Congrats on your beautiful baby girl! How are you feeling? Everything going ok? Is Dani helping you out? How long are you going to be out of work? Take care of yourself!

Hey, Jen! Have a good day at work. I haven't seen Dani since Wednesday, but she knows my Mom is here. We're having latching issues, and I'm supplementing with formula until my milk comes in. I'm hoping that will resolve our problem.. she works so hard at latching and re-latching that she wears herself out and falls to sleep still hungry. So, she gets a bonus serving of formula, but only after we BF first.

We see our ped. for the first time today. If she's not lost weight, I'm going to continue with that strategy. If she's losing weight, we'll probably have to reconsider.

Otherwise, I just need to work on altering her schedule.. she thinks midnight to 4 am is a great time to be UP!

I plan to up load some more pics soon, too!

Dar~ I am glad to hear that you are still trying! Did you see Suzanne's post? She had a rough go at first after she had Max by c-section. I think she said it took her 10days to get him to latch. Do you have a pump? Maybe pumping a little while she is asleep will help your milk come in. It is all about supply and demand. I hope you can get her days and nights back to normal. Good luck and keep us informed.

Please don't give up if she has lost weight. All babies lose weight the first few days of life. My "big" boy went from 9lb 10oz down to 8lb 13oz in just three days and now he is pushing 14lbs at 7 weeks old! If you are supplimenting with formula you are risking the danger of not producing enough milk. I agree with karatejen that you might want to pump. Grant was having trouble latching on for about a week and I cup fed him my pumped milk after each attempt to latch on. Eventually he got the hang of it and your little one will too.

Not sure what I missed over the weekend. But I did see the news about Alisons arrival!

Congratulations Dar! She is beautiful!!! I am sure you are overjoyed to have her here with you finally!

So, my doggie is gone as of this morning. I am so bummed right now...but he was perfectly happy to get in the car with my mother this morning to make the 12 hour drive to Canada. My mom took his kennel and his bed along with two blankets he always uses - so he should be fine. It's just me that is sad.

Well, I registered with my mother Saturday. Can we say overwhelming!?!?! It took us almost three hours. We were pooped! I think I got everything...but who knows. They gave us a checklist and we seemed to get everything. Plus, I found the cutest little sandles that are all cloth. They are pink and white with little flowers. I can't believe how small they are!! My mom picked up the matching onsie. I think that will be her coming home outfit. I will have to take a picture of it to show you all. The shoes fit my bit toe!! LOL

Okay. For the past two days, I am so, so, so sore "down there" and in my butt hole it seems. It hurts to sit, to move, to pee, to cough...anything. Then sometimes I get this stabbing pain that lasts for a few seconds and it hurts so bad!! Everyone is telling me that it is just stretching...but thought I would check with you guys. What do you think? I figure if it doesn't go away in the next day or so, I would call the doctor. This all started after I walked around the mall and Babies R Us for several hours on Saturday. Maybe I just over did it.

Well, I will be back later and I will lurk on and off. Hoping to hear from Heather and Martha!!

But the pain is mostly in my crotch area and then sort of radiates to my bum. Still hemmroids??

Amy-probably just pressure. I've had that for months now. If I stand too long my whole genital area pushes out. Sorry TMI. Got the hemmroid thing too because of DS#1's labor. Last night it was really bad, I overdid it all week.

Ames!-Hey girl, glad to see the little one is thriving and BFing is going well!

Dar-BFing is hard IMO...get with an LC if you can. I had one that I could call morning, noon or night. She really supported me and even supported me in my decision to stop BFing DD because of her tongue problem. She will probably lose weight at this visit. Most babies do in the beginning. I really can't stress enough to get a supportive LC...they will come to your house and help you, rent you a hospital grade pump, they have nipple shields and other suggestions. Also, at the drugstore there are these things called Soothies. They are cold pack type things for your nipples but they are sticky. They look like a big circle of silicone. Try them. You can wear them in your bra. Good luck.

Dar, congratulations on your beautiful little girl! I took a look at your pictures, how adorable.

I just noticed that we have a lot of people (ten to be exact) who are 35 or more weeks along. We are going to have a bunch of new arrivals soon!

I have my first "real" ultrasound a week from today. We are hoping to find out the gender at that visit. I really feel like I am starting to show now. I am always asking my DH to look at my stomach and I think he is getting a little tired of telling me, "Yes, you are starting to show". It is very surreal for me still.

Any news on Mandy?

~Amy - If it is serious pain I'd call the doctor just to make sure. It could just be stretching, hemmies or just plain old pregnancy discomfort though. Hang in there. If it makes you feel any better, I went shopping for some maternity clothes and hated nearly everything . Sorry about your dog . At least you know he's going to a good home.

~Ames - I agree with everything you said.

~Dar - I hope you have a good ped. visit. I agree with Ames. If you are supplementing with formula, you are not increasing your supply. I'd try to pump and continue trying. It's so awesome once they get going . Martha checked in yesterday with no news. We've been waiting to hear from Heather.

We got home from the hospital last night. Chad Avery was born at 1:35pm on Saturday weighing in at 8lb 8oz and 20 in long. I'm feeling good, it was a very fast labor and I didn't even tear He's nursing well too! We are working on pictures, I'll try to post some later today.

Hi girls! I'm here... Yes... Still here... My boy isn't ready to come out yet. Although, since I've made it through this far, I'm just hoping he doesn't decide to make an appearance tomorrow, which is Anna's birthday.

Anna's not feeling well today and still has a bit of a fever from this weekend... However, I doubt she's come down with anything... I think it's just a severe case of teething. I've checked everything else to make sure it can't be some sort of infection. Her throat and ears look okay, and she's not pukey or snotty. She's just feverish, cranky and won't take a sippy cup. So, we've reverted for just a couple days. Hopefully, she'll transition back well, or else I'm in for it. LOL...

Anyway, I'm gonna go now... I'll check into my other challenge thread to let them know that I haven't had a baby yet, just that I'm feeling crummy. You know... Tired, achy, the carpel tunnel stuff is acting up... I'm one big ball of fun, huh? LOL!

Hey Dar~ Great birth story. I wanna know how big your baby was??? I love HUGE chubby babies. My friend's cousin's baby was 12 lbs 13 oz. I want my next one to be at least 10 lbs. It's normal for c/s babies without any labour to have breathing problems because the fluid isn't squeezed out during labour.

Dar, I just read your birth story--I got all excited about Ali's brazillian wax yesterday and then didn't get back to read the rest of the thread! LOL Sorry you had to wait so long to be with your little bundle. I wouldn't worry about the marks, I've seen those on lots of newborns and they go away. Try to stick with the breast feeding--I've heard it can be really difficult.

Heather, congrats! Can't wait to hear all the details and see pictures.

I'm still hanging out, waiting waiting waiting. I've felt more crampy today than usual--I've had crampiness for about a week now. I think I might have even had a couple of real contractions, but I'm not entirely sure. We met with a second back-up doula today, and she seems fine, but I still hope our regular one can make it.

How much/often are you supposed to drink the raspberry leaf tea? Hubby has been making it for me 2 or 3 times a day...

Martha, typically in the 3rd tri you should drink 3 cups per day of the red raspberry leaf tea... the standard amounts are one cup per trimester. With DD#1 I drank it all the time, but this time the taste makes me want to throw up... thankfully my midwife said the capsules are just as good... phew! I'm convinced the tea helped me have a short wonderful labor.
