Losin' the Baby Fat- TGIF!!!

Well, figured since I was up I would start the thread off for the day! Hope all you mommies are sleeping well tonight! (As you can tell, Hunter is having one of those nights. He decided to get up at 10:30 tonight ) I still don't understand this entire waking up thing. He didn't do it for about 10 nights and now the past two nights he's been up.

Oh well, weight in is in the morning...hopefully that will make my morning

Good morning ladies!

I ain't even gonna attempt keep up on personals anymore. You ladies are way too chatty! 174 posts!!! It's almost getting out of hand!

Dar - As I was reading yesterday's thread I was thinking the same thing as Elexis about your pregnancy hormones messing things up for weight loss. Just keep in mind that it has only been a few months AND you are down 30 pounds too. Let your body catch up for goodness sake! I want to get this baby fat off too, but I'm not in a big hurry. It makes me feel better when I realize that I'm down 35 pounds from the day I delievered. They say 9 months up and 9 months down....so I've got about 10 pounds to lose in the next 5 1/2 month to get to pre-pregnancy weight....I think I can manage that, if I can figure out how to get my body in balance nutrient wise.

Speaking of which.....I've added back in my potatoes again, but I think I may have to eat them later in the day than earlier. I woke up with a killer leg cramp yesterday that had me in tears. I ate 2 small potatoes with some Moron Lite Salt and they went away within an hour and was able to get back to bed, but dang it hurt! If I can just get rid of these leg cramps I think I will able to lower my calories a bit, since I'm not hungry. I just get dizzy spells if I don't eat enough, so I'll know when I've gone low enough on the tweaking!

It must be the night for non-sleeping children. My little guy was still away when I left for work tonight. He has been falling sound asleep almost every night after his last feeding for the past few weeks, so I don't know what was up. Hopefully, my husband wasn't up long after I left, because he looked beat. We had to finally give in and give Grant a little tylenol the other day. He was having a bad day, crying for no apparent reason, for over 2 hours. 30 minutes after getting the tylenol he was fine. I wonder if there are teeth about to pop. I don't see anything in his mouth, but the drool faucet in on constantly now and he chews on everything! Oh, and he finally quit chewing on his whole hand and is now sucking on just his thumb. I suppose that is a habbit that will be impossible to break. He is also rolling everywhere! You leave the room for one moment and he has rolled halfway across the room! I'm suprised, since he hated so much being on his tummy...and now he seems to love it! Guess we'd better get crackin' on the baby proofin!

Well, you chatty ladies have a great Friday. It is Monday again here. I've got to do an extra depiction for the tropical storm that is passing south of Tokyo so I'd better get going.

Ames

Did see 278 again for my bday today....thankfully!!! I was ready to see sig weight after that crap I ate last weekend. Plus, TOM isn't gone yet so let's keep our fingers crossed for some sort of woosh. I'm still havin a slice of bday cake Sunday tho with our friends

Kendall tried to get up around 10 or 11pm a few nights, but I didn't budge. I went in, gave her a bottle, and put her back to bed. I didn't want her to get used to thinking that just b/c she was up that we were getting up too. It's the middle of the night for God's sake, and it's bedtime!

Why the leg cramps? Is it a potassium thing, or you're not sure? Do you take vitamins? When I was pregnant I ate a banana a day b/c of leg cramps and it helped big time!

Good Morning Mommies~

What is up with all of the non-sleeping babies? Reilly was up @ 3am; since last weekend, he's been sleeping straight thru from around 10pm-6am. Guess I really can't complain since he's made such a turn-around with his sleeping. I keep being amazed at how different he is from Mackenzie when she was a baby.

Melissa~ Sorry Hunter had you up so late; hope you were able to get dome rest! Also, lots & lots of luck with your weigh-in this morning!

Vanessa~ Hi! Are you feeling better?

Chelle , , to you! Hope you continue to feel better & the doesn't make a return!

Ames~ Reilly's gotten a few doses of Tylenol lately, too. He's been showing the early signs of teething (I can't believe it's so early!) He's drooling all over the place, extra fussy, & chews on anything he can get into his mouth (I posted yesterday that he's been sucking hickies on his arm . ) Hope Grant is feeling better soon!

Lauren~ Hi!

Cynthia~ Hope you get all of your work done today & aren't too busy!

Okay, I'm gonna hit preview & see how many posts have been posted while I've been typing...

Whew, no one posted while I was...going to post this now.

HI Ames, Emily and Vanessa

Kristen~ Yay for your loss! WTG on being a "loser"!

