Why oh why didn’t anyone warn me that the end of my pregnancy was going to be SO freekin' uncomfortable !! I am SO feelin' for you Jen passed your DD and hauling around a little line backer, come on Ezra time to make you grand appearance !!!! I would love to be able to just hibernate till my little guy is ready to come out...LOL. And I keep remembering little things that *need* to be done before he gets here. Dena you would have been proud of me.. I SO need to clean my disaster of an office, since I haven't been taking any new jobs I kinda have let it go. But instead of cleaning I walked up to my neighbors house and sat and visited with them all night. Guess part of that is because come Wed/Thurs I tend to get lonely, David working swings is MUCH better than graves but I still don’t see him much during his work week (Tues-Fri) well I am off to float in the the hot tub, then it's nighty night for me...... see you all in the AM!!

Chelsea- I LOVED your photos. They turned out terrific, and you are absolutely beautiful. I can't put my finger on it exactly, but there's something about how a pregnant woman looks that's just so natural and gorgeous... and you show it perfectly.

Amy (Smiley) - nice tummy shot! You don't look 'fat' at all. You're beautiful, and don't let anyone make you feel different.

Meg- I'm crossing my fingers that your boss goes along with all your plans for telecommuting. Working in the last couple of weeks really stinks. I worked all the way up until my water broke with my last one.... we'll have to see about this one. *wink* I may decide to be lazy.

Becca- Its okay if you're feeling hormonal. We all get that way. Take a moment (or a few) for yourself. Light a couple of candles, sip on a mug of tea, and just 'be'. About the puppy..... go with your gut. You'll have a lot on your hands soon enough, I'd guess. I held off on getting any new furbabies until my little guy was over a year old, and I'm glad that I did.

Dar- I'm sorry you're having some rough nights. It's hard, I know. I forget, are you BFing or formula feeding? When my little one was constipated, my pediatrician told me to mix a bit of light Caro Syrup into his bottle - it worked great. Check with your pediatrician and see if he or she has any helpful hints.

jehcekah- I'm sorry that you're not sleeping well. If baby moves a lot at night, try this: don't have anything sugary (juice included) close to bedtime. Also avoid caffiene (tea included). Chamomile tea and a bath, and you should be okay to go. Also, I noticed with my last one, that if I stretched out before bed, he moved around less. So I started doing modified yoga positions, and it helped out a bunch. Also felt really good on my muscles.

As for myself, I'm finally getting over the flu that I had. I was able to be up and around today with not too much difficulty. I was in to see my doctor, and I am happy to report that I am having 2 boys and a little girl! My doctor is still concerned because of my lack of weight gain. I've only put on 8 pounds since getting pregnant, and I've got a considerable tummy on me. Anyone with experience here?

My back is much better today!

I just got back from the doctor. Nothing is happening. Apparently my cervix is intact and not thinning....first she checked with just her hand and wanted to make sure it was my cervix she felt and not something else like a cyst because she was surprised how thick it still was....so, she used the speculum (sp) to really get a good feel and she said it was my cervix. my fundus is still measuring at 39 weeks, she checked it twice to confirm that I have not dropped. I have an appointment next Wednesday and she said that if there still wasn't any progress, she wanted to admit me Sunday evening to ripen my cervix and eventually get me on pitocin..but she said she can't even break my water until I start to dilate...which isn't happening. Maybe something will happen this week, but I don't think it will be a birth....I will probably still end up on the pitocin even if I efface. I have mixed feelings about it.....

Starfire, our ped also suggested the syrup, but she had 3 bm's yesterday, so she's not constipated. Just a bit gassy, so I gave her some Mylicon. She's also going back to the soy based formula today (finished up the milk based free sample we had), so it will be interesting to see if it makes a difference. I'm not sure it will.

We had a better night last night, after 3 am, but it was still a few hours sleep. Alison ended up sleeping in her swing, but it worked. Some nights she likes her Pack n Play, others she doesn't. She does love to be held most of the time, and I think the PNP is just to big and open for her right now.

One quick thing...

I was just getting ready to flip the calendar at work and I was writing in my Dr's appts for May/June and realized that I am not going every two weeks instead of once a month!! Okay...this is going WAY too fast for me!

Another quick question. I am finding that I am falling back into the bad habit of not wanting to eat. I am hungry in the AM but then I don't want to eat lunch. Or I will get something and decide I don't want it. So, I seem to only be eating breakfast, maybe a late afternoon snack and a small dinner. Someone I work with said maybe my stomach is getting smooshed and I am just not feeling hungry as often. Anyone else have this?? I am kind of nervous I am going to start losing weight again. DH is mad at me.

Dena-Have you been taking evening primrose oil? They really helped rippen my cervix that last week I was overdue. I took 1, 3 times a day orally, and inserted 2 vaginally twice a day, before bed and in the afternoon before my nap. Eating fresh pineapple will also help.

I haven't done anything yet since I was 39 weeks and 2 days. It feels a little like I am being rushed. Where do you get the primrose oil?

It's on the vitimin isle at Wal-mart next to the Fish oil. I started taking them orally at 36 weeks, then orally and vaginally starting at 39 weeks. Just make sure you stay laying down for a couple hours after you insert them, otherwise you will just discharge the oil.

