Women who have miscarried. TOM question.

First of all and more .

My question is regarding TOM, how soon after you lost the baby did your cycle start, and was it regular? I had severe bleeding after my miscarriage that put me in the hospital (from start to finish I bled daily for 10 weeks and ended up hemorrhaging). I think I had my first proper cycle last month but this month there is nothing. I know it can take a while but I need to be able to know exactly so that when we start trying again I know exact dates.

So how long did it take to get regular?

My doctor told me it can take up to 3 months for your body to fully recover from a lost pregnancy and resume cycles.

Thanks everyone, just worried that because I had additional problems it will take longer to get to normal. The Dr wants me to keep note of exact days and dates so if i become prenant they can monitor me from day one, my fear is of becoming pregnant later and not knowing for a month or two as with my last pregnancy I had no symptoms at all.

My advice to you is to start charting.

I miscarried in 2003 and I bled for 10 days. My Dr told me to wait 3 months before we started trying again but I got pregnant before my first cycle came. We now have a healthy 11 month old daughter. We did not plan to get pregnant again so soon. We had planned to wait for 6 months but got pregnant without trying.

When you chart you learn your cycle and your are able to guessitmate with very good accuarcy.

Mine was textbook. If I remember correctly, the miscarriage was like a period and I started my first "real" period about a month after and got pregnant again the next month.

I would think your circumstances would be different with the rh factor. Do you know if there are any support groups online with women who are TTC or have given birth with rh?

My period started about 45 days after I miscarried. However, I only bled for about 7-9 days with my miscarriage. Since you went through such trauma, your body may take quite a while to get back on track cycle wise.

Hugs to you!!

I can't find anything recent just lots of old things telling me what I already know. Not only do I have the rh- I also had extremely low progesterone so will need to know asap. My last cycle was 5/28 so I should have started by now but my body is so messed up it hasn;t which throws my charting right out the window, ugh just so frustrating. I would love to be a woman who just wakes up pregnant and has no issues at all.

I also had low progesterone and had to take suppositories daily during my first trimester. I think you should keep charting eventually you will ovulate even if it does take a while.

I'm in that same low progesterone boat and will have to have suppositories as soon as I know I'm preggo.

Yeah Chrissy! I hear ya on the "wouldn't it be nice to wake up pregnant with no issues at all."

Thanks all. I was just feeling sorry for myself. Yes I will need to be on progesterone tabs as soon as I find out I am pregnant, and because I am rh- and lost a baby before I am at a high risk for the same happening if not quick. But hey, what's life if not a challenge?

I'm sorry for your loss .

I had a MC in March and only had one period since then. Before then my cycles were 39 days apart and I could kinda predict when I was O. Now I'm just lost and confused . I'm trying to keep track but there is not much to keep track of .

My dr also suggested putting me on progesterone as soon as we find out we're pg again, and he mentioned waiting three months after the MC so we started TTC again in June, but who knows what my body is up to .

I'm sorry I can't be more help, but just want you to know you're not alone .

I had 4 miscarriages, then two babies (3 years apart), and another miscarriage three years later (a year ago.) My periods always started right on cycle after the miscarriage. When I look back, I can't believe I went through 5 miscarriages altogether. Each one was very hard. I have no idea what I did different when I had the two babies in between, they are such a blessing. Just the past 6 months I've started skipping periods. It looks like I'm going into perimenopause now.

First off HUGE

I am rh- also. I have had two miscarriages. The first was at 7 wks. Bled like a normal period then cycled the following month ect. Second was at 14 wks and had to have a D&C, had a lot of blood loss. I didn't have a period for two months after that one. Third month my cycle started normal again. Did they give you the rhogam shot and test you for the rh antibodies? They did that w/ me for both miscarriages and when I had Derrick. I have to get a rhogam shot at my next appointment in two weeks and will get another when I give birth.

Sorry, I don't know much about the progesterone problems. Best of luck to you!

(((Hugs))) sorry you are going through this.

I had a m/c at 12 weeks last August. I bled for about 7 days (no D&C) and ovulated 22 days after the m/c. Total cycle length was 36 days which was long for me but not outrageously long. We didn't TTC on doctor's orders but did TTC the following cycle. For that cycle I ovulated on day 16 (normal for me) and then I got a positive pregnancy test on Day 29. Charlotte was born on June 9!

For me I pretty much snapped right back into my regular cycles even though I was 12 weeks along when I miscarried. I would second the recommendation for Fertility Friend and charting. It's SOOOOO helpful.

Good luck!
