Any Breastfeeding mama's here?

I am lo carbing while feeding my 1 1/2 year old.

She is doing great, but of course she is not solely on bmilk either.

I find myself dragging come the middle of the day. I have started taking b vitamins, but still struggling.
Other than that, in the a.m. I am hustling and ready to go!

Blessings,
Kristerae

I am still breastfeeding my 7 month old, but I am not lowcarbing right now. I feel confident that if I was able to nurse him all day my body would make enough for him. But I have returned to work and I pump. I have heard that women who pump can see a decrease in the amount they pump if they LC, so I am just trying not to pig out right now. Once he weans, or is primarily off the breast, I will resume LC.

I could have wrote exactly this! Can't wait to get back to low carb when the baby is weaned though. I'm trying to stay away from wheat and sugar and have been losing about a half pound every week or two and I'm cool with that.

Nice to meet you ladies.

Ames

Hi Ames
That is great. Sounds like you are doing some wise things for now. And hey girl, you are still losing. That is nothing to shake a stick at ya know.

Hippiemama-
a typical menu...that woudl be tough because I eat when i feel hungry.
I can't stand the thought of shoving something down my throat in the a.m. and just dont eat until 10 or so. Then I have usually some veggies, celery sticks with cream cheese, a handful of nuts, or maybe I will cook some meat. It all depends on what is happening and what my kids need too.
I may have a snack during the day of a veg, or a few slices of deli meat and sliced cheese if I get hungry.

Dinner is whatever we are having. I plan a lo carb meal so we can eat and enjoy together.
Maybe mock chicken friend steak, pizza with no crust, etc...

Here are some ex of my totals from fit day.

Cal Fat Carb Protein

Wed 1895 135 37 133

Thurs 2643 198 83 147

Fri 1815 130 60 115

Saturday/Sun I forgot to do my fit day but Saturday I ate a HUGE salad at a mex restaurant so it had guac, sour cream cheese, steak chicken, etc....I jsut used salsa and sour cream for dressings AND I HAD NO CHIPS *lol*
Then Sat night Dh adn I had Tbone and salad and I felt great that day and also Sunday felt pretty good.

So I dunno. My carbs seemed really high those days last week-I did manage to drop 1 pound this week....

Does any of this info help any???

Hi! Are we starting a BF mom's group??? I'm still nursing my 22 month old. I think that's partly why I'm losing so slowly, your body won't let you undereat! Oh well, as long as the trend is downward, LOL.
