Where is everyone today?


Question, sure it has been asked before but...Anyone have a full bikini wax/brazilian while PG? I might but first am shy about exposing my coochie to anyone other than the OB. Second, with all the increased blood flow and pressure I have there...will it hurt more? I'm really thinking it would be nice to be all fresh and clean and I can't see to do it myself and Magic Powder/Sally Hansen leaves me stubbly.

Luna-How are you feeling today? I got ya on the aches and pains. Makes it very very hard to sleep. I'm like a walking zombie most days.

In regards to smelly diapers. I never used cloth. I was thinking about it for the newborn stages but MIL just bought me a box of 204 size 1 diapers! I might still do it at first. I like that with cloth you can actually tell when a newborn is wetting. With disposables, they are so absorbant you can't tell and if you are BFing, it adds extra worry. Oh, but back to the smelly. I keep some plastic grocery bags near the changing table or change the baby on a towel on the couch or floor and take the diaper straight to the trash can outside or the garage. I had a diaper genie for DS#1 and OMG I think that smell is ingrained in my nose forever.

Having another bad day with the boss...this is my third day in tears at work.

Now he is giving me a hard time about my doctor's appts. Not so much the appts but why am I having to leave early that first though and why was a date added and if I could not do them on Mondays or Fridays that would be great.

I know it's none of his business but I told him if he needed to know I had to go for tests on Friday and then I have to go in early for an ultrasound because of some concerns they have. I also told him that I didn't pick my appts. It all depends on my due date, how far along I am and when my doctor is available at the times I requested. The most I can say is can you schedule me later in the day? I told him that things arise...tests, change of appt times, etc and there isn't much I can do.

He just makes me so mad all I can do is cry!!

Sorry I have been nothing but grouchy all week. I am just fed up and need to vent.

Hi everyone,

Well, had some excitement here in DC just now. I was out getting lunch and saw some fighter jets over the White House (2 blocks from my office). Of course this is never a good sign. Soon found out that a plane had strayed into restricted airspace and was escorted out. Of course they evacuated the White House & Capitol Buildings. Normally I wouldn't pay much attention but I was playing hookey from a briefing on the Hill. I'm SO SO SO SO GLAD I decided not to head to that today. I'm sure I would have been standing in 85 degree humid weather waiting for security clearance for freakin' ever! So that's the news from here today.

Other than that - feet are swollen, I feel like Jabba the Hut and I can't sleep worth a darn lately. Anyone else?

I bought a journal today for recording thoughts on Miss Charlotte. I'm going to try to write a few sentences in it every day for her to read someday. I'm a big journal keeper myself, but I thought it might be a fun way to try to get her hooked too.

Gilbabe, no waxings scheduled here but I did get razor happy early on and was very, very sorry as it grew back. DH was happy but man was I miserable! I can barely shave my legs now so I don't forsee that happening again anytime soon. Besides, my mom will be at my delivery and she would completely freak out if she saw any creating landscaping going on down there. HEHE!

Sorry about your boss Amy. He sounds pretty evil.

OMG, creative landscaping, that is funny. Yeah, razors are bad. Growth from using a depilitory or waxing isn't too bad. Not sharp and itchy.

I can't sleep worth a $h#t either, I see at least every hour.

Yucky news from Dr. C today. He saw NO significant pockets of fluid. That doesn't mean that there is none, but it is not good. Spencer is still moving ok and making breathing movements, so they aren't going to induce this week unless I go into labor or something like that. So my thoughts about me not holding on to any good fluid were right on. There is no worse feeling in the world than standing up and feeling yourself leak out fluid that you know your baby needs. I'm so discouraged. On top of that, Spencer is measuring even more behind than he was and only gained 3 oz. this week instead of the 6 or more ounces he should have gained. I'm terrified about cord compression problems (which occur frequently with very low fluid and often cause death) and orthapedic problems. IUGR (Intra-Uterine Growth Retardation) is also a worry since he is measuring so small. Needless to say, my day is not going well.

Thanks for the info on the cloth diapers. I think I will give it a try at least. It's a bit overwhelming with all the various types and brands out there. Maybe I will just get a few different ones to start and see how I like them.

Becca - I hear you on the diaper genie. My best friend had one and she was constantly raving about how great it was at keeping the smell down. Lordy -- I could smell that thing everytime I walked in their house. Their little girl is three and a half and almost out of diapers now, but there's still an odd smell in their house. I even lent her a blouse and it came back with the same smell. I think her and her DH must be nasally-challenged. How do you tell someone their house stinks?

That's why I'm worried about cloth and a smell diaper pail. But I'm hoping if I do a diaper wash every day that should help a lot. But then I guess you have to worry about wear and tear on the diapers - especially if you get the ones with built in covers.

If I do disposables, they will go out frequently to main trash in our building. I hate icky smells.

I also hear you on the pee thing. Holy cow - I was up like seven times last night. It's crazy. Funniest thing is even though I pee all night, in the early morning, I have to go even more often. I was up at 5, 6:30, 7:30 and 9. No hope of sleeping in. How can I have that much in my bladder after going about 3 or 4 times before that. And I'm only in month 3! I guess I will have to cut back on fluids after 6 pm or so and see if that helps.

Sorry you are having a hard time at work, Amy. That sucks. I would try and talk to someone else about it also, if that's possible. Sounds like you already have an iffy relationship with this guy, so what's to lose? HR would be your best bet if you have an in-house person. Going over his head might piss him off, especially if his boss is not very diplomatic. An HR person might have a better feel for how to handle the situation, and will likely be more understanding of the issues with your doctor's appointments.

