Gosh, I hope with the threads being moved that all the mommies can find them!

daisy73, I added you to the list!

Mandy, as always, praying for you and little Spencer.

Amy, I'm glad the meeting went well!

Becca, sending to you, just because I feel like it.

Snoring baby on my chest. Perhaps I should put her back in her pack-n-play and get back to bed myself, huh?

Dar~ I saw your question about the crib sheets yesterday. When Murph started sleeping in the bassinet part of his pack n play, I put a bath towel down to keep it warm (it was Jan). So when we transistioned him to his crib I moved the towel in there so he wouldn't notice a big change. It was so much easier to throw the towel in the wash and replace it if he wet through, that I have just opted to leave it. So I don't have to change the sheet very often. I will probably stop when he gets bigger and moves around more, but for now it is working great.

Thanks, Jen. I had no idea the sheets would be so tight! And the mattress fits in there so snugly.. it's a double PITA! LOL...

Yep... Sheets are a real PITA. It's for a reason though. They don't want the baby suffocating. Still. I HATE IT!!!!

Oh, Happy Friday!! I plan on doing NOTHING this weekend except for going to a cookoout/birthday party for DH's 3 year old cousin tomorrow. I am going to stuff my face with hotdogs and birthday cake!! Woo, hoo!!

Oh, big news...felt baby kicking from the outside last night!!! I was laying on my right side watching The Apprentice when I felt these really strong kicks on my left side and sure enough I felt them over and over again. Kinda weird feeling to me still, but nice to have felt it since I was getting frustrated.

Have to head in for another 1 hour glucose test today. And have my PKU levels checked...again...so I will be leaving work around 3:30.

Mandy(MarriedInSept) ~ Jacob is so cute!! I had been waiting to hear about his birth. I will e-mail you later on...busy today.

Daisy ~ Welcome to the group! I used Fertility Friend also and found it a huge help. Ask us any questions you want and we will do our best. Good luck TTC!!

Hi Dar, Jen and Jenn!! Hope all the babies are doing well.

Did I miss Chelsea's birth story?? I have been trying to keep up the past few day and am not sure if I missed anything.

Oh, and still waiting to hear from HR.

Well, got to get some work done. BBL

Hey ladies...happy friday the 13th!

Crib sheets are a pain, especially with a bumper. Best way to change them is to loosen the bumper on the front and the side, lift it up and then actually take the mattress out and change the sheet and mattress pad. PITA, but they are nearly impossible to change any other way.

One step Ahead dot com or catalog makes a sheet saver that ties to the crib rails and is the size of a bath towel. Saves sheets longer...just wash the small drool covered part and replace! Be careful using a bath towel that it doesn't bunch up under baby.

That store has tons of cool stuff. I have battery operated fans for my kids that clip onto stuff, baby safe too. GREAT if you are in a hot climate....we use them for the stroller for amusement parks.

Taking doggie Trot for training at 4pm and then leaving him at petsmart for a quick puppy grooming while we steal some dinner at the Olive Garden or John Harvard's.

Where is everyone??

Anyway...found this on another board. Just thought it was funny. Especially with what I am going through with my previous landlord.

Hello ladies!

Amy--Congrats on the 3rd trimester! Wow. Time flies.

Becca--I hope Trot does well at training! Enjoy your dinner.

Can't help with all the talk on crib sheets . Guess that will just be something I figure out when the time comes. Or make DH do it .

I am 7 DPO and my chart is looking pretty good. Staying above my coverline. I am trying to stay positive about the little things. I am hoping to make it to 10 DPO so that I know my luteal phase is long enough to conceive. I think the only things we have against us this month (and maybe in future months) is that I had little EWCM, and that we didn't BD enough this month.

We are painting our bedroom this weekend! I just bought a new quilt and lamps for it too. I hope it turns out nice. There won't really be any going back as we are painting the walls a dark brown color. I saw it in the Pottery Barn catalog.

Have a great weekend ladies!

Morning girls. Just a quick hello for now.

Great pics Dar!

Louise -- fingers crossed for you. Don't worry too much about the EWCM. I only had it one day, and even at that it was just a strand or two. As I get older I have less and less. Didn't seem to matter, though! If things continue to look good, when will you test?

I noticed possible implantation cramps around 7-8 dpo and my boobs were a bit tender at 9 dpo, so I tested then. Got a very faint positive line that I could barely see (and didn't believe). A wee bit darker the next day and the next. I used the First Response test. I hope this is your month!

If not, it's just great to be figuring out your cycles and getting a better handle on patterns.

I missed the whole crib sheet thing -- what's the issue?

Ciao for now

Thanks for your insight! I am not going to test until the 25th which is 18DPO. I know that's late, but I think I am sort of afraid to test. I've had to take an HPT before when I was hoping it was negative, so I guess I am just in denial that I'll get a positive. Plus, I'd rather wait than have the disappointment.

Louise ~ I had barely any EWCM too. Sometimes I was sort of just guessing with the DM because it was so in between. I never had one of those days where I was drenched with EWCM. So, don't worry too much about that. I am keeping my fingers crossed for you!!

Hi everyone!! I've been searching for this board for a long time!! Anyway, I got an amnio on Monday and have been waiting and waiting for the preliminary results. Well, Friday the 13th is a lucky day for me - I spoke with my doctor and everything looks good and normal as far as down syndrome and trisomy #13 and #18. I'm having a girl!!!!! I'm so excited. Now I'm really starting to feel that this pregnancy is really happening and I'm going to be a mom!!!

