Well, as usual, I am up late again, so I thought I would get us started for Wednesday. I put the changes that I made in color above.

Hey, Portia, we didn't mean to ignore you on Monday. Sorry to hear about your spotting & high blood sugar problems. It stinks that you have to go to the doctor's office all the time. I'll have to check out the Peanut Shell thingy.

I have a feeling that today is the day for Becca! We never heard back from Alli yesterday.....I wonder how the NST went.

BTW, thank goodness for Zantac! I took one yesterday afternoon and it was the first day in weeks that I didn't have heartburn. Yay!

Okay, must kick big dogs off the bed now so I can get some sleep!

-Grace

just an update for those who asked (posted on the LTBF thread)

Things have been going pretty good with Payton, although it has taken some adjusting. I am lucky he is a good baby. We are BF, it was a little bumpy at first had problems getting him to latch and stay latched figured out i was drowning him so now i pump a bit first before feeding. Tues i even went hands/arms free by using the Bijorn. He eats about every 3 hrs except for night time, he sleeps in 4-6 hr streches. Oh and when he went though his growth spurt.... now why the hell didn’t anyone warn me about that !!?? LOL As far as sleeping goes the first few days i kept him in bed with me, had his days and nights mixed up at first but got them strait within a couple days. Then he went into a travel bed in our room. Use the swing when he is fussy and I need to do silly things like go potty or eat and I cant hold him. I am SO torn between spoiling him and traumatizing him, guess that part of being a mommy ~~ The last 2 days I have been putting him down for day time naps in his crib, thinking about putting him in there at night starting this weekend, think 6 weeks is to young??? The other thing I have been doing that I worry about is in the mornings I know when he wakes up if I go pick him up and have a blanket to cover my chest (I wear shelf bra tanks 24/7 and if he feels my skin or maybe even smells my boobies he *thinks* he is hungry...silly boy) and lay down with him on my tummy I can get at least another hour of sleep out of him. He LOVES baths and that was the first true smile that we got out of him when David sprayed his tummy. I swear he was laughing tonight when I was feeding him and I was laughing at something on the TV. The other weird thing he is doing is starting to scoot using his legs when I put him on his tummy, didn’t think that was supposed to start so soon......

enough rambling, i SHOULD be sleeping .... off to bed !!

Chels, I'm glad to hear things are going so well. He's doing alot of the same things Alison was/is doing.. the scooting, laughing, smiling. She also loves her baths (finally).. she hated the sponge baths.

I also let Alison nap tummy down on my tummy, too. Don't fret over it. Emily lets Reilly sleep on his tummy all the time.. it's the only way he sleeps! Alison loves tummy time, and I'd let her sleep on her tummy if I weren't paranoid.

I also use her swing alot for naps and when I need a moment free. IMO he's too young to be spoiled, but I know others disagree. It's totally up to you and what you are comfortable with.

And I moved Alison to her crib this past weekend, but I could have done it sooner (since she'd been sleeping through the night for a while). I delayed it so I could get a schedule going after I returned to work. It took a few days, but she's gotten back to her schedule she was on before when she slept in her room.

acutepenguin - I saw your post last night. Talk to your dr/mw about your concern with the test result and the antibiotic. I also tested positive, apparently, but never knew it until post-delivery. For some reason, whoever called my house with the result told me it wasn't positive, and it was! However, I had a c/s, so the only issue for me was I couldn't be released until 48 hours post op.

Becca - Why??

I have my MD APPT this afternoon and possibly will have that done (if my StrepB test is negative). Practically everyone I know had that done before they had their babies. For some it worked and for some it didn't.

Morning Ladies,

My NST went well yesterday. The boy is such a squirmer it takes awhile for him to hit his accels because we keep losing him LOL. He must've moved again too. We go for another and final u/s on Friday. Only 9 more days until the c/s . I so wish I could try for a VBAC. I asked the doctor if I arrived feeling like I needed to push if he'd let me. He said yes in the OR. I know he's just humoring me though, what are the chances of me getting there and needing to push . I also got a perscription for a sleeping pill, I think it's called Vistril. I haven't been able to sleep for weeks and I finally caved and asked for some help. It didn't really kick in until much later but I actually got some good sleep from about 3-8!
Anyhoo, I had planned on keeping ds in the cradle in our room until he was about 4 months. I ended up moving him around 3 months because WE started waking him up LOL. I would talk or yell in my sleep and dh would snore and wake him up. It didn't seem to phase him at all when we moved him. I plan to keep the twins in the cradle until they don't fit together anymore. It's just so much easier to reach over and grab them for night time feedings. We'll see I guess, they're almost 7 pounds each already so the cradle will be getting small quick.
~Chels - the pictures are great as usual! I'm glad the bf is going well , it's good to hear a success story.

~Grace - thanks for remembering me . I'm glad the Zantac worked for you and you got some relief. I had HORRIBLE heartburn with ds and for years before so I know how you feel!

~Dar - It's always good to see/hear from you on this thread . I wish more of the "old timers" would visit .

BBL - DS is driving me nuts!!

Jecehkah- I don't want my membranes stripped because of the intense pain it is supposed to cause! LOL An internal to check your cervix is bad enough. I don't see stripping membranes as a very reliable induction technique. Plus, my Dr. won't do anything to help labor along until I'm at least 39 weeks which is Sat.

