Okay... I'm a total preggo brain, so hopefully I changed all the weeks correctly!

HOLA!

I'm so tired... I got no sleep this weekend, b/c the inlaws were in town, and I didn't feel comfortable going to sleep on the sofa (for some reason, it's the only place I can sleep right now) with them here. I was really hoping to go into labor this weekend, but no such luck. So, today I call the sonographer and make the appointment for the biophysical profile. I know that everything's probably okay in there, but I get the Mommy worries, nonetheless. Oh, and I don't even answer my phone anymore unless it's Hank... How terrible is that? I'm getting ready to leave an outgoing message telling everyone that NO, I haven't had the baby, but when I do, we'll call. LOL!

Jennifer ~ Hugs to you. I can understand why the mommie in you is concerned even though everything is probably fine. Keep us posted.

Starfire ~ I couldn't remember who was having the triplets. A new poster asked if anyone was having twins and I mentioned that we had one lady having twins and another having triplets, but I couldn't remember who. Don't worry...pop in when you can. We are all busy!

So, I had a rough night last night. DH and I knew that our bed/frame was *****ing the bed, but didn't realize how bad it was. This bed is like 35 years old and we notice that the frame was warping and when you sat on it, it kind curved. Well I couldn't sleep last night, was tossing and turning when around 12:30 or so, I turned and we heard a loud "snap"!! I was so afraid to move...thinking the bed was going to collapse. So, I made DH get out of bed to try to take the frame/headboard/footboard apart so we could just put the boxspring and mattress on the floor. Well, the frame was in there and it was too late to go banging the metal frame se after arguing because we were both tired we put the mattress on the floor. Let me just say...my hips are KILLING me from having no support from the boxspring. Then this morning becuas the mattress took up the whole room, I had to try and sleep through DH walking across the mattress over and over trying to get ready for work. So, I only got like 4 hours of sleep last night. I am SO tired! So, looks like we are going to have to go buy a new frame!

Well, hope everyone is doing well. Also hoping to hear from Martha soon!

good morning all.
Jefinner-I would go right ahead and leave that outgoing msg. A friend of mine went 2 weeks over and the constant phone calls checking her progress prompted her to do just that because she was so frustrated. I think it's a great idea!
Amy- Sorry about your bed! Good grief. Why does everything happen in the wee hours of the morning. What a supportive hubby too. I had mine up at 5am one morning searching for my "magic bag" of microwave oats for a splitting headache which he did without complaint, and found too. Hope you find time for a nap today!

Aside from clothing struggles, all is well here. Excited to be 18 weeks along!

Morning everyone

My EDD is 12/24/05 lol yep, how cute! Im having an u/s this morning to rule out ectopic. I am feeling twins but I wonder if its too early to tell? Since I had surgery on my tubes they automatically have to rule out ectopic just to be sure. At just 5 weeks I wonder if they will even find my lil peanut lol

Okay...another rant!! I am wearing a new pair of pants today. Linen. Well, they have stretched beyong belief and I look like I am walking around with a load in my pants!! I think I might be ironing these when I get home and returning them. Not attractive AT ALL!! I am very self conscious today!!

The same thing happened with me on Saturday with jeans. I thought they were ok straight out of the wash, but no matter how I yanked them up all day, the saggy butt was not to be believed! This is hard to get used to.

Hey Gals, the saggy butt in the pants might get better as you get bigger, I had to rollup the waist of maternity pants for awhile with my last 2 pregnancies. This time I wasn't working so I just wore my regular Old Navy yoga pants all the time.

I read the weekend thread and then took Jake to the bus and forgot everything I wanted to say!

I was thinking last night of another tip for you guys.

Things I didn't know about newborns

Baby boys or girls can develop "breasts" for a few days or so from the mother's hormones crossing the placenta. Only about the size of a quarter or half dollar but if you feel it, that is what it is!

Also, baby girls can have a mini period in the first few days or so...tiny tiny amount. Totally normal

Baby boys and girls will come out with swollen genitals. Don't be alarmed. Your baby boys testicles won't be that big. LOL

Baby boys will have erections when they sleep. I was shocked the first time I saw this! I honestly didn't think that happened until they were older!

