Alli & Jehecka ~ Crossing my fingers and toes for you!!

First off...wanted to say sorry for being so whiny yesterday. I know it is only going to get worse - I should save my whining for later.

So, feeling better this morning. Back isn't as sore but I think my siatic nerve is acting up now. Took another stool softener and had a few little poops and my stomach doesn't hurt as much - so maybe that was the issue.

Just changed my siggy and realized I only have 6 weeks left!! Seems like yesterday I was only 6 weeks pregnant! I thought I was never going to be one of those ladies at the top of the list. Look at me know!

Well, very busy today and I can't work late because I have to babysit tonight. I think I might tell her that after tonight, I probably shouldn't/can't do these long nights with three kids until after the baby. I am just nervous that if I were to be babysitting and something were to happen, what would I do??

I'm doing good! had my hands full with all these boys but I'm always checking in on you girls! I just can't believe you only have 6wks left It's funny to say but I'm just sooooo excited for you..Mabye because I know how much you wanted this!! you're going to be a great mommy!. You just glowed in those pictures you posted on the playground a few weeks ago!

I'm not sure about Ethans eyes.. I think they are going to cause him to have "manwhorish" ways I'll just keep my fingers crossed and my doors locked for about 18/20 years If little Miss Sarah looks anything like her momma you're gonna have to do the same thing!

I am so glad it is Friday. I slept fairly well last night and my cold is finally over. I feel so fat today. Ick. My 'fat pants' that I bought a couple weeks ago are getting tight. And I am not showing. Unfortunately, I've decided that being pregnant means I can eat as much as I want, when I want. That is stopping now though. I don't know how much I have gained, but I've been eating like a pig for a month now. So has DH and he gains faster than I do. So, starting tomorrow, he is going on a diet and I am going to cut back a lot. I'll still eat plenty, but I WON'T be going to Wendy's daily for lunch. Or to Dairy Queen in the evenings.

I haven't been on the site for almost a year. I had lost quite a bit of weight, fell off the wagon, and then ended up pregnant. Oops. I'm getting closer to my due date (8/22) and looking forward to the arrival of my daughter. After delivery, I'll hop back on the wagon.

I was diagnosed with tachycardia... fun fun, so I'm on heart meds daily. And I was sick for the first 22 weeks. Again, not fun.

My shower isn't until July 17th. I have all my "big ticket items" already, I just need the practical things and a pack and play.

I started birthing classes last night. That was an interesting experience.

Aimee ~ My pregnancy has luckily been smooth sailing. I never had any morning sickness or the usual symptoms. Still don't have any swelling or anything. I haven't gained any weight. I actualy have lost close to 10lbs. I assume more than that when you take into account the weight of the baby, fluid, etc, etc. I am moderately anemic so I just have to take iron pills in additon to my prenatal twice a day. I had a few spells a month or so ago where I was extremely tired and weak sometimes, but that seems to have passed. I was in L&D the other day due to back soreness which my doctor thought might be PTL, but it turned out to be nothing. Actually, I think it might have been some constipation due to the iron I am taking.

The only "big thing" going on is that I seriously am having panic attacks about how this baby thing is going to work - mostly financial. We tried for her, but now that reality is setting in and things are in my house for her, I am freaking!! So, I am meeting with a therapist in a week to kinda talk through my fears. I am still feeling a bit guilty about my fears and lack of major excitement, but I wouldn't change being pregnant with her for anything - so I am sure all will be fine.

Nursery isn't set up yet. We got the crib and are waiting on the changing table, which I think is coming today and the bureau, which is coming some time next week. I don't have any decorations or anything yet and we can't paint because I rent, but I will figure something out.

I had my shower two weeks ago and got almost everything I needed - at least all the big stuff.

Hello again. Today is taking FOREVER!!! Congrats on your easy pregnancy. I've actually gained about 20 lbs but 11 of that was in ONE MONTH!!! Oops. I'm back up to about 182ish. Which isn't too bad, I'm sure it could've been worse.

I haven't had any panic attacks about the baby but I used to be on medication for the attacks b4 baby. So, I feel your pain.

I'm going to be a single mom, so I understand the financial worries. The baby's father bolted when he found out I was pregnant.

Lets see, more about me... I'm 23 and a computer geek for Marriott International in Maryland. I've worked here for 3 years. I'm divorced.

More about tachycardia... My heart speeds up ridiculously fast, and then stops or slows down radically. I've blacked out several times which is somewhat scary. I'm under the care of a cardiologist. That was an interesting experience, sitting in the waiting room with people older than my grandparents. But I'm glad they finally figured out what is wrong with me.

I don't have a nursery. I live near DC so everything is VERY expensive. I rent a master bedroom and bath so my daughter will share the room with me. My family has been very supportive which has been a lifesaver.

