Mandy ~ sorry you had to go through that, but I am so glad that they figured out right away what was going on.... stay in there and cook a bit longer little Spencer!! I like the bed set you posted, have you checked out www.overstock.com ?? they have some nice not fruffy bed sets that are not very expensive.

Dena ~ *hugs* to you, stick to what you want and don’t be afraid to voice your opinion to your Dr. ... our little ones will be here soon, when they are good and ready!! If you don’t mind sharing your thoughts what are you leaning towards doing... just beein' a nosey rosie!!

Jefinner ~ no it doesn't sound terrible, you sound human!! We have all thought of the different ways to make are little ones get her... as uncomfortable I am at this point I cant imagine what you are going through !! Hang in there we are all rooting for you little guy to get this show going!!

Star ~ you feeling better?? I hate being sick... but while PG with ttiplets must be awful! As far as the ticker goes i have to copy and paste it onto the post, it wont save in my sig line... somthing about the way the have it coded.

Alli ~ An extended is a bit more narrow and it goes down your inner thigh a bit more.... but not complete front to back like a Brazilian. I would make the appt for a bikini wax and then tell them exactly what you want when you get there so that there is NO confusion. Where the hair down there is concerned I wouldn’t assume anything...LOL !!

Luna ~ Sorry about the MIL issues... i SO feel for you can NOT stand my monster in law... but i wont go into all that!! Go on as if she was not there and have fun it is your shower don't let her ruin it!! Showers, now that's yet another sore subject with me!!

Well had a pretty uneventful weekend, I guess it is a good thing. Friday I got my overhaul.... LOL. I LOVE the day spa!! Nails (hands & feet), Wax (legs & bikini) Facial, and Hair... got a deep condition and had her trim.... um well cut it. I told her to trim the dead ends off, then told her to trim a bit more so that it would be strait across. My hair was to my waist and now it is to my bra strap, freaked me out at first but I will get used to it. At least is is nice and healthy now!! Had my massage Sat morning, didn’t make an appt for next week in *hopes* that I wont be able to make it... wont hold my breath...LOL Went to an art and wine festival late Saturday and waddled around there for a bit. Took it easy today and didn’t install the front door like we where planning on doing... told David that I just didn’t feel up to it. He was so cute a few times today one thing he said was that he got me a mothers day gift but was wondering if he "has too" (his words) also get me a gift for when Payton is born. I just told him to do what he wants, he does not HAVE to do anything. The other thing was he was asking about my hospital bag and what I packed. He asked if I put a change of clothes in there for him, you know I didn’t really think about that. Kinda just assumed that he would go home to sleep, guess I should get a bag together for him. Well ladies I am off to bed I will see you all when I get up. My sleep pattern has been SO whacked that I don’t know when that will be!!

What a horrible night . I thought I might be going. I was extremely uncomfortable and only got an hour or so's sleep. It seemed like both babies were on one side and it hurt terribly. I'm hoping for a good day today.

Chels, I'm so glad you were able to have such a nice day and be able to rest a bit. I'll have to upload some pics in a couple days. We have company for the next two days.. a dear friend of mine that I haven't seen in 3 1/2 years is here!

Chelle, she's so cute and so photogenic. I can't believe how Alison is growing too!!!! They're so cute when they're small, but then again they change so much each day it's alot of fun to watch.

Pauline/VixenAmy.. I was born via twilight sleep. Hard to believe they were still doing that in the 70's.

Alli, I'm sorry you are so uncomfortable.

Anyways, just wanted to pop in to say hello. Alison woke up about an hour ago fussy like she wanted to eat, and is now zonked out on my lap after only eating 1/2 oz. Silly girl! We've had two good nights in a row!!!! We're working on getting her days straightened out, and the past two days, she's been awake most of the afternoon then falls asleep at about 9-10. YES! I'll take it when I can get it.

Yeah, our moms and grandmas did things much differently. With my mom, they gave her demerol for pain, and then a spinal block right before I came out. The only thing with the spinal block is that you're not supposed to move, so I was a forceps baby, which was pretty common practice then. I still can't imagine though, that my dad wasn't allowed in the room. I like having people there who can support me through my labor. With my midwives, it's even better. I will know everyone in the room, because I know all the midwives at the birth center, and then Hank and Allison will be in there. I remember when I had Allison, the only people I knew were Allison's dad, my mom, and my doctor poked his head in at the last minute to catch Allison.