Becca, thanks for asking about me. I actually don't seem to have the sciatic pain anymore. Guess the baby moved! Still can't sleep through the night though. Oh, and I have been waxed recently and I didn't think it felt any different than other times. Don't let them press down too hard on your pubic bone though, ouch!

Amy, your boss is such a jerk! He is so out of line to harass you about your prenatal appointments. Like you need any stress from him! I hope there is someone you can talk to about that.

Miss Gigl, I had heard about the plane on the news. Glad things are ok!

Mandy, sorry about the news. Hope things turn out better.

Kaillean, I got a Diaper Champ and now I am thinking maybe it's not a good idea! I have a pretty sensitive nose though so I hope if it's smelly I will be able to tell. I guess I can walk my butt 4 feet out the door and throw the diapers away!

I just got back from my weekly appointment. My doctor made a guess that the baby is 5-6 lbs and said maybe she'll end up around 7. He thinks she's pretty small. I'm feeling bold so I'll post a belly picture from last week. Hope it's not too big.

Thanks everyone for siding with me - not that I didn't think you would. I e-mailed a woman in HR to see if I am doing anything wrong. I haven't heard anything yet. And tomorrow is my meeting with the jerk. I will let you know how that goes.

I am so busy at work and being stressed out doesn't help me with being productive. Forgive me if I miss anything.

Mandy ~ Sorry for the "bad" news. But look how far you made it. You should be very proud of yourself. I know we are. Keep us updated.

Meg ~ Eek...glad I wasn't there. I probably would have freaked!! I am sure I will se that on the news tonight. Good idea about the journal. I thought about doing that too but I know I wouldn't keep up.

Becca ~ I am not sleeping very well anymore either. I feel like I sleep for a long time but it isn't good sleep. I toss and turn and get up at least once to pee. Plus I get hot easy.

Kaillean ~ I heard you pee a lot at the very beginning then it goes away for a while. Never happened to me though. Oh and nice u/s picture. So much detail. Mine just looked like a bean at that point.

Luna ~ You look great!! OMG...I wish I looked like that. I just look like a fat cow. I catch my reflection in the glass at work and I am always like OMG...am I really that wide?!?!

Well, today is DH's bday. We aren't doing anything special. We might order out and then this weekend hit the casino. He has been dying to go and I have a referral bonus coming so I figured I should let him go at least once before our lives are controlled by the baby.

Oh and I feel her ALL the time now. The movements are getting pretty strong. I still can't feel it on the outside - DH says he can - but I swear sometimes I will see my tummy jump when it happens. They still aren't what I thought they would be. But she sure did like that chocolate bar I ate this afternoon! LOL

Had a busy busy day here.. we went to BRU and bought a mattress, diapers, formula, and some clothes they had on clearance, plus Dh and I went to lunch, returned the pump , and visited his old work to show off Alison. I went through Alison's clothes last night.. she has at least 30 onesies for age 3-6 months!!!! And on top of that, a ton of clothes in the closet for that age! I think alot of those will be going back and exhange for larger sizes. I mean, I know she'll dirty quite a few clothes, but I can't for the life of me foresee needing 30 onesies! LOL...

Amy, sorry the boss is harrassing you. You have a right to your dr's appointments!

I have a Diaper Genie and really like it. Probably because Alison's only on formula.. I know that once they start eating foods their diapers can get pretty smelly, but I make sure to empty it every trash day. Then again, when you have a house with two cats and two dogs, smells just are an everyday occurance, but visitors comment on how our house doesn't smell like animals. Again, .

Hi Ladies,
Well, we had a NST and an OB appointment yesterday and an u/s today! I am carrying nearly 10 pounds of baby around at the moment ! Baby B the boy is measuring at 4lbs 13oz and Baby A girl is measuring in at 4lbs 10oz!!! They are still measuring 2 weeks ahead, I know that they are not really 2 weeks ahead, but I believe they are one week ahead due to a short AF. According to BBC at 31 weeks the baby(ies) should way a little over 3lbs. Oh and they are both head down now. The boy was breech for the longest time.

~Amy - I agree you need to talk to someone else. I wouldn't word it as "am I doing something wrong", I would say "I am doing my job and haven't had any complaints". What's his F$##&ing issue with me . Do the best you can and keep your chin up.

~Becca - Chels, Kaillean and I have been talking wax on and off for a while now. I'm going for the big OUCH on Tuesday. I feel so gross down there with this pregnancy, I can't wait LOL. I'm going for the French vs. the Brazilian or the American. I'm also getting a pregnancy massage that day, but all I keep thinking about is the wax LOL. If you get it done before Tuesday let me know how it goes.

~Kaillean - No help here with the CD's, we use disposables. We used to use a Diaper Genie and I loved it BUT the darn inserts are outragous and when your little one gets big you go through them very fast. We now use the Diaper Champ which uses garbage bags, it's okay but doesn't keep the smell away as much. When the babies are born, we'll use the Genie again until they get bigger. Oh and I am up using the bathroom CONSTANTLY! It takes me a few minutes just to get up after lying down for any length of time, then I limp to the bathroom, walk back lie down again and feel like I have to go again . All night long!!!

~Meg - Sounds like it was a good day to play hookie! Hookie, hookey, hooky... hmmmm none of them look right to me LOL. I'm totally swollen and dh brought me home a pair of TED stockings today . Talk about feeling like an old lady, but they did help. They were hot though.

~Dar - I think you're right, you won't be needing 30 onesies in the same size. Ds had a bunch of clothes he never got to wear, if people left tags on I could've returned some. At least we'll have another chance to use them .
