Losing the Baby Fat ~ 5/14-5/15 Weekend Edition

Good morning ladies! I think I'm gonna like having the thread here. I wouldn't be suprised to see our group grow when other ladies decided to peak into the Women's Health board.

Well, I got a little more sleep yesterday and feel more alive, but Grant had a very bad day. I don't know if it possible this early but we think he may be teething. The drool faucet has been going strong for about a week and a half and he has been knawing on his hand and anything close he can get his hands on. Then after biting me yesterday the little bugger bit me again on the other nipple today. During the day when I was sleeping he was really crabby and cried hystically unless my husband held him standing up. When I got up to try and feed him he refused, so my husband tried the bottle and he refused that too and just kept crying. He didn't feel warm so we didn't take his temp, but I got a cold wash cloth and he chewed on that for about an hour and then fell asleep. We decided to try to give him Tylenol, but by the time my husband found the sheet with dosage amounts I had him at the breast eating. Well, he stayed on for about 45 minutes and then fell into a hard sleep and we just put him to bed. Unfortunately, for my husband he was starting to stir as I was going out the door to go to work. We will definately be using the Tylenol tomorrow if he acts the same way.

Ok, I'm gonna try to do better with personals...I've been kind of selfish and lazy just asking questions and posting baby pics, LOL!

Wow! Isn't that cool!

Thank goodness we put her back in newborn diapers.. the stage 1 were just way too big and she kept leaking urine. Ugh, I can't imagine what that mess would have been like! I'm still at Rob!
You're lucky...Grant has been doing this a lot since day one. I think his legs must be thinner than the average baby, because we tried every diaper on the market and only the Pamper's Swaddlers kept the poop in, except when he had an explosive bm and you happened to be holding him then it would just shoot up the back. Now he is too big for the Swaddlers and not big enough for the Cruisers. We tried the Pampers Baby-Dry since they were on sale and that was a big mistake...now we get a leaker about every diaper because they are just too loose around the legs. Can't wait till they are gone and he fits into the Cruiser's better....I guess we'll just stick with the Swaddlers a bit longer even though the size 2's aren't high enough on his back and we seem to get more explosions up the back...but at least the legs are tight enough to keep it from leaking out that way. I've heard that the Sam's club brand is supposed to be good for breastfed babies, but he's not big enough to even try these yet as they start at size 3 at our store.

I hope you can get caught up on your sleep! One of our kitties started having UTI's and had to go on special food. We also started using water that had gone through our brita filter. There are so many minerals and additives to our tap water that really mess up kitties little systems.
We've been using the filtered water from day 1, but I guess that the vet said that there's something in regular cat food that can cause UTI's to suseptible kitties. He seems to be doing a lot better the last few days now and I'm shocked at how well he is letting my husband give him the pills. We had a cat growing up that got an UTI and would not let us give him the pills....my mom got so scratched up and bit that I ended up taking the cat to the vet twice a day for 10 days so the pros could do it! LOL! Luckily, it was during the summer so someone was around to take him in during office hours.

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions on nipples. I will just stick with the stage 1 until he seemed to get frustrated with it.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Ames

Morning Mommies!!!

Ames....might be Grant's 3 month growth spurt that he's going through. Hope he is better today.

Not much going on here but exhaustion. Neither hubby nor I are sleeping well due to his schedule changing and this place calling him in early every day. It's crazy! Good news is though it was confirmed last night that he is indeed the "Third Shift Coordinator" and with that comes a raise when they start hiring the 3rd shift team I'm happy for him as he feels this is a good opportunity. I just cannot wait for his sleep schedule to adjust so I can slow down with Elana LOL

Last night I got home...took her to walmart with me...came back, took her for an hour walk...stopped at pool and we put our toes in for awhile....then came home and put her swing out on the patio while I read for about 30 mins. Of course, the minute I sat down to eat while she napped...she was awake crying. That's about the time hubby got awoken by his cell phone asking him to come in early. Poor guy is crashed in the bed now.

TOM still here and showing me up a pound...which I know is water retention as I feel it in my fingers/ankles.

Have a great day mommies!!

AMES - Gotta love those BF babies explosions... EEK! LOL! Anna was the worst. Luvs seemed to work best on her. With Ezra, I just have pee pee accidents. I have to learn how to position the winky before fastening the diaper... LOL!

CHELLE - Sorry about the crazy schedule.

I'm just here shortly... I'm looking up stuff on doing an elimination diet to see what I ate that might have given Ezra some major painful gas last night.

Hey Ames, do you have a Costco membership or know someone who does? They have Swaddlers in size 1-2, which was perfect when our little one was too big for the 1's but swimming in the 2's. There's a Costco in St. Louis Park, Coon Rapids and Eden Prairie. Hope this helps.

You can also get those 1-2 Swaddlers at Toys R Us in the "case" boxes.

Just gotta say LOL, Ames. She was wearing the Swaddlers NB when it happened. The Huggies NB are bigger. Who knew diapers could be such a complicated issue?