HI ladies...

Congrats on the girl & good results Tammeli!

*jumping up and down* I know the answer on the crib sheet issue!!!! Look for "The Ultimate Crib Sheet" at BRU or the other major places. It's similar to what Gilbabe mentioned - it ties to the rails and serves as matress pad & sheet in one. Much, much easier to change on the fly.

Cuuuuuuuuute pictures Shelly!

Dar: Thanks for asking about the pups a few days ago. Raphie, the male with the heart problem, is doing really well. The bzillion medicines seem to be keeping his heartrate down and other stuff under control to the extent possible. He's got more energy than he used to which is great. Gabrielle, on the other hand, is a total nutcase. She's acting much like she did when she was pregnant - carrying around her stuffed toys, peeing 4x/night, whining, snuggling a lot... I'm just waiting for her to try to make a nest in the closet! I even called the vet and she thought that it was probably her responding to all my hormones. OH and I have a great tip for you on getting dogs to take pills! Raphie is taking like 10 a day so I was having a hard time getting him to cooperate and nothing was working and we tried everything. FINALLY I discovered that those mini cream puffs you can get frozen at the store are perfect! You just push the pills into the cream filling of a defrosted one and he snarfs it right down. It might not work with a smaller dog if that's too big. Raphie is about 180# so they are pretty much bite sized for him.

Amy: holy cow, 3rd tri already? It seems like yesterday you were TTC!!!

Not much to report here except that my maternity leave plan is now official. In June I will be telecommuting for 3 days a week/in the office 2 days a week until the 13th, then telecommuting totally until baby arrives. After that 8 weeks totally off, then 4 weeks of telecommuting 4 hours a day. At that point boss will re-evaluate telecommuting for the fall. I'm hoping he'll agree to 2x/week indefinitely. The awesome part is that it's all at full pay. How cool is that? On the downside, I'm the Director of IT so the first time there are any sort of computer issues my co-workers are going to have to contact me anyway. Anyone want to take bets that SOMEONE tries to reach me with a work technical crisis while I'm at the hospital?

2nd session with our doula tomorrow to go over pain coping strategies. Should be fun. We get to play with the birth ball!

Greetings to everyone I missed. Have a great weekend all!

Meg

Shelly, I was thinking the same thing as Amy.. his eyes are SO beautiful!

Meg, I'm about the pill advice. Too funny, feeding a dog cream puffs! LOL... We always use peanut butter, but my dogs are crazy for it. Baby food, too.. it's like puppy crack.

Alli, I love that set!

Tammara, that's awesome news! Yay on the girl!

OMG! Shelly, he's so cute!!

I really like your nursery bedding Alli! Are you getting excited or is the thought of dealing with two babies at once mostly just scarey?

Congratulations Tammara! So glad to hear your amnio went well. I haven't decided yet if I will have it. I guess I will wait until I get the triple/quad screen results back first. A girl, huh? That's fun -- buying clothes is so much more fun than for a boy! Were you or your DH hoping for a boy or a girl?

DH won't say if he has a preference. Says it's isn't "fair" I would love to have a boy, but see clothes comment above....

Meg - sorry about your doggy. We lost our male at 13 last year, and our female (fox terrier) just turned 13. She is on heart meds and cortisone, as well. When she's not she get's terrible nose bleeds and congestion. She's basically in heart failure, but the meds seem to be keeping things at bay for now. She gets terrible nasal congestion. Lord can she snore for a little dog! Riivals DH. And she's giving me lots of practice for baby cleaning out boogers. Seriously, I've never seen a dog with boogers before, but every morning, her nostrils are practically sealed shut. Poor little duffer.

Girls, I need your help. My friend and I are planning a baby shower for another friend who is due August 15. The party will probably be on June 18. We are going with a tropical/Hawaiian type theme, and it will be a co-ed BBQ.

What are some of your favourite shower ideas for games/activities/decorations, etc? For games, please keep in mind, we will be holding it in their relatively smallish apartment. A lot of the people attending have not had kids themselves.

I won't have room to do my standard baby shower obstacle course. That's a fun one. Everyone has to take a turn going around the course (guys and girls). You have to push a doll in a stroller, while holding a coffee and dog on a leash in the other. You run through some pylons and then return to home base, where you have to change the doll's diaper and clean her butt (which has been pre-spread with peanut butter). It's really funny to watch, especially the guys...and after a few cocktails.

What are your great ideas, or fave things from your own showers?

Creative gift ideas?

Thanks girls!!

Thanks Meg and Dar!!

Kaillean I *secretly* wanted a girl and my fiance wanted a boy. Of course we both felt that as long as the baby is healthy, that is all that matters. The way I see it, I'll probably be a lot closer with a girl than a boy. I'm very "girly" and will have so much fun taking her shopping, doing arts and crafts, being involved with brownies & girl scouts, etc. My fiance is very into sports and so is his mom (who is very overbearing and I try to keep my distance from her.) I know that if we had a boy, once he reached the age of 8 or 10, he'd be into sports and my fiance and his mom would sort of "take over." I know that sounds silly, but it is what would happen. So, I'm very happy about my little girl!!
