Just wanted to pop in and say hello. I am so busy today and want to try to not have to stay late on a Friday.

I am meeting some New England/Massachusetts LCF's tomorrow for dinner!! I am so excited. Friendship is one of them. I made an announcement that there is NO touching the belly. They took it hard. LOL

Well, I will probably lurk a bit, but no time for personals. Talk to you all later!

LOL, Amy! I'm jealous.. I wanna meet some PG folks!

Besides me, DH, and my ob, I had three people total touch my belly. Two asked permission. I actually liked it, but I'm weird.

Oh, and I have to let out a fangirl SQUEEEEE!!!!!!! I'm so excited about tomorrow!

Greetings ladies!

Just a drive by to say hi!

I had more bloodwork done yesterday and another NST tomorrow. I'm still on bedrest probably for the duration. I really don't want to be induced but I have a feeling they are going to suggest it in the next week or 2. *sigh*

It's very frustrating to have a million things left to do and not be able to do them! So, the lesson here is don't procrastinate too much!! At least we have all the stuff we need, it's just not organized and the nursery isn't really set up. I guess it could be worse!

Hope everyone is well. I'll try to check in again later.

((hugs))

Meg

Hello, ladies.

Vixen--Thanks for checking in last night! I was thinking about you this morning. Glad to hear you are all moved and somewhat settled in.

LunaAshling--Welcome! You'll have major baby fever if you hang around here. I hope your time on the 'trying' list is a short one!

I went to bed at 7pm last night. I feel great this morning.

Okay, no one flame me for drinking coffee, but this is how things went this morning when I went to Starbucks:

Gal: can I help you?
Louise: Yes, I'd like a large (I refuse to use their names) Yukon Blend with room for cream.
Gal: So that was a Venti coffee?
Louise: Yes.
Gal: Would you like the Yukon Blend or the Lite Note?
Louise: Yukon Blend.
Gal: Do you want room for cream?
Louise: Yes, please.

Is it that hard to pour a cup of coffee?? I only go there like once a week. Otherwise, I don't drink any coffee or pop. Yukon Blend is my favorite, and I even check their website to see when they are brewing it .

Almost the weekend! Thank goodness!

LOL, Louise, reminds me of Kate's post yesterday on the PG. I never go to Starbucks anymore, but then I hate coffee so I've never been sucked in. I used to go for tea, but I can buy it at the store. If their scones were any good, it might be worth it for that, but they are terrible.

Meg, don't fret... as long as you have some clothes, diapers, and a place for baby to sleep, you'll have plenty of time to set things up later when you are more mobile. Alison's still not in her nursery, but I'm thinking it will be very soon. It's so convenient for her to be in our room, but last night she slept 6 hours. If I could get DH to get up during the night with her sometimes, it would be easier to put her in her room. Since it's just me getting up, I want to make it easier on me, ya know?! LOL...

ETA: Amy, if you have any questions on formula feeding, formula, or bottles, feel free to ask.

AMY - Have a good time! Melissa's on our Mommy thread... Too cool you girls get to meet!

DAR - Have fun!

LOUISE - No flaming here. Funny, because with my first pregnancy, I was gung ho about NO CAFFEINE... (LOL!) Funny thing is I never liked coffee until I got pregnant. WEIRD. With my last two, I've been more lax. And they're no less healthy than the first. Oh... And sorry your boobs itch...

Peeling and itching! Wow! Pregnancy is fun!

Jen--Glad to hear you drank coffee too. I love Starbucks. I only go there 1 or 2 times a week. And I drink 1 cup of coffee at home on Saturday and Sunday. So like 4 cups a week, max.

I really need to get busy now!!

Louise- Caffeine isn't the root of all evil. We all need some **she says as she downs a fountain diet coke*** Mine itch too. Actually, my entire body itches. I call it it the itchies. Happens mostly at night. Drives me nuts.

Luna???? Did you have your little one?

Mandy??? Lovin' DH being home I'm sure!!!

Dar-Thanks for keeping us going here.

Meg- sorry about bedrest. I would be in trouble if they did that to me now too. I loved it when they did it to me with DS#1!

