Morning Ladies,
I'm copying this from lastnight's post... Hope everyone has a great day with swelling and discomfort to a minimum .

Hi again ladies,

I guess we're very lucky at our hospital and a lot of things addressed on your birthplans are normal procedure. Just thought I'd pass this on ... Our doula that taught our birthing class told us we should keep our birthing plans as short and to the point as possible. She said the longer and more detailed they are the less the staff appreciate them and not to sound too demanding.
About Pitocin, my water broke at 2am and nothing happened. We went to the hospital in the morning and nothing was going on. They had us come back at 3pm and still nothing. They let us stay the night and started Pitocin the next morning. Needless to say, I never got to more than 4 and finally 43 hours later we opted for the c/s. The doctor would've liked to do it after about 24 hours but we told him we wanted to keep trying as long as the baby was fine so he let us.
After the c/s dh went with ds to the nursery. I was immediately taken back to my room and the baby was brought into us. They did all of the tests, bathing etc. in our room. We also opted to have the baby sent to the nursery for nights. I NEVER would've thought of doing that until the time came LOL. We were the ONLY people on the floor and I was totally comfortable with the staff since I'd already been there a couple of days. When he'd get hungry they'd bring him in, I'd nurse him and give him back. The rest of the time he was in our room. This was a service I missed when we came home . He slept in our room in a cradle and he was a noisy sleeper. We used to call him Snortin' Norton' LOL.
Anyway, sometimes all the planning in the world can't help you. You just have to make decisions as they come and hope and pray you do the right thing. It's been like that since he's been born and I'm sure it always will be.

~Mandy - That is WONDERFUL news!!!! I would think it'd be better to let Spencer cook as long as possible too. Thanks for updating us . Congrats to your friend with the twins. I won't be having a 4D, I had a level 2 awhile back and now have regular ones every 4 weeks.

~Dena - OMG on your feet!!! I guess when I feel like complaining I'll think of your feet . My swelling isn't nearly as bad. The nursery is adorable. Ds's was adorable for awhile too, until he started moving and then EVERYTHING had to be moved around or taken out LOL. Thanks for the compliments on the pictures the other day. I feel weird posting them, most times no one even notices them LOL.

~Amy - I'm so glad your pain has stopped. I'm glad you had it checked out though. I'm sure Ziggy will be happy in no time. When we brought ds home from the hospital one of our cats went nuts! She would start going after my nieces when they'd come over and just try to claw at you when you'd walk by. We had to get rid of her . LUCKILY, dh's parents took her in so we know she's being well taken care of. Our other cat was and still is fine.

~Jefinner - When I was a month or so pregnant I went to see a nutritionist, her recommendations for twins were to eat 2 extra dairy servings a day and increase the iron. Otherwise, my daily menus were pretty good. I even told her about my nightly popcorn or ice cream treats and she said I'd be better off spreading them out throughout the day rather than eating them all at night .

~Luna - Are you getting a rocking chair or a glider? We LOVE the glider! Dh wants to keep it in the livingroom LOL. I told him it'd be going into the new nursery when it gets done. I miss it being in ds's room, we used to read and cuddle on it at bedtime. He started messing with it and flipping it over and climbing on it so it was time to go .

~Starfire - WOO HOO congratulations on your triplets. What did you think when you found out? Dh and I were in total SHOCK for a good few months when we found out we were having twins. I'm very nervous and worried about it. I remember how tired I was with ds and can't even imagine how tired I'll be with two!!!

Well, I have my 39 week appointment today... Maybe I'll be surprised, and I'll already be 5 or 6 cm dilated and effaced, and all that jazz... Probably not, but here's to wishful thinking! I also need to remember to bring her my birth plan.

Meg, I'm glad to hear you are doing well. Be sure to treat yourself well.

Mandy, sorry for cutting short last night. I hope you see this. One week post c/s I'm doing well. The only major complaint I've had is constipation. I had the WORST experience last night. I've never experienced anything so painful. I'll spare you the details. Be sure to drink lots of fluids to keep yourself hydrated. I haven't been drinking enough, and I think that's affected my milk supply as well.