Louise, glad to hear you are feeling better! I grew out of my clothes quickly too even though I didn't gain all that much weight. I ate a few things I shouldn't but nothing major. My waist just started to thicken first. You can get maternity pants without the big panel, for early stages. So much more comfy than trying to squeeze into regular pants.

I seem to be going through another stage where I want to eat all the time, like back around week 8ish. I'm sticking to healthy things, but still feel like I'm eating a little more than I need to.

Next week, I'm determined to be better with my exercise. I feel puffy from being so lazy.

I'm going over to a friend of a friend's today to look at some baby gear she wants to get rid of. She has a barely used baby carrier (Kelty Kids) for $50 - they go for over $100 here, so I think I will get that. My DH thinks he'll like using that better than a stroller. She also has an exersaucer and 7 strollers! Yes, she is a bit of a shopaholic. Who needs 7 strollers? She only has 1 kid! Anyway, all this stuff is practicallly new, so we'll see what I come home with. Problem is storing things until baby comes, our place is pretty small.

Did any of you moms find the exersaucer useful?

Another friend of a friend is giving us an infant car seat. It's fairly new and has never been in an accident. So we're collecting a few things already.

Part of me wants to buy new stuff for Herm, but it seems silly to turn down perfectly good used stuff. So I'll take a look at least. As if the kid will know if it's new or not.

Hey gals, just popping in really quick. Luke is nursing like a madman. 9 days old now so I think this is his first growth spurt. My boobies hurt! I'm having trouble latching him onto one side though too so I'm so glad I bought a pump. I got the $250 medela pump in style. You can rent a hospital grade pump for $50 a month but you have to buy the kit to go with it for $40. I figured I can sell this one on ebay or something when I'm done.

Shelly-Ethan is so cute! I love his little belly button! I think Luke might have a bit of an outie when his falls off.

Okay, off to nurse and nurse some more. Oh, why doesn't anyone call it nursing anymore? LOL

Aimee...sorry about the issue with the babies father...if you can call him that! NOT COOL!! At least your family is helpfull and supportive. And you have us here too. Rant away. Usually it is a bit more busy in here...Friday's tend to be quiet lately.

I commend you for going into this a single mother. You must be very brave. You sound like you have it all together - your baby is very lucky and I bet you will be so close with her.

Oooo...you work for the Marriott? Do you do IT for them?

Was the tachycardia brought on by the pregnancy or is it just coincidence? Will it go away, or are you on medication forever? This sounds like what my coworker has.

I live near Boston...so I understand the expensive thing. My mother surfed the web forever to find good deals - so we ended up ordering everything on line and small little companies.

I can't wait to hear from Alli & Jehcekah! I also have a friend here in Seattle that is being induced today. Her due date is Sunday, but she has gotten really big & uncomfortable. Her husband is an old friend of my DH, and they are having a boy too, so, hopefully they will grow up together.

Dar, I sent that link about bringing your dog to work day to my DH. He manages an office of software developers here. I told him that he should let everyone go home & get their dogs, and I would drop off one of ours. He wasn't amused. Oh well, I told him, "It's Friday, have some fun!" Sometimes I think he is just a grumpy old man.

I am struggling with the same thing, Kaillean. I want all new, but it is not realistic, too expensive, and it is silly anyway, right? I'm big on recycling too, so that is another reason to accept used stuff from friends. I'm just not sure what I really need at this point, and I don't want to accumulate a bunch of stuff that I am not going to use.

I work for Marriott Corporate HQ and I work with people all over the country and Canada from the "comfort" or lack thereof, of my chair here in DC area.

The tachycardia has plagued me since I was in middle school but they thought it was something wrong with my brain. I'm so happy to finally figure out what the problem is. Not happy that its my heart but I'm glad we know what it is and it can be somewhat controlled/managed by the medication. I will be on the meds for the rest of my life.

I don't think this day is EVER going to end. I'm ready for bed.

I know what you mean, Grace. I don't want to get too much now either. This woman also has a bouncy chair and swing, but I'm passing. My girlfriend who is due in August got both at a shower, so I will take Herm over there and see how s/he likes them before I buy one. The fewer large plastic items sitting in my living room the better!

But I'm pretty sure we will use the Kelty baby carrier and it's practically new, so it's a steal. I'm drawing the line at used cloth diapers, however. Just can't do it.

Okay, I have a complaint. I'm SO ITCHY!! I can't stand it. My excema went almost completely away when I started LC and now it's back with a vengeance. I don't know if it's just being pregnant or if its the extra carbs I'm eating. I kind of suspect I may have some sort of wheat or gluten allergy. I don't know but I've been scratching myself silly!

Kaillean and Grace, will you guys be having baby showers? I struggled with the new/used issue too and got almost everything that I'd have taken used (carseat, stroller, bouncer, etc.) at my shower. I think the only things we ended up borrowing were the crib and changing table, and we only had to buy a few small things new (burp rags, boppy pillow, some socks, etc.).
