Dar you can't leave this thread, we need people who have had their babies already to give us advice!

Kaillean, I am more excited at this point I guess. I am really scared, about A LOT of things! But I am ready to see this little girl (and get her feet out of my ribs ).

Vixen and Jefinner, I am seeing doctors and will likely go by whatever advice they give but I have had a few laughs about people telling me what procedures I HAVE to have. My doctors have always asked me what my wishes are and I don't feel forced into any decisions by them.

Good morning ladies.

Luna-- I can't believe your little girl is up to 7 pounds already. Yikes! Those must be some big feet hitting you in the ribs.

Dar-Thanks for getting us started. Sorry your clothes aren't fitting. I have gained about 15 pounds this year, and can't even blame it on pregnancy.

Another day of high temps. But I slept under about 10 blankets last night, and I was really hot when I woke up. My temp wasn't abnormally high, but it was my highest temp so far.

Nothing new with me. A few of us from working are going to visit our friend in the hospital today.

Hi Ladies,
I had my pregnancy massage yesterday AND my first bikini wax OUCH!!! The massage stopped my contractions . I was having them most of the day and some of the night lastnight. They went away and then as soon as I got up this morning they came back again. They were suddenly gone with the massage. It was an hour of pure heaven, and then I went for the wax. I was expecting painful, but phew what a different kind of painful it was. I guess if I go pretty regularly it won't be as bad. She also said it doesn't hurt as bad when you're not pregnant. I feel like a new woman of sorts .
Ds is very sick . He's got a NASTY cough and very runny nose. I don't think he's ever had such a cough. If it's still this bad Thursday I'll have to take him in I guess. He's only ever been on antibiotics 2x's and they were for ear infections. We usually don't do antibiotics for a cold, but we'll see how he does.
Our computer upstairs is screwed up, so I'm down in the dungeon. I'll try to get back later for personals.

~Mandy - Thinking of you and yours .

Hi ladies...

No time for personals today...I am leaving work at 1:45 today for yet another ultrasound.

Just wanted to tell Mandy that I am thinking about her everyday and I am glad the doctor still seem optimistic that Spencer can cook a little longer. Keep us posted!!

Louise ~ What if you take a test and all of us can just look at the results?? We are going crazy!! I am glad your temps are still high - that is a great sign. I am crossing my fingers and toes for you!!

One thing...I think I have figured out when/where my babyshower is. I think it is on June 11th at my aunts house. There are just way too many coincidences. My mom told me a long time ago that she was going away that weekend, my aunt just happenes to be having a surprise party for my cousin who is graduating the police academy and then my best friend randomly e-mails me yesterday (she lives in PA) to ask me a question about a purse party she got invited to and oh, it happens to be on the 11th. Why do I need to know when this purse party is - it isn't like I am going. There are a few other things that are tipping me off. This is why I didn't want a surprise. My family/friends are WAY too obvious when it comes to this stuff. I could be totally wrong - and then I will feel like and idiot. But I don't think so.

Okay...so I have yacked way too long. I have to get some work done!!

Hi everyone,

Had our 3rd childbirth class last night. I'm not so sure I like this teacher much. She's OK overall, but I'm challenging her a lot and stirring up a little controversy. Yesterday she tried to tell the class that it's better to get an episotomy than to tear and she's totally pro-drugs. I asked if they use Cytotec at this hspital and she tried to defend it. Sure, she should have her own opinions, but she really ought to be more objective as the teacher. Anyway, it's become clear that the class is full of sheeple that can't think for themselves or do their own research. Ok, so I'm a snob, I admit it.

I feel pretty good but any sort of extertion kicks my butt. Miss Charlotte is definitely head down now and using my bladder as a pillow. I literally got up to pee every hour on the hour last night. Exhausting!

Amy: Good luck at the u/s! I hope it goes well!

Mandy: Thinking about you and Spencer!

Daisy: I used Fertility Friend and loved it! You also need to get a copy of Taking Charge of your Fertility. It should be required reading for anyone who even thinks they want to consider getting pregnant!

Alli: You are so brave! I don't think I could bring myself to get a bikini wax. The hospital should offer that as a service when they are stitching you up and your all numb with lidocaine!

Louise, Bratty, Luna, Dar... Hi guys!!!

