I am going through that right now. I haven't had my period since March. This happened to me last year but not this long and the doctors thought it has something to do with the allergy meds I was taking.
I am doing meat/egg fast and was told that messes with my TOM also. I am hoping it comes soon.... not having it messes with me mentally.

You haven't started taking any new meds?

Yes! I started Atkins last February. For the first two months, my period was somewhat regular.. it started getting kooky by a couple days. Suddenly, after April's cycle, it stopped. I was not ovulating, not having my period.

I posted the very same question on LCF, and everyone told me that it was "fine".... However, it sure didn't feel fine.

Go see your doctor! I didn't see mine until July, and he said it's NOT normal for a woman, unless pregnant, menopausal, or too young, to not have her period. He gave me a prescription for Provera which started my period, then Clomid to help me ovulate and get back on a schedule.

For me, I was trying to get pregnant, so the Clomid helped us to conceive. But, the drugs worked great for me.. I had a cycle just like I was supposed to and right on schedule.

My doctor too put me on a form of Provera. How how soon did you get your period after taking it? The perscription is for 10 days, and I am on my 7th. I, however, have NO "signs" that I usually get when my period is about to come. I really hope nothing is wrong.

Gosh, I can't remember when it started. Did your dr. tell you when it would start? Mine told me when to expect it, but I can't remember. You may want to just give them a call to find out.

"Long lapses between periods, lasting 6 months or longer, are common with ongoing physical stress. This is particularly the case if you have lost a lot of weight, as with anorexia. It may also happen if you have little or no body fat, as is true for some women athletes."

"To prevent amenorrhea from recurring, it is important to maintain a healthy lifestyle:

* Make changes in your diet or activities to maintain your ideal weight.
* Avoid excessive use of alcohol and mood-altering stimulants or sedative drugs.
* Avoid cigarette smoking.
* Think about the areas of emotional stress and conflict in your life. If you feel that you cannot resolve these conflicts on your own, ask for help from family, friends, or health professionals.
* Be moderate in all your activities. Try to balance your work, recreation, and rest.
* Maintain a positive outlook. This problem can often be corrected."

- Women's Health Advisor 2004

Hope it comes back soon, how frustrating!

Thank you sooo much. You are all too kind to take your time and answer my thread. I am trying to get more sleep, and eating more than I have been. Just hoping that something like that will start it off. It is such a common occurance to get your period month after month. When you don't you just feel so wrong....
