Welcome & Congrats CJ i added you to the list, let us know if your DD changes. Wow i LOVED all the pics yesterday of the babies & PG bellies!! For those who dont want to go back to yesterdays thread.... although it was jamm packed with some good readin' and photos here was the big news that Michelle was nice enough to update us on (you are the best!!)

Dar said they had one repertory issue with Alison but she is fine now! I'll leave the details for her to share. She is currently in her room with hubby and awaiting Alison's arrival to her to begin nursing. Mama feels good, considering she had surgery, and hopes to come home either Friday or Saturday.

I'll repost this in the morning for those who will not check in again tonight
Shelly ~ Ethan is so cute!!! How can you stand it??!!

Jenfinner ~ Loved the pics.... ohhh those eyes, you where SO tan in the labor/tub pic. You never told us when is miss anna's birthday??

Kaillean ~ Had to laugh at your bazoomer comment, they are such a pain and hubby isn't even a "boobs" man, go figure!! Payton better be....LOL, or i am in for some serious hurtin' not sure if you read it yesterday but the clothesline thing was there cause all my friends that went to the shower decorated them.

Ames ~ glad you popped in, sorry to here of your PC & LC problems..... on another note have any pics for us??

Well here is what I have been up to as promised.... the novel that i have worked on all day...LOL

Wed/Thurs/Fri ~ went to Santa Cruz with my little sis, it was nice although the hotel was not what they advertised. Our little cottage that was "on the beach" was actually about 100 yards away. But the weather made up for it that’s for sure... it was 80 and B-E-Auuutifuuul!! We had some nice bonding time just hanging out. My little sister is the beast you couldn’t ask for a better kid, I just feel sorry for all that she is going through right now. she said she cant wait till summer break and I trying to talk my mom into letting her come down when Payton is born. Friday before we came home we went by Carmel and this cute little English tea house www.tuckbox.com you may have seen it on the food channel or the travel channel Friday night my parents go into town and I started dreading the shower the next day.

Sat/The Shower ~ Not sure if everyone know but there where nothing but issues with the shower on the 2nd. One of my "friends" who was co-hosting it wanted it to be an all adult drunk-fest. She went as far as to type up the invites to read couples only, behind my back. Mind you that my family was driving 6 hrs to go, and some people who where invited that where not from the PD their invitations where addressed to the kids as well. Sat morning several people called me to let me know that they would not be there because they where given the impression that kids where not welcome, I was so pissed I didn’t even want to go. It turned out ok, but I was still not happy that peoples felt excluded... it was a baby shower/Luau not a sit down dinner, come on people. Man if I ever needed a drink in the last 9 months that was the night!! They did do the one game that I suggested and it was funny, seeing all those men trying to suck beer out of a baby bottle was hilarious. The other thing that made the night was a surprise performance by some hula dancers who happened to be David and his 2 closest friends from work. They where in grass skirts, coconut bras & women's wigs... it was everything I could do not to pee on myself. They finished up there dance by swan diving into the pool while holding hands. Present wise we got a ton of stuff but unlike my last shower where I got a good assortment of clothing sizes I think everything I got was 0-3 months, between that and one of the officers who thought it would be funny to tell the rookie that we where having a girl (he must have got us $100 worth of pink clothes) I am gonna be a returning fool. So we got the crib and mattress and the PB crib set, monitor, bath tub, booster seat, play yard, 2 diaper cakes, 3 aquarium bouncer seats (didn’t register for.. lol) and just about every ride on toy police car that they make.... you could say we made out. Still not sure if it was worth all the drama. All in all it went well.... never guess who was the only one that got *****ty falling down drunk... guess it takes time before you realize who your true friends are. Megan's parent where on of many that didn’t go because of the kid thing but they called me to let me know that my gift (they already got us a bunch of stuff) was that I was done watching Megan. I think that was the best gift because now I can concentrate on my little guy!! Taking care of her was really wearing on me.