Hope everyone is having a good day.

Meg

Ditto!!

Meg ~ Guess you aren't teachers pet, huh?? If she is teaching she really should be objective and not push her beliefs on the class. That isn't right. Sorry about the peeing - are you waking up tired?? I only get up once as it is and I hate it. I guess I shouldn't complain!! LOL

Your childbirth teacher seems a bit out of date to me. I don't see how cutting your bits is better than letting them do their thing, besides if a woman is allowed to birth in a position she wants it's unlikely one will tear. Forced pushing and back laying are the two most common reasons for tearing! I had a teeny tiny tear. I told the doc "You better not f'in cut me" and I was having sex before the "recommended" 6 weeks. Cytotec isn't even an induction drug. I only went to one childbirth class, told Dan it was crap and never went back. Started doing my own research and dictated what happened in my birth. Because I did my own thinking I refused augmentation and eventually c/s due to prosterior baby that I birthed MYSELF so what if my labour was a little slow and hurt so much the pain would paralyze me every time I had a contraction. I really think if I had not read and researched so much I would have started the long line of interventions which would have led to a c/s. Doc was pushing for one and I said NO over and over and over. In less than four hours I had my baby girl. Sheeple!

I'm totally with ya Pauline. She's ok for general info, but definitely not up to speed on the finer points (both pros and cons). Fortunately, my doctor does not do episitomies, thinks that forceps are dangerous, will not use Cytotec and is more than happy that I'm bringing a doula to the party.

Amy, oddly I'm not waking up terribly tired, and last weekend when I slept really late I felt like crap from sleeping too much. I think I'm just getting used to the constant up and down all night which I suppose is very good practice!

Sheeple... I love it! Meg, I agree with you and Pauline completely (surprise!)... she sounds out of date and not objective... ugh... not what a teacher should be... oh well, thank god she won't be at your birth, right?

Hey ladies. Not much to say today. I'm tired and my tailbone hurts so bad I can barely move. I

'm so not into the natural birth. I wish I could be but I'm chicken*****. I do take charge of things though and make sure I decided what happens. Except in the case of my DS#1 where after 22 hrs of labor and 3 hrs of pushing I couldn't even muster up the strength to care how the dr. got him out. They used forceps, safely and thank god they got him out! I thought I'd have his 14 inch sunny side up head in my crotch forever.

I wish I could do this one au natural.

I think alot of people are really just clueless about natural birth and are very surprised at anything but the "medical way" of doing it. That is why people say. OMG, they would have induced me, etc. Things are changing but slowly.

I'm not trying to argue or anything....forgive me if any of it comes across that way.

I'm really proud of all you "natural" mommies and envious. Great job.

Hello mommies!

I just wanted to share a few pictures of my little man. He is being unusually good today so I was able to actually get online!

He is always so happy after his bathes!

Caught a pic of him smiling in his sleep

Not so sure about the swing.....

Aw! Heather, I love the one of him smiling in his sleep! I wonder what he was dreaming about....

I'm with Becca on birthing naturally vs. the "hospital way". I wish I had the guts, but I don't think I do. Then again, I've never done it before. Maybe I'll change my mind? The only way I'm going natural is if it happens too fast not to, which would be wonderful, but I'm not counting on it. I am opposed to the episiotomies though. I am very envious of you mommies who can do it au natural.

In my experience... (Just mine... Everyone is different...) My natural births were better and less painful than my hospital birth. Then again, the epidural wore off and wouldn't take again. AND I was having pitocin contractions. If you are to be induced with pitocin, then an epidural is a MUST. Pitocin contractions are a ******!!!

The only natural contractions that came close were with Ezra, but he came so fast, that they were a lot more intense. Even if I'd had a hospital birth, they couldn't have given me an epi. fast enough. Less than three hours from the first contraction to holding him. EEK! LOL!

Oh, and I think that all you mommies should get the birth you want. The only thing I'm truly adamant about is not letting a doctor (or any childbirth professional of any kind) bully you into a decision. You have all the resources to be so informed these days.

Heather, great pics!!! Don't you love those little smiles while they sleep? It's SOOO cute. I haven't been able to grab a pic of one, though. Hopefully soon enough I can get a pic of her real smile. They are still few and far between.
