Morning ladies,
Heading off to another OB appointment soon. I go twice a week now. He wants to keep a close eye on me for preeclampsia(sp). I looked up the spelling and it comes up no matter how I put it in the engine LOL.
SIL is bringing dinner over tonight because dh is working. It's so weird having everyone help me. They always are there but I've never been one to ask for help... until now. I just have such a hard time moving around and stuff. I'm very fortunate to have such great family and friends. Oh boy, do I sound hormonal or what? I think I may cry LOL.

Morning ladies...

Still worried about DH, but I figure worrying isn't going to change anything, so now we just wait for word. Thanks for your kind words yesterday.

Alli ~ That is great that you are getting so much help. You deserve it! I am beginning to get so uncomfy with just one...I can't imagine two. You are so positive about this. Yeah for you.

Dar ~ Hi there!

So, I am getting a bit worried about an hour commute with no AC in my car! We are just starting to hit that warm weather and this morning it was 75 and muggy and I thought I was going to die!! There was no breeze what so ever and then I realized...OMG, it's only going to get worse!!

So, that is my rant for this morning.

BBL!

Lotsa water and planned potty stops!! If you find yourself dehydrated in the heat, you will put yourself into false labor. Water is the only thing saved me the summer in FLA working outside 8 hours

SmileyAmy-Get a clip on, battery operated fan for your car. If you can't find one I know they have them at One Step Ahead dot com. I bought them for my kids when we went to Disney. If you can keep the air flowing do so. Take a cooler with cold water too. You need to stay hydrated, dehydration can bring on pre-term or false labor.

Dar- from yesterday, yes them pushing on your tummy hurts. Probably worse for you since you had a C-section. BFing helping expell all the nasties too. I had tremendous pain when I had clots right after Alyssa. I'm making sure they use a straight cath right after I have her this time!

Alli- We are all so proud of you and happy for you that this pregnancy is going well. I am MISERABLE now, I can't imagine how you feel. Glad you are trying to BF the twins. Did you see the slings at maya wrap? May be helpful for BFing twins! You can nestle them both in there! I'm still not figuring out these Mamababy Slings too well. I tried using my DDs water baby doll, but didn't go so well. Still feels too small.

Okay ladies, gross disclosure of the day.

When you go into labor or at least when the head starts causing pressure, YOU WILL have diarrehea. No doubt, can't stop it. Wait until you have this to have your epidural if you can. LOL

After you have the baby, and you are in the hospital, you will be a slave to your pads and your bed liner thingys. You will have to get your tushie to the potty and experience gushes like no other. It is perfectly normal to pass what you may think are huge clots. Huge to a nurse is baby sized, so don't worry and don't say huge to the nurse. LOL Upon standing you may feel lightheaded due to loss of blood/fluid. If you have visitors...kick 'em out when you have to go potty, just makes things easier. If they don't give you a squirt bottle, a bottle of dermaplast, a thingy of tucks and a tube of dibucaine (hemmy cream) ask for it. They will bill you for it anyway.

You will have the worst period of your life for up to a month+ after giving birth. Stock up on pads while they are on sale. Long pads with wings are great.

If you are BFing you will experience intense cramping when baby starts suckling. This is your uterus contracting, expelling the gunk and getting smaller. It is a good thing but if it is bad they will give you some Naproxen sodium/alleve/aniprox.

If you are baby clueless like I was with my first. Tell the nurse that brings you your baby and ask them to show you how to change the diaper etc. Have them show DH too. It isn't as instictive as you think. LOL

Oh, and bring gifts for the maternity nurses. They will bring you more drinks and ice and you won't have to wait for the drink cart/snack cart volunteer.

Oh, another thing. Ask for some milk of magnesia and take it. You will probably need it. Also, choose cereal like raisin bran for breakfast instead of yucky hospital eggs. Drink lots and lots of water...cuz if you don't pee alot...they will make you measure it. LOL

Okay, gross disclosure of the day over. Hope it helps some of you know what to expect. Hope it doesn't scare anyone away! CUZ...its too late now!!!

Good morning!

Alli--Glad to hear you are getting some help! Good luck at your appointment.

Hello, Dar and Michelle!

Amy--Sorry it is getting so hot in the car. I hope you like the crib! When will you see it?

Becca--Your posts are interesting! I like them. I am not too grossed out. Are you still havig regular contractions?

Well, I ended up feeling pretty well all day yesterday, and then I started worrying something was wrong. Ick. Then I had a horrible, graphic dream that I lost the baby. I woke up feeling really sad . Today I am tired but what is new? I went to bed sort of late. I think I finally fell asleep around 10:30. I went to bed at 9:15, but couldn't fall asleep. I am a MAJOR worrier, so this really isn't anything new, but now that I need sleep more than ever it is really frustrating.