Anyone here use any of the 'cheaper' diapers out there? Or is it not worth the savings?

Chelle, have you tried Publix wipes? We actually like them, and they save a few bucks.

It was the Swaddlers size 1-2 that was getting too small. His butt crack was about a half inch from the top. I guess the kid just has a long torso.

Believe me Dar when I say we tried them ALL! The cheaper ones ain't worth it, although I've heard the Sam's club ones are pretty good, but they only sell the larger sizes at the store we go to.

No we haven't....we've been EXTREMELY lucky when it comes to the Pampers bulk box of wipes. We've gotten them at walmart and toys r us...every time on a major sale with a big coupon that I stash away on top of it. So we've gotten a box of 5-pack wipes for no more than $4 a pop.

We've always used Huggies from Costco. They are my absolute fav. The fit SO well.

Just a drive by here... got turkey burgers I need to tend to!

Made this today!

Put a pork roast in the crock pot (I used a half pork picnic that was on sale), cover with salt and pepper, one can of green chillies. Pour 1 cup beef broth over it and cook 8 hours on low. Take out of crock pot and shred with 2 forks.

I served it in LC Mission tortilla's with cheddar cheese and salsa...YUMM!! I have TONS of leftovers

We use the White Cloud ones from Wal-Mart, and really like them. Right now Judson is 14lbs. but has been wearing the size 3 diapers for a while which say they are for 16-28lbs. I can get a pack of 80 for about $13.00 and they last us almost 2 weeks.

It was another crazy day yesterday, dance class, b-day party, and work last night. I'm so glad I only work on the weekends I have tonight off though and can't wait till Survivor! Someone had asked what I do for work well lets see right now I have a 4 yr old girl I watch on M-T-W, have a 1 yr old M-W-TH, Then on F I prep cook at my family's restaurant, Then I go back at night to cook pizza's, and I do dishes for them on Sat nights. However we are seasonal so in July when we open full time all of that will change, I just haven't quite figured that out yet. My best friend Khristy always had one of those date books she carried around with her, and I made fun of her, well I broke down yesterday and bought one

How's the mini challange going for those of you who joined me? I've been very good this weekend as far as cheating goes, just not to well with the h2o. I don't plan on leaving the house today so maybe I will do better with it.

Well I'm gonna go fold laundry, and watch The Apprentice & ER from last thursday. I'll check back later

Hey Liz!!! Busy lady you are!!!

I haven't cheated all weekend but was tested yesterday. Made the mistake of running to the store hungry and several times almost bought something I could eat on the way home...how pathetic is that?!?!?! But I didn't!!! Water is going ok, never goes as well as when I'm at work during the week. But I'm going to work on that today!!

Hope you ladies are having a good weekend. Mine's all jumbled due to hubby's weird work schedule and we're all outta whack sleep wise. Even Elana didn't sleep until 12:30 last night.

Sounds like everyone is busy this weekend!! We have been too. I have been drinking my water so that has been good. And I can't believe how good I am doing sticking to the low carb eating!!!
Diaper issue- With my son, I used huggies religiously!! BUT, I switched to LUVS about a year ago and I use them with Madison too, I personally love them. I was so "into" huggies before, but once I tried LUVS I switched and they are cheaper.
Chelle- Great news on hubbys promotion!! Sounds like a lot of the people in this thread have had job issues, including us....great to know that things are looking up.
Will check back later.

Oh man she's got that camera out again, time to look cute!

Alright back to work now. My mom took Elliott to the movies, Mark (hubby) is working, and Judson is now napping. It's so quiet

Where is everyone? Watching Survivor maybe? Hope everyone is having a good weekend, it's raining here again. It's done this like the last 3 weekends, and is going to continue till wednesday. If the sun ever comes out maybe I'll get the lawn mowed. I'm gonna go lurk!

Hey All!

Not much going on with me! Except that my 10 month old is officially walking! I am so so proud! She still plops on her bottom but she gets right back up on her feet and starts walking again. Before when she fell she would crawl but not anymore she's found her legs!

Well I have been on a binge since Thursday. Everything that I should not have I had it! Except for cake and ice cream. So I'm 3 pounds up and I'm going to work that off and then some this week.

Calyse and I went to a children's aprty on Saturday it was a nice day out. Dh workd so I met some friends and my sister there. We really had a nice time. On Sunday I did nothing at all. Dh went to the movies with my nephews to see Unleashed with Jet Li and Morgan Freeman. I was glad he took them because I really wasn't intrested in seeing it.

Menu

Breakfast ~ Skipped
Lunch ~ Chef Salad with Blue Cheese dressing
Dinner ~ Fish and spinach in a butter sauce
Water ~ not muc at all. (16 oz)
Exercise ~ Nothing today.

Getting in the exercise this week will be rough with Dh working so much earlier than normal. When we have separate cars again I can do my own thing in the morning!

I hope everyone is having a great Monday!
