I only have time for a quicky—our internet has been down and I’ve been really busy...thanks for all the nice comments

Dar, yep, graco Blackwell. My milk STILL hasn’t come in, so I’ve had to start supplementing with formula. That puts him in enough of a food coma that he doesn’t seem to mind the crib for the most part. I still can’t believe we made it! *hugs*

Chels, I didn’t touch the food! Well, I made one breakfast of musli, dried fruit and milk—that was OK. Otherwise, hubby brought in outside food for us.

Smiley, I’ve had a runny nose since November!

I’m way behind on the thread…and don’t have time to catch up right now. The in-laws are coming this afternoon—way way too early!! I have a meeting with the doula in an hour and a half, have to bake brownies and keep to this insane feeding schedule—every three hours I have to nurse, feed him formula from a cup, then use the breast pump for an hour. It basically leaves me an hour in between feedings. I don’t know how much longer I can keep it up, I’ve had to go into the hospital with him every morning since Wednesday because he lost a pound and a half! I’m really hoping my milk will come in, but today the nurse/midwife told me I might have to make some decisions if it doesn’t improve in a week. I’m extremely moody/emotional/overwhelmed by everything right now—but at least Logan is eating something. Sigh

Dena- I responded to your thread on the playground, but let me reinforce: do some thinking about what it is that YOU want. You know your own body better than anyone else. Take that knowledge, and go to bat for yourself. Do not let yourself be bullied into something that you do not want. If you hit 42 weeks and nothing is happening yet, than maybe you can reconsider. The thing is, if there is no real danger to you or to Lil'Jackets, why not be patient, if that is what you want? Mother nature will tend to everything in her own time. Be firm with your doctor. She can't make you do anything. THe rest of us here will support you, no matter what your decision. Sit down with DH and decide what's best for you.

Yes, its getting cramped in here already. If someone wants to be friendly and 'teach' me how to post a photo, I'll get a tummy shot up for you all to peek at.

Dar- I'm glad she got her tummy issues sorted out. I hope the soy formula works for you. I know that when I switched my last one to formula, it took forever to find one that agreed with him. He also slept in his car seat for the first 2 months. I think he just felt more secure there, you know? Hey, whatever gets you all through the nights.

Amy (Smiley) - Don't be too busy, you're pregnant, you know? *wink* I know exactly how you feel about not wanting to eat. I'm in the same boat. If you're not feeling hungry, grab ahold of a couple of protein shakes and slurp them in between meals. You'll get in a few extra calories and vitamins without feeling so bogged down.

Nikole- Hi! Great bunch of mommies here, you'll love 'em. Good luck with your baby making!

Jai- I'm sorry you're having troubles. Hopefully it'll sort itself out and you'll be feeling much better soon. ((Hugs))

Luna- My ex mother in law was horrible. Nice lady, and she meant well, but I couldn't stand her. After my son was born and I was trying to BF, she actually walked up to me and started yanking my breasts into position! She also barged into the delivery room after I had stated that I didn't want her there...... OMG...... *sigh* Be patient, grasshopper, and think happy thoughts of Karmic Rebound.

thopki00- Welcome and congratulations on the stork!

Becca- as long as you're contemplating doggies, can you get a beagle for me? That stinks about the teeth. Ouch!

Melanie- Bedrest, huh? I'm sorry to hear about that. Take care of yourself, and make sure that your little one is okay, too! Good luck at the doc!

Amy (Vixen)- If you've got cervical twinges, try doing some squats or bounce on your birthing ball a bit (if you've managed to get it inflated). Some of it is pressure, but some of it might be your pelvis spreading out. It pulls on everything and you get twinges. I feel for ya, it stinks to be uncomfy. Especially there.

Feeling much better - I think my flu's about gone. I took my little guy to the park today, and we played on the swings and stuff. He managed to climb the cargo nets and ladders all by himself! I'm not ready to let go yet! Waaaaaaaaaaah! Then we went out to the airport and watched the planes and fighter jets take off. He's gotten really good at being able to name all the planes from looking at them. He can pick out F-16's. C-130's. 727's and DC-10's. Yay!