Becca- I did go to the social on Friday. I failed at trying to buy a new outfit but did have a fun time. It took me until after midnight to get up the urge to dance because I felt self concious, but had a great time visiting with friends at the table anyways as the music wasn't so loud that you couldn't carry on a conversation. I found out though that DH thought I was unable to dance while pregnant! Because I told him I couldn't snowmobile he thought this was comparable! If I jerk around as much on the dance floor as I do on a snowmobile, someone should yank me off the floor before I make a complete fool of myself. ha ha.

not really in the posting mood today, but I had to stop by and "lurk" to check up on my girls. Had a rough weekend that is spilling over into the week. Ended up installing the doors and it took all weekend... I am physically and emotionally pooped. Saturday night a local police officer was shot, his wife is 7 months pregnant with there first... a little boy named Cody. They declared him brain dead this morning and are preparing for organ donation. Given all the similarities kinda hits home. Am I a bad person for feeling a bit relived that its not me going through this?? Send a little prayer out to his wife, I don’t even want to imagine the hell she is going through right now.

Chelsea....is there anything you are doing that is going to make a difference once the baby is here? I really wish you would slow down and enjoy these last few weeks. Sorry for being so blunt, but I find the more I relax, the better I feel physically and mentally. I cut my "to do" list way down....I decided I'm not going to panic if the pantry doesn't get reorganized before the baby gets here. I just can't describe to you the difference I feel since I have been resting more.

I am so sorry to hear about the officer. I can only imagine how close to home it hit you guys. It would have scared the crap out of me!!

Jefinner....what are we going to do with Ezra? You must be quite the incubator.....I've been craving oreos, I was joking with my doctor and telling her if this baby didn't drop I was going to put some oreos down there and try to bribe it out!!!

I'm having a pity party today. Anyone care to join me?

My advisor called me this morning and the education department is not going to allow me to graduate next week. I am super upset. They are requiring me to make up the 5 weeks of my internship that I've missed due to being in the hospital. I told dh that it isn't like I'm up here having some kind of fun time. I did everything that was required of me while I was interning: I had all my observations done and, techincally, served all my time. While all the other interns didn't start teaching until week 5, I started my second day, which would offset the 5 weeks I've missed. All they want me to do is serve the time. I don't think they realize what a pain that is going to be. I'm going to have to find someone to keep Spencer for 5 weeks and he won't be able to go to a daycare center because he'll be a preemie and it'll be RSV season. I'm going to have to be allowed to leave and go pump every few hours, which I imagine will be a huge pain to the school. It is so frustrating. I've done nothing but bust my butt for that university for the last 4 years and they can't give me one freaking break. Needless to say, as soon as my time is finished in the fall, I'm writing scathing letters to anyone who will listen, including senators and newspapers. And I'll play up the fact that Jake is in Iraq. Might as well use that fact to my advantage while I can.

I'll BBL to do personals. Maybe I won't be so mad by then.

Mandy, sorry for the treatment you are receiving from the University. You should be cut a break for working so hard and getting the actual requirements done. As your case is Doctors orders I don't understand why they have a problem with it. That's awful.

Look what I found in the play yard....and if you look close enough, you can see his partner in crime in the cradle....it's cute now, but we might have some issues when baby gets here! I need to work with them, but I am afraid if I scare them, they might build up some resentment.....

Dena ~ Your kitties are so cute! I am a little nervous about my two cats and how they react to cribs, etc - not to mention a baby - in the house. I registered for one of those "tents" to go over the crib, but I don't know how practical they are.

Dena ~ Ziggy is doing really good. I guess he is settling in. Funny thing is all of a sudden, he LOVES going outside. I think the difference is that when I would take him out, he was on a leash. At my mom's he is on a run. My mom hooks it to their leash, opens the door and off they go. I guess he spends all kinds of time outside. Until today...LOL. He was all happy to go out this morning, my mom hooks the leash, opens the door...Ziggy stops dead in his tracks and runs the other way and hides under the table. It was raining!! LOL He hates the rain. He is an old dog and my mom said she has never seen him run so fast in his life. My mom had to physically put him out the door and yell "Go pee!" over and over at him.
