Hello, ladies.

Congats Heather! Your little guy is so sweet.

Dar--Can't remember if I have posted since you had Alison, so congrats to you too. I love the pic of her in your avatar.

Jefinner and Martha----LABOR vibes to you!!!

Sorry I haven't been around much. I've been sort of depressed. Nothing awful, but I hate not being in control of this process. I hate not knowing what is happening to me. TOM should be here tomorrow (5 weeks since last TOM). This morning after we BD, I asked DH how long we should wait on TOM to show up......he said, well if you don't get it in 3 or 4 months, you should probably see the doctor to see if you are pregnant or if something is wrong with you . Three to four months????? Who waits that long to get a pregnancy test??????? I was thinking we'd test next week if TOM hasn't shown up yet. Plus, I was going to use at HPT, not run to the doctor when TOM was late. I don't know why I got so mad at him. Heck, maybe it is just PMS. Who knows.

So, that's how my morning started off. I guess it can only get better from here.

Sorry you are feeling in a funk Louise. I say test when you feel like testing. Doesn't hurt a thing. The whole process is nerve wracking. DHs don't have a clue either.

Martha-Happy belated Bday! Hope you don't show up today because you are having the baby! LOL

Hey Chels and Jeffiner!

Darlene-Hope things are going better on the feeding front.

Kimism-The nutramagin the most gentle formula you can find. DS was on it for A YEAR! They say they usually stay on that 3-6 mos tops but he was a picky one. Went from nutramagin to whole milk just fine though. I feel for your pocketbook hun. Are you signed up for enfamil coupons? We bought the concentrate and it was expensive. Powder is more economical but DS didn't like it. Hope this one works for ya.

Hey ladies, I need some help... Does anyone know where I can find plus-size maternity clothes? I am 1-2x, petite. I've been to Motherhood Maternity, but they're SO expensive!

Other than not having any work clothes, and none of my t-shirts fitting anymore, I'm doing well. The blood pressure is under control (Thank God!) and I have some energy back. I have a routine appt. this week, and will get the bloodwork done for the quad screen and such. Then the next biggie will be the 20 week ultrasound. Whoohoo!

Hugs,

Jenn

Hi Ladies!

Long time, no talk...I don't even know some of you! I want to send e
*~Easy Labor Vibes~* to you, Martha, and happy belated birthday!
Wow, Chels, you will be a mommy soon too!

I can't believe how completely my life has changed in these 2+ months. One major change is that I am almost never on the computer, and can count on one hand practically the times I've even had time to visit this forum that used to be such a part of my life pre-baby! I do think about you guys all the time though, and wish you much luck!

Dar~as far as breastfeedieg woes, I didn't read your original complaint, and couldn't find that thread (no time, heh, heh), but the supplements you can take to increasee breastmilk are Blessed Thistle, Evening Primrose, and Fenugreek. You have to take like 2-3 capsules 2-3 times a day though, and that seemed like a lot to me. I researched a bit and the purity of herbs can't be confirmed since they're not regulated by the FDA, so they chance of getting something else or impurities in the breastmilk due to those supplements made me think twice and not take them. As we all know though, I am paranoid. I did get a prescription for Reglan from my doc and that helped a bit, you could try that. I researched it and it seems like a safer bet. The s/e are dizziness and drowsiness, which suck. Also, brewer's yeast and beer are said to increase milk production naturally...and Jenn said oatmeal does it too. Good luck, hon! Dar~Where did you post your birth story?

Hi All the rest of you ladies!

For a 1X/2X you could try Target, Old Navy, and JCPenney. They didn't work for me, but I was on the upper side of 2X so they were too small, but if you're leaning towards 1X they should work fine ~smiles~ Plus, like mentioned, ebay can be a great resource as well. Glad to hear that, other than clothing, things are going good for you!

Martha, belated Also sending you labor vibes!

Louise, your husband! Haha, I tested the day after I was late I think! Months, yeah right!

Jeepifer, definitely check ebay for clothes. Also, JCPenney has a clearance rack that is a little hit or miss. I got a couple of shirts there for less than $5.00 each. I am not sure how their online selection is though.

Hi Becca, have I said how glad I am that you post here? You should write a book.

Hi Chels, Saltire, and Dar.

I just got back from the doctor. The baby's head is down and she kicked the doctor. Next appointment I have the Group B strep test. Then I start going weekly!

I have a serious question. How bad would it be to give my sweet little girl the initials ARF? My husband is being very stubborn on names. I was trying to avoid initials that spell anything but he likes names that spell ARF and ALF. So, will she hate me?

I had to laugh, as this was a big concern of mine too. At one point in our name choosing process, my baby's initials would have been CPR, and I was afraid she would have a heart attack or have to be a heart surgeon, LOL.

ARF or ALF aren't bad, and only if she gets things monogrammed would you even know it, and in that case, the letter of the LAST name is usually in the middle, so it would be "aFr" or "aFl". In school if they use initials, it's normally just the first and last names...pick the name you like! What is it, BTW?

LOL, Luna.. Alison's initials are ARD. DH's initials are RAD, and I go by Dar.. I think we've exhausted those letters.

Kelley! What's up girlie?!

Here's Alison's story...

Alison's Story

Ok, baby's fussing, probably wants to eat soon. I'll be back later to post on BFing issue.. but we are doing okay. No luck on increasing supply, but I'm alot more okay with it. She's up to about 10 oz. of formula a day, but her cheeks have filled back out and she's happier. Gotta go!

Hi guys,

I'm WAY behind on everyone's news. Happy belated birthday Martha! Any news yet?

Louise -- sorry you're feeling blue. Your DH is crazy! I tested before I was even late -- only 9 days past ovulation! Test whenever you want and however often your pocketbook allows!