I had my appt this morning. No change in my cervix past the 2cm 50%ef. I have an appt. Monday at 8am with the Dr. that delivered my last baby to set a date for induction that week if he thinks it is okay. I really wanted to have this baby today...maybe my body will hurry up and do the work now.

I'm in such pain. The baby is turning around and now has his back on my right side, it was on my left side. His head is getting in the way of my bladder and I'm having trouble peeing!! I am in such horrible pain each night it is crazy. I have no room left for this kid. I can't even eat! No room! Other 2 were not like this at all.

Well I lost another lb. So I'm only up 24 lbs total. But I don't know how. My tummy is HUGE. I will have to take the camera out of my bag and take a pic.

I was strepB positive last time. I got an IV with my epidural and got the antibiotic that way. I wasn't in the hospital 4 hrs before my DD was born so I know I didn't get 2 doses 4 hrs apart. I have to have it this time too, because my Dr. automatically gives it to you if you are + once because something about the test not being so reliable. I'm okay with it though.

Oh Grace, I took generic brand tagament every morning and it helped me. Key is to take it every day regularly to prevent the heartburn. Once it starts, Tums are the best IMO.

((Becca)) Ummm....have you ever thought about Caster Oil? I used it for B#2 and had him 10 hours later. Girlfriend of mine drank the nasty nasty stuff at noon and I went to visit her and her new baby when I got off work at 5.

Good Morning Everyone!!

Chelsea ~ Love the new pictures. I love little naked baby bums!! They are so cute. LOL Sounds like you are settling in with Payton and are getting things down pat. That is great!! Good luck with the switching. I say I am only going to have Sara in my room for a few weeks, but who knows...

Dar ~ Hi!

jehcekah ~ How are you feeling?

Alli ~ Glad the appt went well - and I will cross my fingers that you get to try VBAC but I guess as long as there are two healthy babies as an end result that is all that matters.

Becca ~ Sorry you are in so much pain. I really hope something happens for you soon. What about that pedicure? At the very least, it will feel good.

Jennifer ~ I had heard that although castor oil worked for some, others it did nothing and just made them feel that much more miserable because or stomach pains, etc.

So, DH finally put everything together - the pack and play, the bouncy, and the swing - but now I am trying to figure out where to put everything!! I realized that where I thought I was going to put the PNP is right in front of the window where the AC has to go. So scratch that idea. There is no other place in the living room. Do you think it is okay to put it in the dining room?? The living room and dining room are connected by a big open doorway, and it is going to be litterally right there across from the couch, just in a different room.

I just don't know where I am going to put everything!

Hey Becca, try cleaning the skirting boards. It worked 3 times for my mom, she would get on her hands and knees and clean the base boards in the house and she swears it brought on her labour every time.

And if it doesn't work, at least your base boards would be clean. They are such a pain!

lol, you guys are funny. I might weed the garden tonight when the sun goes down a bit. It is 90 today. I don't think I could do the baseboards. I can't bend like that anymore.

Dar...Dr. said on Friday she thought baby was close to 8lbs already!!

I am strep B positive also. And I was one of the rare people that did have problems with my first baby because of it.

With my second I was given antobiotics a couple times when I was yet again having premature labor issues. I also had them IV when I went in for c-section. Talk to your doc if you are really worried and they will come up with a plan!

We all know that many things can only happen 1 in 100 or 1 in a million. That's great when you are that other million... but someone HAS to be that "one" first!

That's why decisions suck about everything! *SIGH* Which story or statistic do we believe?

As for the pack n Play. The good thing about having a portable play yard is that it is portable. You won't be leaving it in one place as you soon find out so don't stress over it!

I am also one of those people that none of the "labour starters" EVER worked for. Sigh again.

It's odd. Both pregnancies I had a real problem with preterm labor.... had to have the drugs and bed rest. But AFTER they did this both little buggers decided they did NOT want to come out! I kid you not! My first I was on meds for months and two months of bedrest.... so he decided to come AFTER my due date.

Second was doing the same thing.... but then I had a scheduled c-section. Now if you ask why it was a decision made in my early days of being pregnant. My first birth was VERY bad and I almost died and so did my son. He has permanent damage today from it. They knew my history and that my 2nd baby was going to be bigger and the decision was made to do a c-section.

And it was great. I am not kidding.

So if anyone needs to chat about high risk pregnancies, preterm labor, huge babies, bad or good deliveries... I have seen alot!

Here are some more pictures. Spencer has broken the 3 lb barrier! He now weighs about 3 lbs. 3 oz and is gaining everyday. We are doing what is called non-nutritive sucking once a day during feeds. Basically I go pump before he is fed and let him "nurse" while he is being fed through the feeding tube. He still has a very weak suck and horrible latch, but I attribute that to the fact that his mouth is so tiny and my boobs are huge! LOL Preemies also tire very quickly, so he'll give 2 or 3 sucks and then he falls off fast asleep. At this point Spencer is what's known as a "grower/feeder." He just has to gain weight (less than 2 more pounds) so he can go home. The average rate is 1 lb every 2 weeks, so we may only have about 3 weeks to go!

This is dh holding Spencer for the first time.
