Hey, everyone! Check out the weekend thread for pictures of Alli's twins & Renae's little baby girl.

DH and I went to our all day Childbirth Preparation Class yesterday (Sunday). We opted for the all day class instead of the six week nightly class. I'm glad that we did because I don't think I learned one thing, very disappointing. The good news is that DH was forced to listen for a whole day. He hasn't been very interested in reading up about pregnancy & birth. I have been a little upset about this because he normally researches the heck out of anything new we decide to do, buy, etc......it makes me feel like he's not into having the baby, although I know that he's excited.

I better try to get some sleep. Catch y'all in the AM.

Grace ~ Yeah, my DH is the same. We are doing the weekly classes and all he does is whine about going to them. Last week, he was falling asleep!! I could have smacked him. I too know he is excited, but he just doesn't care about this sort of stuff. What are ya gonna do??

Well, DH and I went out and bought all of the things that we still needed for the baby. Sheets, diaper genie refils, sun shade, matress...and a few other misc things. I think we are pretty much all set now. We are just waiting for the dresser and we need to get a rug.

Funny thing...DH was putting together the changing table yesterday. He got the whole thing together and commented on how it didn't look very sturdy. So, he just kinda gave it a little whack and the whole thing collapsed!! DH had to take the whole thing apart and put it back together using glue this time in addition to the screws!

Good thing we tested it before putting Sara on it! LOL

Well, got to get to work. I have a dr's appt today and I'm leaving early. Talk to you girls later!

Hey Ladies! Congrats on the births! The pics are great!

Jecehkah, don't induce on Tues if it isn't what you want and if you want to induce another day, tell him you aren't ready Tuesday! It is up to you, he can't make you do it that day. Good luck.

Okay ladies. Sorry I'm back. LOL Does anyone else hate their boppy pillow? I have 2 from my last baby and I hate them. They don't fit on my lap right and are a PITA IMO. I should sell them on ebay.

Yesterday was the day from Heck. Luke ate all day long. At some points he was eating every 1.5 hrs for 30 min+. My boobs hurt more. It was hard because we went and bought pool furniture and the kids and my DH and in laws were swimming all day and I couldn't. It was in the 90's and hot so I couldn't even go out there with Luke and sit. I spent alot of time alone with him just sitting in the room nursing. I felt really left out. Of course I cooked for everyone else and than couldn't even eat. I could have let someone give him a bottle, I have some expressed milk but....

Kailean-I can't figure a way to get him to latch better....he just won't keep his mouth open wide long. I'm getting a better latch on the right than the left. LOL

Amy- Glad things are coming together in the baby's room.

Grace, sorry DH isn't into this like you want. Have you talked to him about it? Maybe he is just nervous? Sorry the class didn't teach you much. Did they go over types of meds, dilatation and efacement and breathing/relaxation techniques?

Becca, did your boppy's get squashed by the other babies? Mine is still nice a plump, but my friend's (who has a 1 yo) looks like it's been deflated.

Sorry the nursing is sucking for you. The LC's tried to help Alison latch better by doing some sort of mouth tickle. Didn't work, though.

Welcome to the world Corrinn Helene & Griffin Edward! what a precious picture of the three of you! Congrats Alli!

Mackenzie Abigail is so precious! makes me want to have a little girl! but then I think will I end up with a girl ..probably not 3 boys later and I think if I tried one more time I just might end up with twin boys Perhaps I'll just keep practicing... They say practice makes perfect

Grace~ Yes.. It was me that had poor little Ethan on the toilet...lol It all happened so quick that I didnt have time to do anything but catch him ..That's the first thing everyone ask me when they hear the story... "did he drop in the toilet".. I do get a bit ticked when I think about it.. I did go to the hospital and the nurse sent me home when I was dialated to 3.5/4 and having contractions every minute.. She said "Don't come back till you cant breathe through your contractions or your water breaks".. I tried to tell her! but nooooo.. I live in a small town and everyone knows "the story" I'm the lady who had the baby in the bathroom

Becca~ Glad to hear that you are doing good! I have two older boys and Ethan and was worried how I was going to be able to take care of them all plus take care of husband too! (the biggest baby of them all) but it's gone very smoothly and the boys have been a huge help!

