Mine changed...whenever my eating gets out of whack (sugars etc) I start having issues with being late...for 3 months every other month I was 1 week off...weird thing is that last month, 2-3 weeks into low carbing...it reset back to what it should have been -- even the same day of the week! Weird or what?? lol
Yes, it really affects my TOM. I also notice ovulation more significantly with LC. Everything seems more dramatic but lasts a shorter time... Hope that helps Deb |

LC'ing has always messed my period up - it's not just you. As for the PCOS woman- my good friend has it and had a horrible time getting pregnant- after she LC'd she got pregnant pretty fast and has a beautiful girl... and is now preggers with another baby... it does work!

Mine went a little wacky for the first couple months but has settled down to a clockwork 28 days and all the bad symptoms have all but disappeared. It's like being on the Pill again, but minus the birth control advantage!

Mine only changed when I was LCing AND I overdosed on cinnamon. (Yes, it can happen. I took about 1.5tsp a day instead of < 1tsp) I'm on the pill too; spotting when I was still on the active pills completely and absolutely freaked me out until I read up on the phenomenon on the boards.

I've been LCin' for 2 years now. I skipped a few periods and feared I was pregnant. My TOM now comes about every 3 weeks instead of 4. Its still wacky!

I had PCOS and could not get my period without having it induced with medication. After I started Atkins, I got it right away on my own and have slowly been getting them closer and closer together. Hopefully, I will be back soon to my regular cycle before I gained all the weight.

I used to be exact, meaning every 28 days +/- a couple of HOURS. Now I never know when it's going to happen. I hope one day it normalizes. I've been LC'ing for a year.

I have PCOS/PCOD. I have frequently gone for a year w/o a period. When I eat LC, my cycle resumes within a few weeks; and remains regular until I go off LC. Imagine my surprise when, after 19 years of marriage, I discovered in Jan that I was pregnant! The pregnancy ended at 12 weeks but I'm sure it NEVER would have happened (especially at 44!!) had I not been LC'ing.

Mine have always been very regular and I normally only go for 3 days...seriously! That hasn't really changed but being on lowcarb I don't get the dreaded "bulging boobs"
nor do I have cramps like I used to have. BUT when I cheat I know exactly when my TOM is coming cuz the "girls" start swelling up.Now a year or so ago I thought I was really starting menopause but it seems the DHEA that I was taking was messin' with me. Stopped that and things are much better. Last edited by ClikChik : 06-25-2005 at 04:23 AM. |

wow verde! that's so cool you asked that question and i happen to come across it today. i just got over my tom. hadn't had it for 4 or 5 months because i have pcos and i hadn't been LCing. but about a week after i started to be strict with my LCing (induction to be specific), I got it, got lots of pain, and the flow was heavy (sorry if this is grossing y'all out!). suffice it to say, i was very very happy to get it. i knew it was directly related to LCing but didn't know if anyone else experienced any differences. oh and i was down to 195 this morning on the scale. down five pounds since 6/15 doing semi strict eating. i started kimmer's experiment today so my fingers are crossed.
otherwise, i was really really encouraged by some of the posts re: pregnancy. we're trying! i'm interested to hear anyone's else's experience re: their tom as well! |

my cramps seem to be a lot worse, actually, but I just have to tough it out for the first day.
