).

Soooo, with our new knowledge in mind, hopefully this next month will be more productive.

Hope everyone is having a great 4th of July!
God Bless America!

Lets not forget that orgasm is supposed to up yours odds after "insemination". There is talk that there is a biological reason that we can orgasm and that it helps "propel" the sperm upwards.

Shelly!!

Not much going on here, just waiting on TOM which should start in earnest tomorrow. While I wait for our next fertile window, I'm just focusing on doing a good amount of walking, lifting weights (not too heavy of course), and sticking to a low carb diet (with some fruit but no grain).

I'm around too, but since I'm lurking I don't want to intrude on the thread too much... especially since we're not TTC for a while.

nak

Thanks shelly ~smiles~

DH and I have been discussing TTC lately... for obvious reasons we're waiting about a year, but we're excited... we're planning on this next one being our last, and we'd really really like a boy... we'd be perfectly happy with anotyher girl, but a boy would be outstanding! We got a book about choosing the sex of your baby... has/is anyone tried/trying this?

And we've already chosen our boys 1st name... Payson... it's a family name, and Dh likes that he could call him Pacey.

You know I think if all those pregnant women can share their birth stories we should be able to share our "getting pregnant" stories. How long it lasted, how good it was..ya know stuff like that!!!!

I am currently having probably one of the worst periods of my life, I swear it's never been this heavy..I need a transfusion! I started Weight Watchers (am I allowed to say that out loud??) to try to eat a little healthier and I hate having to count all my points, write everything down. Tell me what I can eat...that's all I want.

Amy - your baby is adorable! Congratulations!

I'm lurking too - my four kids have been going stir crazy and so I had a day yesterday thinking, "Exactly WHY am I wanting another one?"...hope that doesn't offend anyone...of course when I checked on them before bed they were sleeping like four little angels so the thought went away... Let's hope today is a little calmer around here.

Jennifer-in-WV hope WW works well for you!

Jenn~~ If we got to share how long and good it was then are post just might turn short and sweet You can say WW outloud I'm sure there are a lot worse things to be saying outlound well not a lot but a few

Hello to all the girls that are still in bed TTC

The name of the book is "How To Choose The Sex Of Your Baby" by Landrum B. Shettles, MD, PhD

I hope it works... I've heard good stories of it working, but I'd rather hear it from someone I know, or at least *know* online... a first hand account, ya know?

Oh and I want to give the shout out about two types of pg tests on the market...

Answer Quick & Simple Early & First Response Early Result

Popular because they test really early but after the last week I found out that there have been many complaints of a positive that dissapears. Positive results should last at least 48 hours and these two tests disappeared on me inside two.

The lady that runs "peeonastick dot com" has alot of info on all the tests and you guys should check out the website if you have not already. Why oh why did I not pay attention BEFORE I paid double for those damn "sensitive" tests????

I have been getting weird signals from my body the last week and a half and I dont know whats going on with it!!!!

I've been having a horrible week . My DH is working tons of overtime and on top of that has to do homework when he gets home from work. And the bad news, I think I'm ovulating and we don't even have the time or energy to do anything about it . How SAD is that . It's bad enough that my cycles are about 43 days apart now . We're not going to be able to try again till like SEPTEMBER .

And ofcourse I turn to food for comfort, then I'm royally mad at myself the next day .

Sorry for whining, I'm just not having a very good day, and it's only 7am. THANKGOD it's FRIDAY!!!

Hope everyone else is doing MUCH better then I am .

Maja

Maja.........

If you still think you are ovulating you still have a chance. Pysch yourself up and realize it could be done in 5 minutes if you hurry it up!

Hey, you guys can take me off the list! I am waiting a LONG time before having number 2~

A combination of things has made me change my mind. My friend had a baby and her firstborn is nearly two and it horrified me to see how distraught she was that her oldest was upset and didn't know what was going on with the new baby. So my main reason for waiting is wanting to have lots of time just for me and Cassidy.

Funny you mention that LunaAshling . DH took a break from doing homework and we had some time to spend toghether. I'm pretty sure it was too late to catch the eggie but at least we tried .

I'm doing much better today though, I have a plan. Yes I probably woun't get a chance to try again till Sept, the way my cycles are, but that gives me a good two months to try to lose some weight and this time be more serious about it. So I'm on a new mission, instead of obsessing about ovulating, TTC and babies, I'm going to use my time obsessing and doing something about LC, exercise and losing weight.

I'll probably make an appt with my dr for Sept as well, see if he can do something about my long cycles.

THANKS for listening
Maja

Good Morning Ladies!

I have good news to report! It looks like I am pregnant after all this month!! I was so sure I wasn't due to PMS symptoms. My period was due yesterday and despite PMS feelings and some light crampiness it never did start. So, this morning I took a First Response Early Result test. There are definitely two lines!!!!!! The positive line is light pink but definitely there. Even now after nearly 3 hours it has only become stronger (just a bit but undeniably stronger).

I think I am about 14-16 dpo (never quite sure). I'll retest on Monday to confirm that the result is getting stronger. If so, I'll call my OB/GYN since she wants me on those lovely progesterone suppositories.

I just can't believe it!! I had a miscarriage two years ago at about 9 weeks so I am very guarded right now. Please pray that this one sticks.

HAPPY WEEKEND EVERYONE!!!! I can't believe it but by March I may be holding a baby!! What a wonderful b-day present for DH and myself (both March b-days). I was also due in March with my first pregnancy so it is a bit bittersweet.