I've got the weekend off, and I think we're going swimming and to the zoo. Should be a lot of fun. We also have plans to go to one of the university's film festivals and see "The Muppets Take Manhattan".

Hey everyone...HAPPY FRIDAY!! WOO, HOOOO!!

Sorry if I missed anything major yesterday. I just kinda skimmed the thread.

Vixen ~ I am SO with you on the shower being too close to the EDD. Unless my family is trying to throw me off, they have told me that my shower will be in the last two weeks of July! I am due 8/5, what if I go early? I still will need to get things, wash them, set them up. I am freaking a bit, but my mother says not to worry, she will be here to help. I am half hoping that they are trying to trick me and that my shower will be earlier. I asked them not to have it a surprise but they insist. I think I know how they are getting me there so I may figure it out.

Chelsea ~ Mmmm...a hot tub sounds so good right now.

Martha ~ Glad you were able to check in. Sorry BF isn't going good right now. I hope that your milk comes in soon so that you don't have to "make some decisions". Oh...and those brownies sound SO good!!

Starfire ~ Have fun this weekend!! Your plans sound fun. Yeah, maybe I should pick up some protein shakes. Know any that are edible??

So, I worked so hard yesterday!! I came in early, worked through lunch and stayed almost an hour and a half late! *phew* I have discovered that hole punching my filing sometimes hurts my stomach muscles. I had A LOT to do yesterday and my tummy was sore last night.

I have my cousins babys baptism to go to Sunday, but it is so early in the morning!! Ewww...I have to leave my house around the time I ususally get up in the morning durin the week. But hey, there is a catered reception following.

Also, wish me luck tomorrow. I meet with my old landlord to get my security deposit - I hope! She is being a major pain and are aparently mad about stupid things and her DH is pissed that me and DH moved out. I say let them try and pull something because I will take them to court SO fast!!

Anyway, I will try to pop back later. My boss is out today so hopefully it is a lzzy day.

Hi Ladies,

I had my OB appointment yesterday with the midwife. My doctor was booked and rather than get squeezed in and wait forever I chose to see her. I am measuring 43 WEEKS!!!!! She pretty much assured me that the babies are pretty much safe now. NOT that we'd want them to come early but if they do, they SHOULD be okay. I'm really swelling quite a bit now and it's not going down like it was. I guess it's time to start watching the salt intake. BP is good and my bloodwork came back good as well. I also started having weekly non-stress tests. Everything was well this week, they were kicking eachother in there!
Ds has been giving us a run for our money lately. He keeps trying to "escape" from his room when it's bed time. For naps, he's okay with the door being closed but at night he wants the door open for some reason. There is NO WAY we can let him have free reign of the house at night. He's never gotten out and roamed before but I'm petrified of a first. He is very into electrical things and I just can't trust him to come right to our room . Any suggestions?
For those that are having problems putting babies in cribs, have you tried a cradle? We used a cradle for ds and he was fine. We would roll up a receiving blanket and put it at the top of the cradle and make sure his head hit the blanket. We also used the positioning rolls, so maybe he felt more secure that way.
It seems like a lot of people are having troubles with bfing too. Did any of you take anything herbal or anything while still pregnant to bring on labor or anything? I'm wondering if that could have anything to do with it. On another herbal note, the nurses at our hospital recommend a tea called Mother's Milk for women that want to try to get there milk in.
I'll pop back in later, I'm kind of grumpy. Hope all is well with everyone and congrats to the new moms to be .

Chels-The pictures look great! You are getting so close-it's almost over sweetie! Do you pretty much have everything ready?

Martha-Do you know why your milk hasn't came in yet? Is it a medical reason I wonder? I'm sorry your going through this-did your mom have problems nursing? I hope things will get easier.

Hello to all of the new preggies and WELCOME!!!