We are telling my best friend this weekend! Well, Monday actually. We are going to go see Dave Matthews Band on Sunday and Monday night. Our friends are just going on Monday night. I am nervous about telling her even though she knew we were trying. They TTC for 2 years before they got pregnant with their daughter. I guess I feel a little guilty that it really only took us one serious month of trying. I am still excited about telling them though.

Okay, falling asleep. I think I'll try to take a 5 min. nap at my desk.

Hmmm...I will have to find one of those fans! Although, there is nothing like hot air being blown in your face!

Michelle ~ Water!! Got it...I am trying to keep a list of all these tips you pros offer!

Becca ~ You and your tips...they are so helpful. Although I have to admit sometimes my initial reaction is !! But like you said, it's too late now! LOL How powerful are those fans??

Louise ~ Sorry about the dream. I never had one like that, but I did get nervous all the time that maybe something was wrong, so I understand. Sorry you are still so tired too. Maybe you can catch up this weekend?? My FIL is going to try to pick up the crib tonight, but it probably won't be put together for atleast a few days or weeks knowing DH!! LOL But at least I will get an idea. Still don't know what is going on with a bureau. Oh well, we will figure it out. Have fun at DMB!!

Talk to you guys later!

Hey, have we heard from Luna recently??

Louise, I rented a fetal heart monitor to use at home. It really helped calm me down, when I didn't "feel pregnant" in the earlier months. Also, I had some extreme pain at around 16-17 weeks (degenerating fibroids), another time when I was glad to know that the baby was okay. Now I feel my little boy kicking every day, so I don't use the Doppler as much. But, it is still nice to have, just in case. I recommend getting one with a display that tells you the baby's heart rate. I rented from babybeat dot com and have had a good experience so far.

Becca, I LOVE your honesty about what really happens. Keep it coming!

Alli, you're my hero! I can't believe you are still sticking it out. Great job!!!

Good morning all.

Louise- I am definately a worrier as well and have had many vivid ,strange dreams over the last couple months. Apparantly a hormone side effect as I don't usually remember dreams, but also apparantly normal.
Becca - Great information. Always good to know what's ahead, even if it's the yucky stuff. Thanks from this first time mom for sure.
Hope everyone has a great day.

Hi,

Louise-My MS has calmed down this week as well. That or I am managing it better. Hopefully our bodies are getting used to these extra hormones.

Amy-Glad you are not worrying as much. Do you have slow commute? I hate AC (not that we need it here) so I always have the windows down. Have fun setting up the crib!

Alli-Have a good appointment. Sounds like you have a great family that is willing to help out.

Hi Darlene and Michelle.

Becca-Good advice! Thankfully I didn't have diarrehea. Also the pushing on the stomach was not that painful for me. Just highly annoying at 3:00 AM!

Ketosisgirl-I can't wait to feel the kicking. Have a great day.

vjfreddi-Hi

Thinking of Meg and Luna today!

Not much to report here, just getting ready for a busy weekend.

Trailboss...yeah...put it this way...if I were to drive to work, with no traffic, say on a Saturday afternoon, it would probably take me 25 minutes. During the week and the crazy commute and traffic, it takes me almost an hour. And, especially on the way home - stop and go the whole 25 miles.

Back from the OB. He was in L&D all morning so I had time to do a few things before I saw him. He is still impressed with the pregnancy and says things couldn't be better. My bp is still okay and I only have a tiny bit of protein in my urine. He said to start expecting contractions anytime.
DH is taking DS to the Catskill Game Farm on Monday (it's kind of like a zoo), so I made pedicure and fill appointments for my mom and I that day . The last time we had a pedicure together was right before ds was born. I was actually in labor and getting a fill at the same time with ds. I went in, got checked they said it would be awhile and I asked about getting my nails done and they said go for it so I did. The nail tech was going so fast LOL. He kept saying "we don't do babies here" LOL.

~Amy - that sucks about the long commute. I agree with the others get the fan and put a bag of ice in front of it maybe it'll be cool air and drink lots of water.

~Trailboss - Don't do too much over the weekend. Over-doing it one day can set you back several.

~Hi Vjf

~Ketosisgirl - I've heard of a few people that felt better after renting the doppler. Thanks for the pregnancy compliments .

~Louise - I had a few dreams like that with ds, but I've been okay this pregnancy so far. Probably because I'm up half the night and not getting into the good REMs .

~Becca - You're grossing me out! Just kidding . I love reading your tips, I think it's great. I keep forgetting to tell you, I found this AWESOME cream for the itchies (not crotch, just general). It's called Sarna and it works wonderful. It's mostly menthol and camphor (I wouldn't try it down below). I rub it on my belly and other itchy spots before I go to bed and after my shower in the morning and it works wonders.