The first few days are very hard. They gave me pitocin in my IV to encourage contracting of the uterus. TAKE ALL THE PAIN MEDS THEY OFFER! That's my best advice. One day after delivery, I had the most awful cramping, added to the fact that my catheter was out and I had to pee. It was horrible.. I never felt so helpless and was screaming and crying to the nurse who was helping me. She was a big help with getting me to the bathroom. I never would have made it myself. What happened was my percocet was wearing off, so they got me some ibuprofen to help with the pain until I could take another dose.

It's amazing, though, how each day really does get better. When I think about what I felt like Thursday compared to Friday, it was a huge difference. And then fast forward to today.. I can pretty much do everything, including bend over and get out of bed painlessly. The only thing I have to be careful with is getting out of the squishy recliner without using too many abdominal muscles. I have to remember to use my arms to assist myself.

Oh, and they had these fashionable undies for me to wear. They are large and like mesh. Use those and take home whatever's left. I wore them up until yesterday. They're so large they are nice and loose and the mesh keeps the incision site dry for you.

Hmm.. that's about all I had for now.

I think Becca mentioned this before, but for those of you wanting to BF: DRINK LOTS OF FLUID!!! As I said, I believe I ended up dehydrated and it's affected my milk supply. I haven't been in the mood to drink or eat, but Mom and Rob have been keeping an eye on me.

Ok, checking the clock it's time to wake the lil' bit and encourage her to feed. Toodles!

Oh, one last comment. I mentioned that Rob and Mom are keeping an eye on me. If someone is coming to stay with your, or if DH does the same.. they will harp on you to make sure you sleep, eat, and drink. It may get annoying, but keep in mind they are just looking out for you. I apologized to DH last night for being such a ****** and thanked him for looking out for me. He knows I'm stressed about the whole BFing thing, but I think it helped having me vocalize that I appreciated it, even if I didn't show it.

Mandy ~ Woo, Hoo for Spencer. What a good boy he is. LOL I am glad your levels went up. Will they still keep you until the end? I am glad you got this good news!! Yipppee!!

So, I have my glucose test today. I am so not looking forward to it. Hopefully it isn't as bad as I imagine it being. I have my lemon/lime carbonated beverage chilling in the work fridge as we speak. I think a little before 5:00 I will pop it in the freezer to get it nice and cold. Wish me luck. Anyone know how long it takes for the results to come back??

So, I will be MIA until Tuesday probably - although I will check in tonight to tell you how gross to beverage was. LOL We are moving this weekend so I took Friday and Monday off the get some stuff done. I feel like there is so much to do though. I am afraid that we won't have everything ready for Saturday AM.

~Dar - I made it a practice to always have a glass or bottle of water while I was nursing. I was ROFL about the underware! Dh works at the hospital and I used to have him bring me home new ones for a couple of months. I wear bikins so they went right where the incision was, hence the wearing of the meshies LOL. I also agree with taking the meds consistantly so the pain doesn't catch up with you. Once it catches up with you it's hard to get it under control again for awhile.

~Amy - Good luck with the move and don't do too much! Good luck on the Glucos Test, it wasn't nearly as bad as the fasting one I did with ds.

Wow, so much has happened since I've been around.

A warm welcome to Reilly, Alison, and Chad! I can't believe three new babies since I've been around to read.

Mandy~I'm so glad things are going well. That is such good news.

I wanted to thank Miss Gigl, Vixendrop, and Alli for the help with bras for the well endowed. Your links really helped me find something to fit. I'm sorry I haven't been back until now to say thanks. Things have been just crazy and it doesn't look like it's going to end until after the baby is born. But I really did appreciate the help.

I have a little time today so I'm going to try and go back and read some of what I missed.

