Full moon this weekend... hopefully we will have some baby's !!

Martha and Jen this is probably getting old ... but sendin' labor vibes your way!!

Hey Mandy, how you and little Spence doing? What books do you have, I was going to throw some of my hand me downs into your care pkg that should go out next week.

Michelle ~ thanks for the pic's, her chubby little cheeks always put me in a better mood!!

Dena ~ I agree with your Dr on the weight thing (as does my Dr) must have been wierd when you left work. Good luck at your appt Wed, i have one on Monday.... hopefully we both have some "action" going on down there!!

Salty ~ Woo Hoo on the bleeding stopping, keeping my fingers crossed that it does not come back!! As my nephew would say "stinky nurses" (he's not allowed to say stupid)...LOL

Alli ~ How you felling??

Val ~ How was your night out, what did you end up wearing??

Amy (smiley) ~ Glad to hear you had a good Friday!! Oh and you didn’t drive us mad... most of us where already that way to start with...lol !!

Karen ~ Good luck at your appt. on Monday

Dar ~ Hello to you, sure you are enjoying your sweet little girl !!!

Becca ~ Glad to hear I am not the only one in the peein' your pants club!!

Jen ~ How is your little man??

Louise ~ Have fun at the Flea Mkt... love going to those. Still Still keepin' my fingers crossed that AF does not show... don’t you love the waiting/symptom game??!!

Heather ~ Chad is SO cute thanks for taking the time to share the new pics with us!! Love the lighting with him in the bouncy chair....

Tammara ~ So sorry that I didn’t answer your question on Tues, I am a dork...LOL. I am 5'7'' was 160 pre pregnancy and am almost 180 now. I gained about 3 inches on my boobs right away, and I was a 36D to begin with, cant wait for my milk to come in....NOT!! I love my belly belt, the only issue I have had is wearing shirts that are long enough to cover it (didn’t buy many maternity shirts) she may have talked you out of it in hopes that you would buy their overpriced jeans...LOL

Vixen ~ Loved the MedWife comment !!

My massage was wonderful, just what I needed!! For all the girls involved in the ice cream talk Friday, I couldn’t help but stop by Cold Stone on my way home. But I did promise myself that if there was not parking right in front that I wouldn’t stop (parking sucks there) as fate would have it there was a spot smack dab in front. So I got a quart of my fav banana ice cream with roasted almonds, black cherries & fudge mix in's. It was absolute heaven, even if I only had 1/2 a cup....LOL. Looks like it SHOULD be a pretty quite weekend, only thing we have to do is install these doors, maybe I can sweet talk my neighbor into doing them with David so that I don’t have to.... my poor hubby really sucks at anything handyman related. Good thing I grew up on a farm and know how to do most of that stuff, just really don’t feel like doing much these days besides floatin' in the hot tub!!
xoxo Chelsea

Chels, I was a 36D before I was pregnant too, now I'm a DD. I started sleeping in sports bras right away. I am NOT looking forward to getting even bigger after the baby. I'm so afraid that getting really big and sore will discourage me from breast feeding.

GoJackets, I wish I had your doctor!!! My doctor is young, tall, and thin and during my last appointment 3 weeks ago, I had gained 4 lbs. in 2 weeks (I had just gotten back from vacation.) I originally told the nurse I didn't want to be weighed since I was just here 2 weeks ago and got weighed and joked that I was on vacation and gained weight. She was o.k. with not weighing me. At the end of my appointment, my doctor told me I had to be weighed and she can't believe the nurse let me get away with that. When she saw I gained four lbs., she told me it was too much weight and I should only gain .5 lb. per week.

I like my doctor a lot, but now I'm so afraid to get weighed there!!! My next appointment is in 2 weeks, and I should only be up 2.5 lbs., but I know I'll probably be more! I'm not dieting by restricting my calories. I eat healthy foods when I'm hungry with occasional snacks.

I do focus on my growing baby and what s/he needs. I have to put the silly weight issue to the side!!

Hope everyone else is doing well!

Don't worry, Tammara, they'll get sore even if they don't change size. Ok, that's meant to be a joke. I'm sure you'll do fine.

Regarding weight.. I gained 50 pounds. My dr. NEVER once said a thing about my weight.. other than that I was "doing great". I've already lost 30 pounds, so am now 20 pounds above pre-pregnancy weight 2 1/2 weeks post partum. Don't fret over it.

LOL.. well, they say BFing helps to burn the calories.. plus forgetting to eat helps, I'm sure. Not that I'm BFing a whole lot, but I'm sure my body's working pretty hard to produce that small amount I'm getting.

Sorry I've been so behind. Last night was the first long stretch of sleep I've had. Alison slept from 10 pm to 3 am!!!!! I could hardly believe it. I hope you are doing well. She's alseep right now after her morning feeding, and I was attempting to print pictures so I could finish the "countdown to baby" scrapbook, but my printer ran out of ink! Ugh!!!

