Question for the ladies...
I am used to having my TOM for 8 days with horrid cramps, and I usually get it every 28 days, regularly. In April I started LCing and got my period on the 22nd for 1 and a half days, it was SO light and no cramps. I was happy about this. But I got nervous when I didn't get my period in May. Its June 10th and nothing since April 24th. No I am not pregnant, there is no way, trust me on that. Did anyone else experience a change in TOM when starting to LC.

If you've ever used birth control pills some of the hormones are stored in body fat. As you begin losing (melting the fat), the hormones are released and plays havoc with TOM and skin.

With me, I bleed/spot almost constantly when in ketosis. I was on DepoProvera for almost a straight 10 years and when I origanally started Atkins, they didn't mix. So my doctor switched me to BC pills, and I spotted for 2 months straight. So I decided to have my tubes tied last July, so no more homrones. So, all was good, but when I restarted this WOL, I started to spot again. To find out, by alot of research, I'll be like this for awhile. From being on BC for so long, I have alot of estrogen built up in my fat cells. Plus, we store estrogen anyways. So, I have about double. As my fat cells deflate, they release this extra estrogen, and BAM, tom is back. I been going about 2 weeks on/2 weeks off now. It's getting better! I always thought I was an odd ball here, cuz I was the only one it seemed to do that to on this board. And, I actually lose during tom, and I now know why. I guess, everyone is different and I am learning to deal w/ it. It's better then being fat. But boy oh boy, my DH hates it, lol.

My periods got lighter the more weight I lost. After my 2nd month of Atkins they were actually kinda textbook periods...3 days and not that bad.

For those of you experiencing frequent bleeding yoy may want to look into progesterone cream... it will help balance out the excess estrogens. It is over the counter...but research it first and see if it would be helpful for you . What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Premenopause by Dr's Lee/Hanley.