Sunday ~ I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t overdo it...lol. My mom and I went to Ikea and got the dresser for Payton's room, they left about 3 to head home and from then until 11 that night we put together the crib, the dresser (why doesn't Ikea label ANY of there parts on a dresser that has 100??) and installed the 9 ft by 10 ft mirrored closet doors. Will post pics when everything is a bit more finished, the only major things are the bookcase being delivered on the 13th and cutting the surfboard in 1/2 and mounting it on the wall as shelves

Monday ~ The plan was to go to Babies R Us to get his infant carrier, the only other thing we really need. But I was not wanting to do anything i swear every muscle in my body was aching, thank god we have a hot tub!! That and the fact that David went golfing with his friends and came home inebriated and was getting on my nerves so bad that if I could have moved at all I would have hit the mall and done some serious damage.

Other than that I ordered new interior doors and a front door Tuesday. They will be in next week, when the sales guy asked if I wanted hollow or solid I patted my tummy and said as solid as you got. Every year with our tax return we do at least one home improvement project, my mom says we are silly getting back such a huge tax return that we should adjust it. But we are SO not savers and that big chunk of change is nice every year. Today I made it to Babies R Us in between traffic and got the car seat and a few other odds and ends. Guess I have bored you all long enough I am going to go fold laundry and go to bed!!

xoxo Chelsea

Hi everyone,

Just checking in quickly. Nothing new here, still crampy and amazingly tired! Yesterday we went to IKEA to look for towels for baby, and I vowed never to go there again. I never find a thing! We ran around to a bunch of other stores and had some luck, but I was totally beat. Had a midwife appointment today, and she said everything seemed good--baby is completely down, I guess that means engaged? I did have a tiny bit of protein in my urine, but she said it was normal at this stage, and my b/p was 100/61--so still on the low side. I have a huge blue spot on my belly that she asked about (I was going to ask her about it but she beat me!) and we concluded that it was just a bruise. *shrug*

Heather, I hope your labor starts moving along soon!

Chels, what a weekend! I am positive I would not survive--I'd need a nap every 2 hours! LOL

Dar, You probably wont see this, but big congrats! Can't wait to hear all about Allisons arrival!

As for the discussion about that incident with the child and mom...I think the lady was completely out of line. I am all for setting lots of limits and disciplining when necessary, but you can't yell at someone else's child like that--she should have talked to the mother or left. I don't know where I'd fit along the scale--what did you call it? (I swear, my memory/brain power dimishes daily!) Oh, mainstream scale. I'm going to a midwife, but that's all that's available here. I would have had an OB in the US. But, I'm planning/hoping for a no intervention natural birth. I'm old-fashioned in many ways, I think my brothers and I turned out pretty well, and can only hope our child(ren) grow up as nicely. I plan to stay home until they're well into school (maybe longer), the children will have their own rooms--I'm not into the whole family bed thing--maybe Sunday morning snuggle sessions.

Anyhow, I think it's all up to the individual, and I don't really care what others do if it works for them.

Sorry, sometimes I can come accross sounding ******y, that was not my intention--and I'm just too tired to go back and modify. I hope I didn't offend anyone.

MARTHA - I'm with you on Sunday snuggle sessions... Well, Anna did sleep with us a little when she was first born, but she and I can't do it anymore. Both of us are light sleepers, so if she sleeps with us, it's because she's waken in the middle of the night, and wants her mommy. I let my kids come in for bad dreams, being sick, etc... Although, with all of our kids now, I might have to get another bad to go with this one... LOL!

CHELSEA - I swear I thought I mentioned Anna's birthday date... Oops... Preggo brain. It's on the 12th. If I can, we'll probably do the little party this weekend... Nothing's planned though, because I don't know when Ezra will decide to make his appearance. I just hope it's not on Anna's birthday.

Sorry to hear about the girl hosting your second shower. That sucks, but at least you had a pretty good time in the end.

Hey ladies! Hope everyone is good. I'm getting shower jealous. LOL I had 2 for my first baby almost 6 years ago but not for the second and will not for the 3rd. I have stuff, but it would be nice to be celebrated. LOL And alot of things change in 6 yrs.

I was up cleaning until 10:30 last night. I'm tired. I have lots more stuff to do. I have to take down some of my roman shades and send them back to be repaired. They are from Blinds to Go and they have a lifetime warranty. They pull strings broke on all 6!! I have to order blinds for the baby's room too. We use the cellular shades with mylar in the middle. Room darkening.

I think we are due for T-storms today. It was 80 yesterday and my bedroom was hot last night. I was so uncomfortable!!