TOM showed up. I actually am not upset about it. I am going to start charting tomorrow. At least now we will have a method to our madness and won't just be on the "let's do it a lot and see what happens plan."

Off to look at junk. I'll be back later for personals.

Why would getting big and sore discourage you from breastfeeding? You're gonna get sore either way. I went from a 36C to a 44H when my milk came in and the breast feeding is going really well. The only disadvantage that I can see having bigger breasts is the limited number of nursing positions that work and I have to support my breast for the baby with my hand....it can get a little cramped after a long feeding. I don't know what I'd do without my nursing pillow. I have both the Boppy and the My Brest Friend pillows and I have to say that the My Brest Friend pillow works a lot better since I am bigger busted. Please don't be afraid of breastfeeding. Even with as big as I am it still works great and I wouldn't trade doing it for formula even if you paid me!

I had a heparin lock. I was able to move around and it was easy for them to administer the doses of antibiotics and also after the birth they were able to quickly give me some medicine and fluids since I was getting dehydrated and hemmoraging after the placenta detached. I was glad I went this route instead of getting stuck several times.

Thanks for answering! I was about to quote my question, but you beat me to it!!! I know that IV's are mandatory where I deliver, but my doctor said I could have the hep lock....but didn't know if that would still apply with the antibiotics. I hope so!! Thanks!!

Ames, when I used go through PMS, my boobs would get really big, sore, and they hurt. I would not want them touched at all. It would even hurt me to take my bra off. So if my breasts feel anything like that after giving birth, it would absolutely discourage me from breast feeding. I know a lot of you will disagree with me, but I would not necessarily be crushed if I didn't breast feed. I know all the studies seem to indicate that breast milk is best for babies for many reasons, but many people I know who have breast fed one child and not another don't seem to think it makes a difference to the child's health or immune system.

Tam-your breasts will be sore after delivery regardless of whether you nurse or not. But if you are nursing, they aren't going to hurt the whole time you nurse. You won't be in pain for weeks. Try it...if you don't like it...don't do it. Your body, your baby, your choice. If you do not nurse, there will be a time as your milk is drying up that you will be uncomfortable. I tried with my 1st 2 unsucessfully and will try with the 3rd and see what happens. IMO-I like that they all will at least get the colostrom.

Dena-Glad you are getting some things done. Don't be discouraged if when you have your internal there is no change. Alot of times with the first it doesn't happen until you actually go into labor.

Louise-Glad you have an answer. Sorry we all talked testing so much...we just get so excited for ya! Begin charting and start BDing! You've had a period now so you know where to start! A few months off BC and you will KNOW when you are ovulating cuz you'll want every man that walks by ya! Good luck!

Hey Dar! Yeah, babies tend to do that at first...stick their fingers in their eyes and up their nose without realizing it. Just don't be afraid to cut her fingernails. Even with them short she might scratch herself. Congrats on the weightloss and on your resolved feeding issues. You sound more relaxed and comfortable now.

Hey Chels! I know what you mean about a DH that isn't handy. I'm the handy one around here. I get tired of it sometimes. LOL Relax all you can...ask the neighbor to help..I'm sure they will.

Jake has a bday party at 2pm and I have to run with Alyssa to my Dad's to pick up some old toys out of the attic. He is moving and downsizing and has alot of antiques so he is having an auction to clean out the house before sale. Kinda sad about that, I will definitely NOT be attending. My parents built that house together in the late 60s early 70s and my father has been there ever since. (Mom died in 87) It is "Home." Very strange knowing he will not be there. Especially since (you will think I'm weird) but I think my Mom haunts that house. LOL Okay, bday party tomorrow to for my nephew. See ya later maybe or Monday.

HI girlies... No real time for personals... Just my little update...

Went to the midwife... I'm 2cm dilated and 40% effaced. If I haven't gone into labor by Monday, I'm gonna call the sonographer and set up an U/S appt, so she can do a biophysical profile to make sure everything's still okay. She says they always do one at 41.5 weeks, if you make it that far. I had started to get worried, because I'm now remembering that there were a few spots on my placenta when Anna was born where they said those parts had died... And she was born just a day shy of 40 weeks. So, as long as I know the placenta is okay, then I won't worry... I'll just gripe and complain about it... LOL!

Hello all.

Chels, I have "Your Pregnancy Week by Week," "Pregnancy Sucks," and "What to Expect." Thank you!

All is going well here. My Mama drove up for a surprise visit from Texas yesterday and spent the night at my house so she could play with my kitties. I worry about them getting enough love and attention since I've been in the hospital, so it was nice to know that they got some this weekend.

I had my best friend pick up my baby shower invites this weekend. If I ever get all my papers graded I'll start compiling addresses and mailing them out. They are really cute.

Anyone know of any good movies on cable this weekend? TV leaves much to be desired on Saturdays and Sundays.