~Hi Dar and Chelle

I have heard that manis and pedis bring on labor because of the reflexology involved. You only have two weeks until your scheduled c-section (if you make it that long)!

My weekend is not real bad. I just have to be an early riser! Like 5:00AM. We are going to a hot air balloon event. Dozens of hot air balloons take off with a beautiful mountain range as the backdrop. It really is breathtaking. DS loves it.

Hi ladies.

I have been having contractions yesterday and today but they are not regular and I am so miserable. So I am planning to go to the hospital tonight for an induction.

Sorry for no personals right now. Hope everyone is doing well. My mother keeps staring at me like the baby is about to burst out! Sometimes it feels like she is.

Luna! Here's wishing you real labor between now and your trip to be induced tonight. This is probably the very beginning stages of labor for ya. Sorry you are feeling yucky. Sending you lots of whooshie fast labor vibes!!

Maybe I should go get a pedicure and a manicure!!

Luna ~ Good luck!! Woo, hoo. Hope all goes well and I can't wait to hear all about it!

Alli ~ My old nail lady would refuse to do pedicures on women who were very pregnant because she had several occasions where she would give them a pedi and sure enough, within a short time, they went into labor!

Good morning all.

Alli~ I wanted to congratulate you on doing so well with the twins. My sister had twins a year ago in December. It just amazes me how long you have carried these two babies. I wish you the best. My sister was so uncomfortable towards the end, I felt so bad for her.

For all of the other moms anticipating the upcoming birth, I wish you all the best. I am sure you are all looking forward to holding your baby in your arms. It is the best feeling in the world.

As for me, I am feeling fine. I feel really tired around 2:00 but once I go home I feel fine. I wonder if the boss would know I was sleeping at my desk if I just laid my head down for a while. I have a little bit of nausea in the morning, but I get that anyway.

I have a question, I know that I am not far along yet, but did anyone not really experiencing any symptoms in the first few weeks of pregnancy? I had a miscarriage/D&C in December and I am constantly worrying that I will lose this one. Anybody?

AZParalegal, I had no symptoms other than tiredness at first. Then the morning/noon/night sickness. The whole sensitive breasts, etc came much later. This is with all 3 of my pregnancies.

Wishing you sticky vibes. Not to bring up a bad subject but did the doctors find any reason for the Miscarriage?

AZ...I had no symptoms ever other than at about 8 weeks my boobs got sore for a week or two. Other than that, I had no morning sickness, tiredness, my boobs haven't gotten any bigger. I understand why you are so nervous though. When will you get an u/s done?

Becca ~ I say go get a pedicure!!

Becca~ Thank you for your response. I am usually not a worry-wart, but I seem to be this time around. With my miscarriage in December, I had an ultrasound at 6.5 weeks and the heartbeat was low. They said I was probably just one week behind what I thought I was (which was wrong, I was charting my cycle). They scheduled me for another ultrasound, which I had done at 10.5 weeks. At that time the baby did not have a heartbeat and was smaller than it was during my 6.5 week ultrasound. After my D&C the doctor said that the baby had a cyst on it, which could have either been a twin or some kind of serious deformity. It was really hard to take it all in at the time, but I am doing okay now.

SmileyAmy~ Thank you for your response. It is good to hear that I am not alone in not really having a symptoms. I can't believe how close you are to having your baby. It seems like you just found out. I think you were four weeks behind me.

Okay, coming here to post quickly before I have my afternoon nap.

Thanks to all of you who don't think I am crazy worrying about the baby!

AZParalegal--I would say that being tired is my number one complaint. My boobs really hurt a couple of weeks ago, but that is getting a litttle better now.

Trailboss--Glad to hear you are feeling better. Maybe we are just getting used to it.

Luna--Good luck!

Wow, we are getting another wave of new babies, huh?

There is a guy at work and his wife just found out she is pregnant. She is due a couple weeks before me. It feels sort of odd that they have told EVERYONE and I haven't told anyone yet. I just heard all about her doctor's appointment that was yesterday. Of course that got several women here talking about pregancy and birth. They were all induced and had epidurals. One lady picked the birthdays of all of her kids. I told them that SOMEDAY when I have a kid, I am determined to have a natural birth. They told me that I'll change my mind once I get pregnant . I really wanted to say some things about WHY I want to have a natural birth, but I just kept my mouth shut. I know it is a touchy subject.

AZ ~ Yeah...I can't believe how close I am!! A little scary... Yeah, don't worry too much about symptoms. Everyone and every pregnancy is different. I will be crossing my fingers and sending sticky vibes your way as long as you need them!