Had a belly check today. Same ol' stuff. Had them change my meds from Effexor back to zoloft. I cannot take the restless leg syndrome any longer. Even taking 1 every other day early in the AM is killing me. I fell asleep so easy last night I almost jumped for joy in the morning. Even waking every 2 hrs to pee and switch positions didn't bother me cuz I went right back to sleep. The last few months it had been taking hours. Let's hope the zoloft is better. I need it, I'm about in tears now and feeling very anxious with no meds for 3 days. I have tried 4 or 5 times at diff stages of PG to ween myself but I think it is a lifetime thing for me. My anxiety disorder along with depression is just too much a part of me. LOL

Hi ladies! I was also wondering if little luna had her baby yet?!! I've been lurking as I really havent had to much time to post and I just hate to miss anyone when I do. I've been over on the "losin the baby fat" thread but its like watching hopscotch! I can't keep up with it all

Dar,Dena,Chels... Those pictures you girls posted were just tooo cute! I just loved the ones on Alison smiling and Dena Hamilton looks like he is changing in the face already! very precious! and Payton is filling out nicely!!

Louise.. When I was pregnant with Ethan I suddenly had a strong urge to drink coffee and I'm not a coffee drinker.. I think I had atleast 2 cups a day.. I made my husband order me those flavored ones.. Pumpkin spice was one of my favorites with Ethan..lol Enjoy a few cups will not do any harm.

Gilbabe!!.. I thought for sure you was going to have that baby this week!! Maybe this weekend?!!

Dar.. I got to meet Rascal Flatts when I worked in advertising at one of the local country stations in Detroit! They are so friendly and down to earth not to mention even sexier close up!! Do you like Emerson Drive? they remind me a lot of Rascal Flatts. Have a great time!!!

Ethan is getting sooo big! and changing everyday.... I can't believe he's already 3mths.. My goodness! My husband said we will try for a girl in July so much for getting my girly figure back

LunaA!!.. Nice to see you over here

Hi everyone. I am still here and still pregnant (and in a bad mood! ). I saw one of my doctors today and she said I was about a finger tip dilated. So anyone have experience being a fingertip and then going into labor a few hours later?

Anyway, we are talking about induction. Wouldn't do it yet but just talking about what it's like and what would happen. We'll see.

I've been reading all the breastfeeding posts. I'm trying to get prepared myself.

I'll try to catch up on personals later.

Woohoo I am in!

Just wanted to post a quickie.

I am Angela, 29 and been married 9 1/3 years. I am also a WAHM and homeschooler.

I have two boys, 12 & 3 years old. Both of my preganacies had complications (the first one was horrible). And I have BIG babies (9.3 and a 10.9)! First was Vag and second was a C-section.

This will be my last and I REEEEEEEEEAAALLY want a girl BAAAAAAD! Though if the two clones (different dads) I have are any clue... I will have another cloned boy. *SIGH*

So we shall see how this all goes. Baby fever is an insiduous thing... warps your very logical brain... the one that tells you to f-off all caution and plans ... and tells you that ALL those cons you have on your list are meaningless

Luna--Glad you checked in. Sorry you are still pregnant and still in a bad mood . Hope things happen soon for you.

Angela--thanks for telling us about yourself. My (real) name is Amanda, we've been married 4.5 years, and this is our first. I currently work as an internal auditor for a small phone company. I'll be a SAHM once the baby is here.

DH and I had a long talk last night about how things are going to work out with me telling my boss, etc. We have things all straightened out, so I feel a lot better than that. The thing is that we both work at the same company, and we decided we don't want to play the coming back/not coming back thing. I am planning on waiting until July 18 (I have an appointment that day and we should be able to hear the heartbeat) to tell my boss. Hopefully I won't be showing or have horrible morning sickness before then. So I'll tell him that I haven't made a decision yet, but by Oct I plan on telling him I don't plan on coming back. I don't want to get "downsized" if I tell them I am not coming back. I also don't want to wait until the end of my maternity leave, and then tell them I am not coming back. To me (even though I know a lot of people to do) that doesn't seem honest somehow. Plus, with DH working here, I think that would upset people. Anyway, that has been bugging me for a while, so I am glad DH and I sorted that out.

I have also figured this out:
6am-awake
7am-10 am, feel great, plenty of energy.
10am-1pm, the will I puke game . So much fun.
1pm-5pm, so tired that I need toothpicks to hold my eyes open
5pm-7pm, blah
7pm---sleepy, bedtime.