Dena-I wanted to mention this to you: By next Sunday your doctor still wants to induce, maybe ask her if you can just come in for the night to do the Cervidill. Then GO HOME. Wait a few days, have her check to see if any progress was made, if not, try the Cervildill again and wait a couple days more. A Pitocin induction won't be sucessfull if your cervix isn't ready. If at this point you're at 42 weeks and your cervix IS ready, ask her to break your water and let things happen on their own without the pitocin. I had my doctor break my water w/o the Pit this time and I didn't have any complications. I did end up getting an epidural and after that I had them go ahead and crank up some pitocin to speed things up, and boy did it! I was 3 CM at 12:00 when I got the epidural and I delivered at 1:25. I know not all inductions are not as sucessful as mine was, but my point is, if your cervix is ready it should go pretty smooth.

Me and Chad are doing well, he gained 1 lb at his 2 week check up. So far my only complaint is that he started spitting up this week. Blech. DD spit up ALOT until she was 7 months, I was really hoping Chad would be different.

I actually stepped on the scale today and I'm only 12 lbs away from my pre-pregnancy weight!!! The cool thing is, I've been eating like a horse latley. I need to get refocused. DH and I are going back to LC on Monday. Weighing today really motivated me.

I'm telecommuting today (thank god!) Seriously, I don't know how people work right up to the end when they have any kind of commute!

Our doulas are coming over tonight. There are 2 that rotate so we get to know both of them. I think tonight we're going to be working on the birth plan. DH is not to sure on the doula thing, but I think it's going to be a godsend.

Not much to report really, except the usual complaints. Wicked bad round ligament pain is back with a vengeance. Not much I can do about that I suppose. I'll take that over back pain any day, however.

Alli, how are you feeling? I can not imagine measuring that far ahead and still having 10 weeks to go. My nurses said that most twin pregnancies usually don't make it past 36 weeks though, so maybe you can get some relief.

Amy, good luck getting your deposit back. I hope your old landlord isn't too nasty about the whole thing.


One of my nurses came in a put lotion on my feet today. It felt so good. This room has made my skin so dry it is ridiculous.

I finally got all my papers graded and sent back to my internship site. I'm so glad I have that done and out of the way. Now I get to start filling out baby shower invites. Luckilly I'll have some help with that tomorrow.

Starfire, thanks for the advice. Seems like a lot of the bedrest stuff I've been reading relates to multiples, has your Dr told you to expect it at some point?

Amy, good luck with your landlord. I always hated that kind of stuff. I would've been that way about my shower, I wanted it in June, now we might wait until after baby.

Ugh. My cats are annoyed at me taking up the couch, now I have one laying on my head.

Alli - good luck containg your DS! I worried about that with my nephew, he's such a crazy kid...

Heather - you should be back to pre-preg any day!

Meg - so glad you get to telecommute. That's basically what I'm doing now. Are your people good about communicating with you?

Mandy - so glad you're doing well! It's got to be nice to know how far you've gotten already. I hope I don't end up in the hospital anytime soon! All my labs came back good, but my bp's still up. The Dr. said I could sit in a recliner a bit "when your side hurts". DH convinced him to let me go see SW, since we already have tickets...

I also told my Mom today, she flipped out. I told her she can't come up if she's going to cry.

In-laws are here today, so we've been busy. Went to Sam's to check out prices, then went to The Children's Place where MIL gets a discount (works for The Disney Store) and she bought lots of clothes for Alison. Then, went to dinner. So, busy busy day.

Anyways, I've decided to cut back on the breastfeeding. I have not fed Alison from the breast since yesterday, just pumped. I don't know what we did, but my right breast burns like fire when she tries to feed off of it, and she's been resisting lately. So, it's just so frustrating that I'm cutting back.

Martha, sent you a PM. I know what you're going through. I was just there!

Mandy, is there anyone that can come in to give you a manicure or pedicure?? I bet that would feel so great with a massage!!!!

Heather, I'm glad to hear Chad is doing so well! I weighed Alison on Monday, and she was back up to her birth weight. And it seems like she's gained a ton more since then! I'll have to weigh her again just to see. She's going to join Elana in the piggy girl status!