ALI - Do you think there's anything you can do to keep those little guys in there longer? Maybe up your protein a good bit? Eat small meals every hour or so? Lots of water? Lots of rest? This is all stuff that I've just read about and talked to my midwives about... I don't know anything firsthand, I've just always been interested in twin births, and I've asked all sorts of questions.

CHELSEA - Sounds like you had a wonderful day at the spa! I'm jealous! LOL! Although, I'm asking for something similar for Mother's Day, although it'll have to be postponed, since I'll still be on bedrest after the man gets here. (My midwife will make me go to complete bedrest, only taking care of myself and nursing the baby, for a full week, then slowly getting back into action during week 2 and 3... )

Chelsea ~ Oooo...your weeend sounds like it was nice. Mine was okay - the baptism was okay. Kinda boring as my side of the family is so small I didn't know 99% of the people there so me and my father just sat there. And, my "scary cousin Chris" who used to pick on me when I was younger and I still think of him that way touched my stomach!!! *faint* Ewww...I HATE PEOPLE TOUCHING ME!!

So, I had my first stranger notice me being pregnant today. I was Dunkin' Donuts and the lady made a comment on me being pregnant and then was telling her little son (3 or 4) "Look, this lady has a baby in her tummy!" Woo, hoo...that made my morning!

Okay now for my silly vent...I am so emotional right now. I am on the verge of tears...actually I already cried to DH about it. He just laughed at me. But, I told all my friends and my mother that I did not want a surprise shower. That I knew when my bridal shower was and I am going to figure out when the baby shower is so I don't want it a surprise. Well, my mother insists its going to be a surprise. I am going to figure it out...I think I already have and from the look on DH's face, I think I am pretty darn close. I don't know exactly when it is, but I will know it when it comes. My mother told me that it is going to be the last two weeks in July...I think that is bull. Anyway, I keep coming up with these reasons for it to not be a surprise. Like DH has a car detailing business on the side and I make ALL of the appointments. What if I, and chance are I will, make an appt for the day of the shower. How is he going to get out of it without letting on?? So, basically I just called DH crying saying "Why does this have to be a surprise? I do not want it to be a surprise...I told them I didn't want a surprise shower!!" He just laughed!

Hi everyone,

Speaking of what our mothers went through... I was recently going through my baby book and I found the "instructions" that they printed out and gave to my mom when she had me. OK granted it was a military base, but after I was born the took me off to the nursery and made my mom go to bed (it was like 10pm). In the morning (according to the sheet) she had to be up and showered by 6 am at which time they would bring me to her for feeding for 1 hour only. Then she had to go to some sort of baby care class. Dad was only allowed for a couple hours visit too. That's just nuts!!

Chelsea: The doulas were great, thanks for asking. DH is feeling much better about the whole concept now. I'm a total spa junkie too Lately I've been reining it in though in favor of prenatal massages. I'm totally hooked.

Chelle: What a cute photo!! She's getting so big!!

Alli: Sorry you had such a rough night hon. Can you get some naps in today?

Meg ~ Oh, nothing is wrong with a shower being a surprise, but I have never been surprised. I always seem to figure it out and then I am afraid of hurting peoples feelings. I asked even before becoming pregnant for my shower NOT to be a surprise. Even this one is still in the beginning phases and I know where it is, how they are getting me there, when it is NOT going to be and not because I am being snoopy, it's just common sense. My friends/family just don't plan well, or I am just really bright. I don't know exactly when it is but I will know before hand because of how they are going to get me there. It just isn't fun for me. I would rather know when it is.

Have fun in the pool. I don't even own a bathing suit!! LOL

WHY can families not honor the requests of a pregnant woman?? No matter how silly what you want or what you don't want may seem to someone else, it is still what YOU want...right? Isn't that enough? I cannot sympathize enough with you!! I am in the same boat, kind of. I didn't even want a shower and now that I am having TWO, they are both so messy! My family is mad at DH's family and vice versa. If they had listened to me in the beginning....

Even if your family thinks you're silly for being so emotional about the shower, it shouldn't matter. If I was them, I would do whatever I could to keep you (and the baby) happy!

Meg, My mother gave birth in a military hospital too and she said they made her change her own sheets every morning. My doctors are all military but luckily I am not giving birth in a military hospital. I'm sure things have changed anyway.