Mandy

Dar, I talk to dh almost everyday. The phone reception has gotten really horrible lately. We'll have 3 minutes of clear reception then 4 minutes of static, 7 minutes of clear and 4 minutes of static, etc. etc. etc. It makes it very difficult to have a conversation. Allison is beautiful, BTW. I love that pic.

Becca, yep, we have basic expanded cable. I think I'd go nuts without it, LOL.

Hi ladies!

Chels, Banana ice cream sounds good. I think I'm about to send my husband out.

Tammeli, you will definitely get encouragement from us if you decide you want to breast feed, but don't feel guilty if you don't want to. It's a personal decision and formula babies are healthy too.

Regarding weight gain, my doctors have never once said a word about being unhappy with how much I've gained. I lost a bit in the 1st trimester and I was down one pound at my last appointment. I actually have not gained much over all and keep expecting a lecture. So far the nurse will kind of talk to me about eating I guess to make sure I’m not dieting.

Hi Ames and Dar! Alison is a cutie. That's great on the weight loss Dar.

Louise, glad you know now at least.

Jefinner, :labor vibes:

Becca, that would be sad to see your childhood home be sold.

GoJ, I liked the belly pic from the other day!

Mandy, I'm glad you and Spencer are doing well. I can only imagine how stir crazy you must be!

I had my childbirth class today and it was great. We went on another tour of the labor and delivery floor, got to see some newborns in the nursery. I feel a little more at ease about labor and delivery now so I guess that's good!

For the past few days I have had this pain. It started on the left side of my lower back and now it’s going down my leg. Makes walking a bit difficult. Anyone have some pain relief tips? I was thinking about calling my doctor if its still there after the weekend.

Alison is adorable!!!!

Just a quick update as it seems I never really have time to get caught up with this site. I even wanted to join the snark thread on they low carb realm...but since I don't get to log on for more than 20 minutes a day...it makes it really hard to be involved in anything anymore.

Megan has had a wonderful couple of days!! I can't believe it!!! It's like a totally different baby. I'm so glad she's feeling better now. She's on the two medicines a day for reflux. Then on Wednesday a lady I work with brought me 2 Dr Brown's bottles to try...they have worked a miracle!!! I wish I had tried them sooner. Even when the doc put her on the 2 different meds we were still having problems. Then I tried the Dr Browns and in just a day and a half we had a happy baby again!!! Now she is just spitting up like the normal baby will do.

She turned 2 months old yesterday...hard to believe she is already 2 months. She looks so much bigger now. I know I'm going to get flammed but I think sometimes we have to raise our children by feel and not by what some darn book is going to say. She has already had rice cereal with some of her bottles so I knew she was ok with it. Yesterday I started feeding her thicker rice cereal with a spoon...she eats it like a pro!!! I couldn't believe it. They're not supposed to be able to move the food to the back of their tongue when they're this early...but she has not problem with it. We also started her on some baby applesauce. She has just been soooo hungry lately that we couldn't keep her satisfied. In the past few days she would eat a 3 ounce bottle, wasn't satisified. Would then eat a 5 oz bottle, still not satisfied. And then would eat another 3 oz bottle before being satisfied. So, at 2 months she was eating 11 oz at a time befor she'd get full. I'm not going to feel bad about it...I have to listen to my baby not some darn book.

Mandy, so glad to see things are going good. I'm glad you're still going to get your baby shower. I hope it goes well.

Sorry I'm running, but it's after 10 pm and I think Megan is down for her long stretch of sleep and if I want to get some sleep I'd better go to bed now.

Luna - I found this:

The sciatic nerve is the largest nerve in the body, providing sensory and motor function to the lower extremities. This nerve provides sensation to the back of the thigh, lower part of the leg and the sole of the foot. Sciatic nerve pain is a periodic severe pain that occurs throughout your legs.
What causes sciatic nerve pain during pregnancy?

The sciatic nerve runs under your uterus to your legs. The cause of sciatic nerve pain is thought to be associated with pressure on the nerve caused by the developing baby.
What can I do to treat sciatic nerve pain during pregnancy?

The simplest remedy is to lie on your side, opposite of the pain. This may help relieve the pressure on the nerve. Avoid heavy lifting and minimize standing for long periods of time. If you experience pressure while standing, try elevating one foot and resting it on something. This may relieve the pain or prevent it from occurring.

You may experience relief by applying heat or cold to the troubled area. Taking acetaminophen (Tylenol) may also relieve the pain.

It is important to contact your healthcare provider if the pain becomes constant, or increases in severity or frequency.

GoJ, thanks! I think it must be the sciatic nerve. If I walk with a severe waddle it helps! I think it must be funny to see me and my husband walking around cause he walks fast and forgets I am slow and has to wait for me to catch up all the time!

Kim, I agree with you. Not all babies are the same. I can't believe that all rules fit all babies. Glad Megan is doing well!

Yep, it's about time for you to go "swayback"....DH says I am a "weeble wobble", remember those? If I try to keep up with others, I get spasms in my back...I just let them go ahead of me! Slow and easy is nice!!