Lauren~ The haircut is adorable! Oh, I also have a "Mackenzie", she will be 5 in July - it must have been a popular name around that time.

Chelle!!!!

Katie!!!

I think last night was Baby Full Moon....sorry alot of you mommies were up with your little one's also. Hunter finally went back to bed around 1pm'ish so I got about 5 1/2 hours sleep I think.

Ames- Sounds like the potatoes are helping you! We were a bit chatty yesterday huh?

Lauren- We normally don't budge, but these are full fledge screams that come out of him that don't end until we go in. I think that I need to push his bedtime back actually to see if that is one of the issues. He's been getting up later in the morning so maybe I need to put him to bed later.

Cyn- Good luck at work today, I have a pile myself, but I just don't feel like doing it. I should because I hate coming into work on Mondays with a big pile of things to do.

B- Green Olives, String Cheese
S- String Cheese
L- Salad with sliced steak
S- SF Jello
D- ?

Hi, Mommies.. must be something in the air or something.. Alison was up at 4 when she's been sleeping until 5 or 6. Added to the fact that Caena decided she needed to go out at 1 am makes for a sleepy Dar.

Fortunately she hasn't gotten really cranky with this whole pre-teething thing. She's just chewing alot, and thinks its so funny to chew on our fingers. She'll grab our fingers easily and hang on, but we try to put a rattle or a teething toy in her hand and she just drops it.

Ok, seriously.. will get some work done today! I think I'll avoid the PG for a little while so I can do that! LOL...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Chelle!

BBL!

I've been thinking of getting teething toys for Reilly & was wondering if he would actually hold on to it or not. The boy can't even keep his own pacifier in his mouth without someone holding it for him.

For you Mommies with older babies when did you start feeding "real" food? I can't remember how old Jessica was. What foods did you start out with?

Hi Dar-
Melissa- Great job on your loss!

Thanks-

Kristen- Hunter started at 4 months, but that is because he was grabbing food off our plates. We made our own foods, so we started him out on broccoli, cauliflower, spinach, apricots, and stuff like that.

I take my prenatals and also two calcium/magnesium supplements a day.

I was figuring out that I was eating almost 150% or more of the RDA of potassium with as much potatoes and milk I was drinking when pregnant. Since then, the only source really of a good amount of potassium has been from meat and eggs.

This in not the first time I've dealt with terrible leg cramps. There have been two other times since childhood I had them so bad that I was on crutches one time and muscle relaxers the other. I've had them off and on since then, but not as bad, but it is always in my left leg. It seems I get leg cramps about every time I diet, except when I was lowcarbing. The time I had to get put on muscle relaxers I was doing lowfat and under 1200 calories and had lost about 30 pounds. They did do blood tests then to see if I was deficient in something, but they never found anything. When I had them bad as a kid, they thought I might have gotten polio, but that came up negative. I guess I'm just susceptiple to them and wonder if I got some kind of weird virus or something that made that leg weak? Maybe the breastfeeding is draining me of something. It seems the potatoes do the trick so it must be a potassium deficiency or I just need extra potassium to keep them away.

Good morning!!

Okay... I'm down another 1.2 lbs!!! YAYAYAYAY!!! People at work are starting to notice. That makes me feel SO good!!! I didn't get my cardio in at work yesterday, but I did take Tanner out for a walk. Can you believe that is the first time I've ever taken him out in his stroller? Bad mommy, I know. Anyway, he enjoyed it and conked out about half way through. Then he slept for like an hour and a half after we got home! Gotta try that one again tonight!

B- Waffles, pb, sf syrup, turkey bacon

S- BFL Bar

L- Venison steak sandwich on whole wheat, yogurt

S- SF Pudding, lf string cheese

D- Not sure, maybe chicken.

S- Skinny cow ice cream

Melissa: Sorry Hunter wasn't sleeping well... that is so hard. Congrats on the pound! That's great!!!

Vanessa: You too... hope he got back to bed quickly!

Ames: You poor thing! Leg cramps are the worst! Have you talked to a doc??

Chelle: HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! I hope your boss doesn't give you trouble today. Yay on 278!!

Lauren: Her hair is darling! I love it!!

Cyn: I hope you get caught up today! It so nice having you around!!

Emily: Hi there! I hope your little guy gets his schedule back in line.

Dar: Don't you just love dogs? We had to put our dogs to bed downstairs when we found out we were pregnant. They used to sleep in our beds. It was just too much. So we set them up a cozy bed, food, water, and dog door and they sleep in our laundry room. Works great!

Kristen: Good question... I'm wondering the same thing.