I hear ya Becca... I wanted one this time, since it'll be a boy, and I have nothing but girls. I do have a darn good life though, so I know I shouldn't complain... It's just that I feel a little, I dunno the word for it... But I just wanted a little attention.

So, I feel ya.

Good morning,

Chels-That's wonderful that you won't be watching Megan anymore!!! You need this last month to be as stress-free as you can get it. What car seat did you get? We had a heck of a time finding one we liked, I didn't like how any of them buckled, esp the graco snug ride, it felt like it would break my nails everytime I put him in it. We finally settled on one from Wal-mart that was under $50! And I had budgeted to spend $120- go figure. I also recieved a TON of 0-3 month clothes, I don't understand why people buy that size, they are only in it until 11-12 lbs, which is usually before 3 months, esp if you have a 9+ lb baby. Aww well, it's really the thought that counts.

Martha-That's great the baby is already in position! My lil guy is still way up high, my doctor said I will probably have the same problem getting him to fit into my pelvis that I had with Mya-Dear God, let's hope not! Sorry you didn't have any luck at Ikea, we don't have one of those stores near-by, but I've always wanted to go into one. So far, my absolutle favorite hooded baby towel is from Pottery Barn Kids, it's big and thick and super soft, I want to get more of them, but they are $20 each. $26 if you have the name sewn on. But they are worth the price IMO.

Looks like everyone's getting a slow start this morning, I'll check back later today.

Becca-That really stinks nobody offered to throw you a shower. We were able to keep all the big things from Mya, she's 3 now, but we had to get all new clothes. Maybe you and DH can throw a Welcome Baby party after he is a few weeks old. I've gone to a couple of those and I always brought a gift.

I am here. Barely. I just wanted to sleep in today. But I came to work.

Dar-Congrats! Welcom Alison! I can't wait to see pics.

Michelle--If you check in, I just wanted to tell you that DH LOVED the pic of Elana you posted the other day with the Minnie Mouse outfit and the pouty lip. I think he's warming up to this baby idea.

Amy---Hugs to you. Sorry that you can't find any clothes. I am somewhat small, but must have the world's largest hips/ass/thighs. I cannot find any pants to fit me. I wear skirts to work or dresses. I can only find one brand of jeans that fit me. Ick. I can't imagine what is going to happen if my legs get any bigger.

Vixen-- I loved your pic from yesterday. You look great.

Hello to everyone else! Sorry I haven't been around more. I am sort of having a blah week.

Who will be our next baby? Maybe we should take a poll .

Nothing new with me, just waiting for TOM so that I can start charting next month.

Morning sickness question

I'm just reaching 5 weeks, and haven't really felt queasy at all. I've been reading that morning sickness tends to start around 6 weeks, so I'm wondering what to expect. I haven't been very hungry the last couple of days (but I have been eating a decent amount), and now I've got a kind of "lump" feeling in my throat. Not really like I'm gonna get sick, but I've never thrown up without being really "sick." Should I be able to realize when I'm gonna get sick with enough time to get to the restroom, or does it just come up. (sorry so gross! )

I'm hoping I'll be a lucky one who won't get it bad, but it might make me feel more like I'm pregnant if I do get it...

heather ~ I was so relived that I didn’t have to tell them that I wanted to stop, i knew that they needed me. I guess I am just to nice in that sense. I was so happy when she said that she found a provider, then was bumed when she said that they would be starting her there May 1st. Guess it all worked out in the end. Did you see the link I posted for you last night?? I will repost for you. You get your pics figured out?? We got the Snugride in Heatwave , I know what you mean about the buckle but Megan had that one and I got pretty good at it, just cant have my nails TO long. It was on clearance so we got it for $80, here is a pic of it

Jen & Becca ~ Sorry you guys are not getting a shower... but for me anyway I would have rather skipped all the work/stress and bought the gifts myself. But maybe my showers where an exception..... I like the idea of a welcome baby party.

Martha ~ We are so on the same page... and i to hope that i dont come across ******y. I am all over the board when it comes to the whole mainstream thing.... same with my political views. I sure had to bite my tounge and not post a responce yesterday to another post.......

Vixen ~ Hope you have a good appt.

CJ ~ I had morning/noon/night sickness from 8-14 weeks, some women get it some don’t. If you go make sure to go get some real ginger candy (they have good ones at Trader Joes)

Here is the induction methods link I posted last night... pretty interesting......