I have read that women who are overweight and lose weight have an easier time concieving. I think I could learn alot here and find some support. I just wanted to introduce myself.

Hi everybody!

Sorry I haven't been around lately. We've been pretty busy. I have been doing OK. Still pregnant!!!

However I have had a few small problems.
My Dr. put me on a 2hr diet...
BLECK!! Well, I have been feeling dizzy for about a week and nearly fainted lastnight so DH called the ER and told them what is going on. My Dr. called back today and told me I need to eat something every two hoursand push more fluids! So I have been trying but I feel bloated and stuffed all day! I already was drinking nearly a gallon of water a day. Not to mention nausiated and on the brink of vomitting. Also I am still dizzy, but she wants me to stick it out till I see her on Monday.

Has anyone else had to do this? Apparently my blood sugars are plummeting and that is what is making me so dizzy??

They are adding a glucose test to the labs on Monday also. Is this a symptom of gestational diabetes? I hope not!

I just hope this doesn't make me gain a TON of weight! DH thinks it will do the opposite and increase my metabolism.

Well, here is my vent! I have a shower next week and my friend was planning a kickin' little party. I just found out my mother in law is planning to come. I don't get along great with her and I feel like she is crashing and no one will have any fun. But I can't really tell her no without causing trouble. She lives 7 hours away too so that means she will be here for a few days! There's not really anything I can do about it, I'm just complaining. I was thinking of going out for a pedicure on one of the days she's here so I can get a break! So do any of you get along well with your mother in law?

Greetings everyone! It's been a long while since I visited the board but I'm doing great! I lost 53 lbs prior to conception. This pregnancy has been so different as a result. I passed my GD test the first time and have NO PIH!!!!! I had PIH with my first son and had to go on bedrest at 28 weeks. It was awful. I currently only weight 6 lbs more than I did when I got pregnant with my first son and I'm 31 weeks!!! I've only gained 21 of the 53 lbs. that I lost. Congrats to all of you!!
My DD is 6/28/05 with boy #2 if you'd like to add me.

Luna, I have to admit that I am blessed with a wonderful mother-in-law. We had to lay some ground work early on because there was potential for it to be an intrusive relationship, but things are great now. I have a lot of repsect for my in-laws.

Had to take my son to have his 2 front teeth extracted today. Abcess. He had no clue they even did it. I sooooo love pediatric dentists! He is almost 6 and these were his first teeth lost. The tooth fairy brings big bucks for those teeth!

I will try to get on later and do personals. Just doing a drive by today.

Oh and now DH wants a Rotweiller. I think I'm more okay with that. LOL

Hi, all. I've been lurking lately, my Dr put me on bedrest last Fri for my BP. thopki00, I'd love to hear about your experience. I'll be 27 weeks on Sun. I go back tomorrow, we'll see what all my lab work shows. He had me do the 24 hr urine test, too.

Well this baby is being a big squirmer lately... she just twists and turns and wiggles around, feels like all the time! Sometimes when she moves the most I feel what I can only describe as twinges in my cervix... it isn't what I would call painful, but it makes me squirm in my seat! God, I hope things aren't starting to progress down there THIS early... we really need her to stay in until at least June 10th... that should give us enough time to get the new apartment mostly put together and organized... I just have a feeling I won't be that lucky... but whether that's maternal instinct, or just my feelings of bad luck, I don't know!

Oh, and now my baby shower has been postponed another week... fantastic . I didn't want it that late in my pregnancy to begin with, and now it's even later... not until May 14th! I'll be 35 weeks... too late! We still have so much stuff we have to get and now we have to wait even longer to see what's given to us. I hate sounding greedy, but we can't afford to double buy on anything... and returning items isn't always an option since a lot of stores will only give store credit, and that'd still be money we need for groceries and stuff. ~sighs~ This is just getting to be too much of a pain! Oh well... I'm trying to think good thoughts about it... at least my friend cares enough to throw me one, but still... all baby shower books say that it's only polite to throw the shower at the mama's convenience since it's FOR her... well, middlw May isn't very convenient for me! ~takes a deep breath~ happy thoughts happy thoughts

Vixen Amy - do you have anyone close by that can loan you stuff if you do go early? We had a lot of late showers and had friends offer to loan car seats and stuff if someone were to come early.....although that doesn't seem to be an issue for me anymore.

Unfortunately no... we know two people around here who have children, but they're still babies and still using the stuff we need. We're completely set on clothes, which is the main thing anyone is offering us ~laughs~ well, that and swings... we've had 3 swings offered to us so far ~laughs~

I'm really really hoping I don't go before the shower... I wouldn't be full term yet, so I very much want to avoid that... I'm just concerned that we won't have time to save money and buy the remaining stuff we need after the shower. Ah well... happy thoughts happy thoughts... it'll all work out... right? ~laughs~

Dena, I wasn't wanting my MIL to come because we don't get along. She likes to make little digs and criticisms to me constantly and it grates on my nerves. But I spoke to my friend who is throwing the shower for me today and she sort of made me feel better. I'm just going to try to ignore any bad vibes she sends and enjoy myself!

By the way, I saw your thread on the Playground about possible labor intervention. I think I was misunderstanding you before. So, let me say I hope things will progress for you! (Maybe this weekend!)