Well, I had the strep B test today. The baby was being a bit of a brat all curled up on one side and the Doc couldn't get her to move over so we didn't get an accurate measure of my belly. She said that's probably why I have the sciatic pain on that side though.

Luna ~ You are SO right. These showers seem to be more of a pain than they are fun. I had my mother on me for weeks to get addresses together. I was like, why am I doing this?? I could see my friends addresses that she doesn't know, but I had to contact family, etc. Sorry about the stubborn baby and the siatic pain. What is the Strep B test??

Group B streptococcus I think is the full name of the test. Someone else can correct me if I get this wrong. It's just a bacteria (I think) that some women have. It is harmless to the mother but can present problems to the baby during delivery. I think if someone has it they just have some antibiotics in an IV before delivery. They seem to test for it around 36 weeks. My test was just a quick swab.

Jake sent me a package today. It had several DVDs, an Iraqi scarf, a CD full of pics (which is where my avi came from), and a bracelet. The bracelet is really simple and not a girly/pretty/frilly thing, but dh had an identical set made from his old dog tags and he wears one and sent one to me. I love that man.

Nothing new going on here. The hospital has dried my skin out so bad it hurts. I can't keep my feet moisturized no matter how much lotion I put on. Yuk.

MANDY - Can you have anyone pick up any Lubriderm or Shea Butter for you. Shea Butter is AWESOME for really dry skin.

Okay... I'm gonna be a pic ho... So, I walked to the park with Anna... It's about a 20 minute walk, one way down the bike/walk trail.

We pull up, and little one is excited... Too excited to look at her mommy for a picture...


Then I put her in the baby swing, and she likes it and all, but she's still distracted... Still won't look at her mommy...


OOOOH! THIS is what distracts her... I take her to the park and THIS is what she wants to do... Play in the rocks.




Finally, I coax her into walking up the ramp and playing with the wheel... She likes it okay, but mostly she's enjoying the wind... (Notice the hair... LOL!)


Yeah... Goofy kid STILL won't look at me. (Mind you, as soon as I turn the camera off, I have her undivided attention...

Mandy ~ Glad you are keeping your spirits up. DH is a hottie!! I just LOVE a man in uniform. I like the fatige look rather than the dress blues (is that what they are called?). It was neat to feel the kick from the outside. I have been trying to feel them for a while, but never could. Well yesterday evening they felt stronger than usual, so I put my hand down there and what do you know!! I felt it. It passed really quickly and DH was in the other room so he wouldn't have made it in time. I didn't even mention it to him because I didn't want to bum him out. Maybe it will happen again while we are in bed tonight.

Jennifer ~ Oh, she is so cute!! I love her fuzzy hair blowing in the wind. I just love baby hair. So soft looking. Maybe the walk help some?? Good luck!

Amy... LOL! It always seems like they move, and even if DH is RIGHT BESIDE YOU, it will be forever before he feels the baby. It's like they know, then stop. LOL!

Just popping in for a quick hello. Logan is doing better--we gave him a bottle last night--instead of cup feeding, and it is so much easier. I'm sure he's gaining back some of the weight, and he's sleeping pretty soundly and regularly. He gets cuter every day! I'll post some new pics soon.

I think I have the baby blues. I'm crying all the time and basically feeling pretty low. Don't get me wrong, I love my little guy (and my big guy, for that matter), but I just feel really let down about my milk supply, and I can just look at Logan and cry...and not really understand why.

Tomorrow a nurse is coming over--all new parents get a house call in the first couple of weeks from the....hmmmm...what would it translate to?...I guess the socialized pediatrician department. That should be intersting. Then Wed we meet with the circumcision doctor.

Oh, does anyone know where I could find info about bottles? Like...how long can formula go without refridgeration? Or, can the baby drink 1/3 of the bottle, then save the rest for later? I went to the store today to check out the formula selection. There is none, one kind only, and from what I can tell it doesn't have the DHA or ARA (is that right?) Luckily, he doesn't seem to have any problems with the formula so far.

Chels, mmmmmm spa day! What I wouldn't give for a ginger carrot scrub from Bliss! Add me to the group of spa junkies! Tomorrow in the shower, I'm pledging to give myself a ginger scrub!

Smiley, that actually sounds kind of fun, trying to spoil a surprise party by snooping around. Reminds me of Christmas morning, when my brothers and I used to sneak out before dawn and get our stockings and take them into the bathroom with Scotch tape and an exacto knife to snoop!