Luna~ I havent seen you post in awhile and hope all is well with you and little miss Abigail Rose! Check in! after all we are a bunch of mother hens around here

Smiley~~ oh my goodness.. That would of been a priceless picture! I can only imagine the look on your two faces!! let us know how everything went at the appointment!

You know 3 babies later and I never took any type of birthing classes...Maybe that's why the nurses would get mad at me! I didnt know how to "he he he shoo" right! Had I of taken one of those classes I might of learned how not to have a baby on the toilet seat

Hi Dar,Dena,Chels! how are those bundles of joys doing?! I know I should make my way over to the other thread but I tried once and OMG! I really don't think I could keep up with everyone! I get lost after the third page ..but I do lurk often

Hi to all the mommies!

Hi to all the mommies!
Yeah, some days we get carried away, but personals are in no way required. Us chatty ones (because we are stuck at boring jobs instead of home with our bundles of joy) will answer anyone who pops in.. so feel free to stop by anytime!

<<<--- and this is what my lil' bit looks like most of the time, so I'm very blessed! She's always happy and sleeping 8-9 hours at night!!!!

Becca~~ You snuck in on me while I was typing my long winded post! I know how you feel! I'm not one to let anyone do thing for me and after I had Ethan I was doing everything for everyone..Cooking, Cleaning, Etc. right after coming home from the hospital not to mention the fact the my in laws were over everyday! I was exhausted and looking back I realize I should of taken more time for myself! when Luke does go to sleep take your purdy little butt outside and jump in the pool.. and cooking! tell everyone to make a sandwich!!

Hi guys,

I'm mostly lurking today but wanted to say Hi! and tell Gilbabe that I just got a different Boppy Pillow from babybecoming.com and I LOVE IT. I was so frustrated with my regular Boppy. The new one fits me perfectly and has made a major difference!

All is well here. Charlotte is latching better but only on one side!! ARG! Also her bf sessions last 45mins+. I know I shouldn't complain but it seems like it's all I do all day. Thank God for Netflix!!

I hope everyone is well!

Meg

WOO HOO, lgs!!! A faint positive still equals a positive!!! Many here will attest to that. There typically are no false positives, but can be false negatives. Congrats!!!!

Morning Ladies,

Sorry I haven't been here lately. DH surprised me on Friday and we just got home!

Congratulations to Alli and Renae. Beautiful Babies!

meme123

Little Gun Shots-Congratulations, a faint positive is still a positive!

Becca and Meg-Sorry all your time is being consumed by BF'ing. Hang in there, it will get better.

Hi to LunaAshling and Shelly!

Grace-Sorry your classes are a disappointment. I was surprised how much misinformation I got when I took my classes with DS.

Kaillean-The boat pictures are beautiful. Your vacation sounds fun.

SmileyAmy-I hope you have a good appointment.

jehcekah-thinking of you today!

Hi to anyone else I missed.

BBL,
Jackie

wow, you all have been busy since I left! I took Luke for a weight check he is up to 7 lbs 7 oz from 6lbs 12.3oz on last Tues. He was 7lbs 4oz when he was born and 6lbs 14 oz when we left the hospital. Smallest baby I've ever had! I feel kinda bad like I didn't do something right or eat well enough. His head is alot smaller than my other kids' too. He is healthy though, and the only one that has been BFd for this long exclusively so.

LGS-Any line is positive. You are PG! Take another test first thing tomorrow morning if you want to confirm, or call the Dr. for a blood test. Congrats!!

I just downed a french silk blizzard from DQ. I'm almost ready to go back to LC. LOL

Meg, I know about the one sided latching. I just can't get Luke onto the left side as well and it is making me sore. I pump more from that side now and nurse from the right. That way I can heal a bit and maybe he will get better.

Dar-I have 2 Boppy pillows. One is stuffed full and hard, and one is softer and not as stuffed. I don't think they are made consistantly. Neither is deflated since I never used them. The kids layed on them a few times. That is about it.

