Congrat Alli!! Welcome to the world Corrinn Helene & Griffin Edward!
You are up late Grace! Insomnia? Becca~~ When the paramedics came after I had Ethan they had to cut the cord (I still had not delivered the placenta) and the paramedic tugged so hard on the cord high up that it pulled Ethans belly button out.. It was a lot worse but I've been putting a quarter on it and it seems to be doing better.. I'll try to find a picture when he was first born.. Luke is just a doll! I can't get over what a gorgeous baby he is. How are you feeling? Last edited by shelly : 06-25-2005 at 12:20 AM. |

Yeah Alli!!!
Shelly, I'm doing pretty good. I'm really trying at this BFing and want to give up every day, but I'm chugging along. Luke is going thru a bit of a growth spurt and he is nursing alot. He just can't get his mouth wide open enough sometimes. Hope you are doing well too! Gals with rashes. Look up PUPPP online and look for the pics. Pruritic Urticated Papules and Plaques of Pregnancy is a rash that you get in pregnancy, usually your first, but I got it in my second. Some doctors don't even recognize it because it isn't very common. Hope it is just eczema and not this. Here is a link http://dermnetnz.org/reactions/puppp.html For those of you getting borrowed items for baby. Good job! Just be careful with used carseats. Make sure you know they were not involved in an accident (they should be trashed if so) and that they are not outdated. They should have a date on the back and I think are outdated in 6 yrs. Make sure they have the 5 point harness and not the old 3 pt. I need to get some nursing bras that you can't see the nursing pads thru. Driving me nuts, I feel like you can see bullseyes thru my shirt!

Good morning, Michelle & Barbi! Becca, that's good info on the rash. Thanks for sharing the link. I don't think that is what I have. I think mine is more from perspiration, yuck! I don't have any stretch marks yet (knock on wood), and it doesn't itch terribly bad, just a little. Those are some icky pictures on that site! I wonder how Jehcekah is doing. We haven't heard from her in a while. |

Just popping in to say...no baby yet.
![]() This is so frustrating, I had no idea! So on Thursday the doctor stripped my membranes which caused me to lose my mucus plug and to begin some mild contractions. I was up practically all night Thursday night trying to count contractions that would come and go and generally just being excited that it seemed like labor had begun. Boy, was I WRONG! Now it is Sunday and I have had NO progress. Only a few mild contractions here and there depending on how I am sitting or on what. Very weird. When I sit on my couch, I get contractions at 30 sec long every 6-8 minutes. When I move, they stop. I have never been so frustrated and emotionally drained in my life. I never imagined that having a baby would be like this for me. The doctor scheduled an induction "just in case" for Tuesday at 7:30am. It looks like this is my only chance, I just don't see my body suddenly kicking it into gear and beginning labor before then. Though I am deathly afraid of being induced and would give anything to begin labor naturally, I have given in to thinking that this just isn't possible. And on top of all of this frustration I am feeling, I have to deal with extremely insensitive family and friends who call me more than once everyday expecting updates when I have absolutely NO desire to speak to anyone. My parents are driving me crazy, I cannot stand it anymore. I have gotten to the point where I don't even answer the phone anymore and I only call them when I know they will not be home. I have tried to tell them time and time again that I will call them when something happens, but they still call me twice or three times a day. Ridiculous. Anyway, so I am expecting that Tuesday will be the day. Argh. That day also is my Dad's birthday, which I would REALLY prefer to not have to let my son have to share his special day with someone else...so that makes it more difficult too. Thanks for listening and I will be back with updates (hopefully positive ones) when I can... Congrats Alli and Renae!!!!!!! What wonderful news!!!!!! ![]() |

I just wanted to remind everyone that a woman can NOT just stay preganant forever. Does not happen.
Things will EVENTUALLY start! The body does NOT allow them to stay! If you truly want a natural labor then you simply must just wait! Docs and fed up moms have decided to take nature into the own hands now... even if it means "jumping" the gun! Congratulations to all the new mommies and babies! Dang they are all soooooooo cute!!!!! I am still here.... been "trying" to slow down my baby fever for a bit. Want to lose a few more pounds and get some more strength exercise in. I am also doing a round of "de-yeasting" which I think will help ALOT on how I feel being pregnant.... thought it was time because I am starting to smell oddly like bread dough (my skin)! Always a good sign something is "off". So I am "trying" to hold off another month or two...... yeah we shall SEE how THAT goes! ![]()

Congrats Renae and Alli!! Mackenzie is beautiful!
jehcekah~ You know you can turn down the induction. You just hit 40 weeks and there is no need to be concerned unless you are beyond 42. I would encourage you to wait if you are not comfortable. It is very common for 1st babies to be a little late. Ok...back to lurking. |

Hi girls!
Hope everyone is having a good weekend. Congratulations on your baby gir, Renea. She is beautiful. Jehcekah -- sorry this is so frustrating for you. I hope things start moving more quickly soon. Becca, thanks for the info, but I don't have that PUPPS either. Yikes - that looks VERY uncomfortable. Mine's definitely excema, and the corisone seems to be helping. Sounds like you're doing great with the BFing. Kudos to you for hanging in there! Is there anything that can be done to help Luke's latch? Hi to everyone else I'm missing. Here is a photo of Alli's twins! Corrinne is on the left and Griffin is on the right. Woohoo, Alli! They're beautiful! |

Mackenzie is napping so this is the perfect chance to let you know how things went. I take blood thinner so they had to time my delivery. When I dialated to 3 cm (which happened the Wednesday before her birth) they were going to take me off my medication for 24 hours and then induce.
So, June 16th I went to the hospital and they put me on patocin. By 6 pm, still no baby. The doctor said that it wasn't working and that they'd start again the next day. In the mean time, he was going to put some kind of cream on my cervix to "ripen" it. That was supposed to help me the next day when I went back on patocin. It ripened it alright. At 3:15 am, my water broke on its own. It took 2 hours for my cervix to dialate from 4 cm to 10 cm. We know that because that's when I started screaming for an epideral. I was expecting the process to last for many hours and didn't think I could do it. When they said I was ready to push, I was in shock. Happy... but in shock. I had 2 hours of pushing and Mackenzie was born at 7:14 am. Mackenzie, by the way, was supposed to be a small child. She was, in fact, 9 lbs 5.7 oz and 21 1/2 inches long. I'm still amazed she came out of me that way instead of a C section. When they say that the pain disappears the moment the baby is born... so true. I still had a little pain because they had to sew up a tear... but the intense pain of labor was gone. Now, I did this without drugs. It happened so quickly that there was no time for it. I recommend anyone planning to deliver without drugs to have an awesome support person with you. Mine kept me calm and breathing. Several times I started to panic and she helped me through it. My husband was also there but my friend was who helped me get through it. Looking back, it was all worth it. I will always remember that pain, don't get me wrong. But I'd do it again. I love my daughter and she is worth a few hours of pain. |

Awww Alli
Wow Renae! Glad to hear all is well! That looks like you had another little sweety! Man they are everywhere! Were there any concerns over what would happen when they took you off the meds? Do they have any effects on the baby after birth? Just curious... I have known alot people give birth on a lot of things, but no one on thinners. Just being nosey! ![]() |

Renae, thanks for sharing your story with us. I always learn something when moms post their birth stories. I really appreciate you taking the time to share with us.
Alli, great picture! Congratulations again!!! Jehcekah, I agree with some of the others. If you don't want to induce, give it a little longer, especially if you don't want your baby to share a birthday. I told my doctor that I am most likely not going to allow induction, unless medically necessary of course. She wasn't too happy with me, but too bad, it is my baby not hers. |