I am sure this schedule will change, but for now, it is good to know what is coming at what time of day.

Louise ~ Will you still get your maternity leave benefits if you don't come back? That is the only thing you might want to take into consideration if you haven't already.

Sorry about the schedule...that sucks!

Amy, yes, I will lose out on maternity benefits. I could get paid 60% of my salary for 6 weeks, but I'd have to sign something saying I'd come back for at least 2 weeks after my leave was up. DH could take 2 weeks of vacation and I could come back for those 2 weeks, but I think it would be hard on both of us. I am not really even sure if they would give him 2 weeks in a row off. Plus, since we both work here, it sort of seems like we are screwing the company over if we do it that way. I think it would hurt his reputation around here. I'd rather just be straight forward from the beginning. We will manage without the money.

Shelly- I just don't know. Both of my other baby's were right on time but....

I just got on here again because I don't feel good at all. I had a regular OB visit/belly check. Everything fine but I don't feel good.

I have to run to the bathroom alot and I just don't feel right. I doubt I'm getting ready to go into labor but the anxiety of it is bugging me. I don't feel good at all. I want DH to come home but he can't unless there is more of a reason. LOL

Waaah, going to drive to get DS from Kindergarten. BBS.

Hi Mommies,

Well, my doctor called me back last night and said that they definitely want to know the absolute second that I am pregnant so that they can start me on progesterone suppositories. Oh joy! I mean, from the sounds of some posts that I have read, early pregnancy has enough "fun" things (like apparently itchy boobs LOL Louise) without having to have a daily suppository. LOL
However, in the end it will all be worth it.

Welcome Luna!

I guess I should do a better job of introducing myself as well. I'm a 32 yo, currently working as an instructor at a local business school teaching professional development and office computers (all previous experience has been in HR). DH and I have been married for 9 years. We live in Tulsa and currently have no kids (except we do consider our two golden retrievers to be our babies for now).

Prayers to Luna for a quick delivery!!

Shelly - Ethan is adorable (looks like a baby model).

Hi to everyone else! I've got to run.

Hey Daisy, Did your doctor tell you that they need to be refrigerated? I called them my "progesterone pops" when I was taking them.

Okay, got back from the lactation consultant. It was very interesting. In a nutshell, to take the pressure off of me, the nurse described the problem as his problem, not mine.

Tuesday he was 6'4, today he was 6'6 so he put on two ounces which is good news. After he nursed on both breasts, she determined he got an ounce and a half from me. She feels like my supply is okay and that Hamilton is a lazy nurser (my words, not hers). He gets plenty of the foremilk and thinks he is full. The foremilk is full of nutrients, but no fat (as you have heard Kaillean and others here discuss). So, that is why he was still pooping and peeing and not dehydrated. He was getting nutrition, but no fat or calories. He nurses hard to get the foremilk, and when the thicker hindmilk comes in, he gets lazy and doesn't suck hard enough. Basically, he doesn't want to work for his supper. This also explains why he was fussy in between feedings.....he wasn't staying fuller, longer because he was getting the watery mil - not the fat stuff.

We are going to hold off on pumping because the supply isn't the problem, it's his sucking and we want to get him off the bottle so he won't get even lazier.

I am using the supplemental nursing system, basically I hook it to my top, run the tube to my nipple and he sucks my nipple while getting the calories from the formula. The reward of the formula encourages him to suck harder, which hopefully will also draw the hindmilk out and stimulate my supply. The goal is for him to learn to suck harder and get more hindmilk and less formula. He is on one and a half ounces.

I nurse him on one breast until he gets lazy, put him on the other breast and when he gets lazy on that, start the flow of the formula. So, if he can get full on one and a half ounces of formula (plus whatever hindmilk he gets) in lets just say 10 minutes....the goal would be that he would get full the next time in 7 minutes an only an ounce because he is learning to suck better and getting more hindmilk.

It's not that easy and just an example....it's going to take a lot of work. Eventually, he will get better and I may not have to pump or I can pump and supplement breastmilk instead of formula.

The first goal is to teach him how to suck while getting him fat.

He's crying now...going to check on him. BBL!!!