I still can 't figure out my slings so well. I have the lucky-baby and the mamababy. I can get the mamababy in a cradle position. I have a second sling but think I'm going to return it. I don't think I will ever be sling-proficient enough for a double sling hold.

LunaAshling-Never seen an Amby before! Pretty neat! I'd be worried though to let the baby sleep in it. My babies have all tended to roll over alot. Would be great for during the day though.

Shelly-I think sometimes the nurses in hospitals have a bit too much power. The Dr. listens to their reports, not yours and only comes if THEY call. I think I would have had my epidural if the Dr. had been called in sooner and the nurses would have listened to me better. I'm just glad I had a good nurse during the actual birth. They had a shift change 18 min before Luke was born. I still can't imagine having a baby in your house by yourself. Did you have alot of pain? Glad your boys are helping. My kids are doing pretty well.

Hey Trailboss, Karenb, Meme123! Hope I didn't miss anyone.

I ordered a lucky baby sling this weekend. I hope I can figure it out! I could really use it.

I also had trouble getting Alison to latch on the left side. Oddly enough, it worked when I switched to the football hold. I was using the cross cradle. That worked for the right side, but not the left. Interestingly, she takes her bottle with her head to the left now because we are right handed. I try to switch occasionally, though.

I am really really excited but also terrified since I had a miscarriage 4 months. I am not going to tell anyone until I have reached the second trimester. Last time I had a lot of people excited and I don't think I could put my family through that again. I am trying to stay positive and will being seeing my doctor very soon.

I have not had any sickness. I've only felt really tired and crampy like i'm going to start my period. Also have the sore breasts.

I know it is safe to do low carb but what foods are recommended to add into my diet? Currently I eat mainly salads, eggs, lean meat and veggies. I'm thinking of adding a lot more veggies...some fruit & low carb bread? anything else I should add?

anything I should avoid?

Dar, I've tried all holds with him. Football and cradle are about the same. He latches on okay sidelying too, but just doesn't get enough.

I'm right handed but feed bottles with my left, hold baby in the right. Funny, DH laughs at me. He is right handed but feeds with his right. I can do either but prefer the first.

Okay, gotta feed hungryman now. Ouch.

LGS, sorry I missed your post. Sending you sticky vibes!

I would incorporate some more good carbs. Multi-grain crackers and breads. Fruits..veggies. Maybe you should consult your Dr. since you have had previous trouble.

Best of Luck hun!!!

LC...

JEHCEKAH - If you don't want to be induced then don't be... You've lost your plug, so it can't be long now. BELIEVE ME, you will not be pregnant forever. I was 19 days past my due date, and have a healthy baby boy, who was my easiest delivery. Now, if you do go much longer, make sure they do a Biophysical Profile U/S and stuff... Just to make sure everything is okay in there. Most likely it is.

NAE - LOL! Big babies are easy... I have two that were over 9, and my almost 11 1/2 pound boy. He was my easiest of all. 3 hours, start to finish. I think it's a buncha bull MOST of the time when they talk about babies being too big. I'm not a childbirth expert, so I can't tell you that for sure, but I've known little bitty woman to have big ol' babies.

BECCA - I liked my Boppy until someone gave me a My Brest Friend pillow. It actually straps around you. Hank calls it my bumper. I do still use my Boppy sometimes, but usually when I'm nursing at the keyboard. I put the Boppy under the other pillow.

lcfortified-I am so sorry to hear about you loss.

little gun shots-Sticky thoughts your way. I added whole grains and more LC fruits into my diet. MS has reared its head for me and multi-grain crackers really do help out. I would also make sure you get plenty of fiber. Constipation is a very common problem.

Becca-Luke is gaining weight very well. Way to go on BF'ing! Your treat from DQ has me drooling, YUM! Major chocoholic here.

Dar20-Alison sleeps 8-9 hours per night ?!?! Way to go! It took me forever to reach that milestone with DS.

LunaAshling-I forgot to mention earlier that I think it was great that you started the TTC thread!

We went camping/mountain biking this weekend and had a great time! Suddenly I am starting to notice sore spots. I don't think it is from the biking but the air mattress I slept on. I remember being very uncomfortable at night when pregnant with DS as well. It starts already!