Hi Ladies,

~Dar - Congrats on Alison's arrival .

~Shelley - All I can say is AAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!

I'll do more personals later, I'm late for nap time .

I just got back from my OB appointment. I'm measuring 36 weeks and I'm only 26 weeks! He said that horrible pain I feel is my uterus and it most likely won't go away. My GCT came out great and he said I don't have to do a GTT at all because I did so well with the other. I will continue having my iron monitored and he figures we'll have to keep increasing the does I take as we move along. I also have to get my Rhogham (?sp) shot at 28 weeks and once I hit 30 weeks I have to see him weekly. He feels I'm doing great and just continue doing what I'm doing. I have gained almost 40 pounds already . I am SOOOO happy I lost 50 pounds before I got pregnant, I can not imagine how horrible I'd feel if I had all of that extra weight to carry around. Anyway, I'll be back later I need to put my body up for awhile .

What a cutie pie Ames!

Alli-I hope these last months go quickly for you, luckily you won't havve to go through the entire summer preggers. Maybe you'll have some 4th of July babies!

Chels-I came across that web-site a few months ago too. I started the raspberry leaf tea and EPO about 6 weeks ago. My OB said that the EPO worked really well on my cervix. So it definatly wouldn't hurt anything if you started taking them now. I probably won't try the Cohosh b/c it can make your BP rise, and mine is already on the verge of being high.

I hope you like your new midwife Vixen!

CJ-I was nausous quite a bit, but fortunatly, I never vomited. Poor Ames had a horrible bout with the m/s, she might be more help.

Well gals-I tried the acupunture this morning, can you say OOOOWWWWW! I swear, it hurt my hands more than anything (I have carpal tunnel issues right now) It didn't bring on any contractions, maybe it will be more effective if I have DH press on the pressure points for me.

Ames he is SO cute !! And he has your cute little nose.... awwwww man cant wait till my little man is here!!!

on another note i was looking through all the info on that link i posted and came across this...

Quote:
"About fellatio: Actually, it would probably be beneficial, if the idea is to get the labour started. A great OB in Hamilton (John Lamont, I believe) spoke to our class about sexuality and pregnancy. He mentioned the concept that prostaglandins are absorbed 10X more efficiently through the gut than through the vaginal mucosa, with respect to semen and labour onset."
GAWD i HOPE that David never get ahold of that info!!

CJ
My morning sickness hit all at once and it started in my 6th week. One day I was fine...the next day I was puking my shoelaces and couldn't keep even water down for a day and a half until my OB put me on Zofran for the nausea. I had it bad for 11 weeks! Even with the medicine I still threw up sometimes...especially in the early weeks. But I always made it to the bathroom in time. I found it very difficult to swallow my prenatals and threw up several times just trying to brush my teeth. And the smell of meat would send me running to the bathroom too. I was probably a worse case scenerio for the morning sickness, so it probably won't be as bad for you if you get it at all. Hope that helps!

Ames

Heather! I'm hoping to read your birth story soon I know it's miserable waiting but I'm sure it will all be worth it in the end.. It seems after delivery us women get amnesia and it's a good thing because I'm sure that is the only way we would want to do it all over again ..lol Take it easy and for crying out loud dont eat another bite of the eggplant!.. I was suprised at how much Ethan smiles already my grandma says its just gas but if you say his name he smiles and when you give him kisses..lol he's a little hussie already.. Try drinking a few sugar free Red Bulls to get labor started or you could always try the "drink" chels suggested!!!

Chels.. you just look sooo great! it took me along time to show too and even when I did I still didnt look very "pregnant" but I sure did feel it If you need me to I can have that drink for you I will..lol

Alli.. I'm so glad you and the babies are doing good! I had to take iron with Ethan because mine was so low but as soon as I started taking it I felt a lot better not as tired and run down but it did cause a few problems in the bathroom area!.. thats another story...

Ames.. Grant is so handsome! it's amazing how they change from day to day.. I had to laugh at the one pictures with you laying with him because I didnt notice anything else but the Sun Chip bag in the background!! What I would give for a bag of chips right now!

Mandy.. I hope you and the baby are doing good! you two are in my thoughts and prayers everyday!

Sarah.. Tanner is getting so big! he is a doll.. I love the black and white photos

Dar..CONGRATS!!!!!