Kim -- sorry to hear little Megan is still having problems. That must be very hard and very frustrating. I hope this new formula does the trick. Best wishes!

Hi to everybody else!

I'm madly rushing around trying to get ready for my trip. I leave Wednesday morning and won't be back until the 30th. So I'll be MIA for a while. I'll miss you guys. But when I get back there will be new babies!! Yeah!

I'm in the final homestretch of work to do before I go, but of course, nothing is going smoothly at this point. That's the downside of being self-employed - there's no one to help pick up the slack.

Oh well. Boohoo for me! How are you feeling Becca? Still a bit down?

I'll try to come back later for more personals.

Ciao bellas!

Thanks for the clothing suggestions!

Luna, I don't think either of those are bad. Our daughter almost ended up with EGG. We switched the middle name.

Thanks everyone for the Birthday and Labor wishes. STILL nothing happening here, I'm getting really antsy, ******y and frustrated. DH dragged me into the hospital this morning for a nonstress test and to talk to a doctor, since the midwife blew me off last week, and I haven't felt baby moving as much and just generally being worried that something was wrong. Well, I went on the external monitor for half an hour--everything was fine. The we had a doctor do an internal exam--zero dialation and about 50% effaced. I was pretty upset by that, hoping that something more was happening.

Anyhow, he talked to me a little about induction--and said they don't like to let people go over 42w and 2 or 3 days, but its our choice. The way they start inductions here is with a balloon cathader (sp?)! That totally freaked me out! They put a cath in your cervix, they fill up a water balloon which opens you up over the course of 3-10 hours--totally stuck in the hospital.

Luna, I totally obsess about these things (initials) too! I never had a middle name--my maiden name is now my middle name, but I had to wait until I got married to have a proper monogram! And my hubby has two middle names, so I never know how to monogram his stuff, especially since he goes by his middle name. Our baby will probably be either DHL or LHL Since you're having a girl, what Kelley (MadameX) said about the order makes it less important, I think.

Well, I'm off to bed. Hope everyone is well

Martha, sending more labor vibes your way. How upsetting that must be.

Kelley.. basically I have none to little breastmilk supply. Plus Alison is a biter (yow!) so latching was a big issue at first. Now, she can latch better (not great), but I just don't have enough. Last week, I rented a pump from the hospital. Once I saw how little I was really giving her (she lost a full pound, the pump was getting nothing more than a drop, she had no BM's), I felt better about giving her formula... after a few crying spells, that is! I am using the fenugreek, but just to give it a whirl. My breasts have never filled out, never been engorged, hardly feel any fullness several hours after a feeding. So, it's just not there. Oh, well. We gave it a shot. I will probably continue to BF then supplement for awhile. At least she's getting the benefit of SOME breastmilk.

So, needless to say, these ladies (and the losin' the baby fat ladies) have listened to me whine and cry for the past 10 days. You are all the greatest!

Now, if we can just figure out how to get her to sleep between 1 & 4 am we'll be doing MUCH better! LOL....

Time for a nap... later!

Hey there!!! Hugs to everyone! Looks like we need them! Glad to see Kelley pop in. I wanted to send belated birthday wishes to Martha.....but it sounds like it could have gone better. HUGS!!!

Because of Heather, Martha, Jennifer and even Ames if I remember, I am convinced that most (first) pregnancies are 42 weeks, so I still have a month to go. I don't know how you get through it...and I am sooooooo scared I will go late too. I'm fine now, but just wait until May 3rd rolls around....it's not going to be good. I'm expecting the worse and hoping for nice surprises!!!

Hi ladies!! When did everyone start to show/when did you begin wearing maturnity clothes? I was down to a size 6 - 8 before I got pregnant and I'm so glad that I kept my 10s and 12s, because I'm in them now. I can tell they are going to be too tight pretty soon. I'm now 14 weeks. I started to buy maturnity clothes in size large so that they will fit me (hopefully for my whole pregnancy.) Maturnity clothes obviously don't look right on me now and I hate this in-between stage. I get up never knowing what to wear.

So, just curious, when did you guys wear maturnity?

Hello, everyone!

We had our first “real” ultrasound today. The ultrasound technician & radiologist were not able to tell the gender of our baby because of its position and also because I have some fibroid tumors blocking it in places. There is a slightly higher chance that I may have to deliver by c-section because of them too, if the baby cannot maneuver around them for delivery.

We have a follow up ultrasound scheduled in 4 weeks. We may find out the gender then, or we may not be able to find out until birth! (what a concept!) My doctor explained that it is actually harder to tell the gender through ultrasound as the baby gets bigger, because it is forced into the fetal position. We are still hoping to avoid an amniocentesis, if possible, so we probably won’t be finding out the gender through that test. My doctor didn’t see any markers for Downs Syndrome from the ultrasound and everything else from the ultrasound looked perfect. I had blood drawn today for a “quadruple screen”, which tests for birth defects. I should know the results in a few days from this test.

Overall, we are very pleased with today’s results. I am still in excellent health, my blood pressure is good, I gained another 3 pounds (in 4-5 weeks) (6 pounds total so far). The baby appeared to be active. Its heart rate was 141. From the ultrasound measurements, the baby’s estimated age is 17.3 weeks. This would make my estimated due date 9/23/2005, only one day different than the original estimate of 9/22/2005. I will be 18 weeks along on Thursday of this week.

Sorry to hear that so many people are going late. I haven't checked in for a about a week and I was expecting some new babies around here! Sending labor dust to Martha & Jenn.

Tammara, I can relate on the "not knowing what to wear" thing. I am definitely too big for my regular clothes, and maternity clothes still look rather silly. The one pair of pants that look okay on me now, tend to fall down a bit when I walk around too much, other pants are way uncomfortable.