So I got the sonogram today and they couldn't see anything, but she said it just might need another week or so. So they drew blood and I get the results tomorrow. If the results come back and my levels are still rising then I get another sonogram next week, if they are the same or lower I have or I am miscarrying. but as of yet, still have no idea. I hate not knowing.

right now I am fine, I have had over a week of not knowing and went through all the emotions. If it is the bad news I have had a week to prepare for it, it will still be painful and hurt but I would rather build myself up for it than wake up in the middle of the night in pain and bleeding not knowing. Does that make any sense?

I totally understand. At least you have been able to prepare your self if something bad were to happen. It will still be hard, but at least it isn't a huge shock. Keep hoping for the best...I will too.

Dar** Alison is such a beautiful little girl! I showed my husband and his response was "we need a little girl".. needless to say I'm not going to show him anymore pictures for awhile!. My two sons had one of those marks on the back of their neck and they went away at about 1.5 to 2yrs I believe.. I'm sure Alison is just doing it a little different you know how us girls are..lol how is the breastfeeding going?.. I know the first few weeks with Ethan was a little hard but he's got the hang of it.

Alli** I can't believe the twins are already over 2lbs! what if you have two 9lb babies Your pictures are just to adorable! you have "double" the glow! and your son is just precious! I had to laugh at the picture with your husband in it that was just to funny/cute reminds me of my husband riding around on my sons bike...

Heather** I wished I looked that good after having Ethan! If I could of taken the camera away from DH mother believe you me I can't believe some of the pictures she shows..lol Chad is such a handsome little baby! and his hair is amazing. How are you feeling? I know the first few weeks I was a walking zombie..lol waking up every 2 hrs sure does take a toll on your brain!..I loved your birth story! its just amazing how fast some of these babies want to come out..lol

Not much to report again today. More work, work, work. I finally got the book I ordered - A Child Is Born. For those of you who haven't seen it, it's awesome! Amazing photographs from conception right up to birth. So cool to see what the little bean looks like at each stage.

Five more sleeps until my trip to Arizona. I'm gettting excited now. I have to start getting my stuff together and figuring out what I need. Also need a haircut and a bunch of stuff like that. So far, so good on the m/s. I'm hoping it doesn't kick in right before I go or something.

Alli - I look at all the crap in the nursery and know it is just a matter of time before the "cute" stuff will come out.

Martha - Are you feeling any different? I know I am a few weeks behind you, but I feel NOTHING! No lost plug, my BH contractions aren't stronger, no discharge, the baby hasn't dropped, no aches or pains....I thought at some point "something" would feel different. I have it in my head this baby will be late....might as well go with the flow since you and Heather started that trend. HUGS!!!

Dar - Are your feet better yet? I missed the whole foot thing with Dan....I remember he had a crazy avatar up for a short time. Does he have a foot fetish? Any new pics of Alison?

The RN in our birthing classes said the same thing....basically you need to almost double your daily intake and that is what 8 - 10 glasses....so if you nurse about 12 to 15 times, you should have a glass of water with each feeding...sumpin like that...I'm sure my numbers are off.

I'm having a rough night. Just hormones, I guess. I'm sitting here freaking out over whether or not I have the patience for two babies. What if Ezra is colicky? Allison was, but I didn't have a 12 month old to deal with at the time, and I still got really frustrated at times. And Anna is used to getting all of my attention during the day... How in the world is she going to react? And I can't seem to find the energy to keep the house clean NOW... What am I going to do with two little ones? I mean, I know that I'm just pooped all the time, and that's why I'm not cleaning as much as I should... Plus the swelling is bad right now too. I'm wondering how in the world I'm ever going to run errands... Get groceries... Etc... I would do it when Hank gets home, but lately he's been working late, as his boss has been out a lot due to personal issues. I'm just trying to tell myself that God isn't going to give me anything I can't handle, but sometimes my faith (in regards to that) isn't as strong as it should be.

Okay... That's the end of my whine... LOL... I just had to get it out. I know Hank is having a rough time with work stress, and while he's always willing to listen, I don't want to put all of this on him as soon as he gets home. (Yeah, he's JUST NOW on his way home at 10:20pm... Poor thing.)
